My Swiss grandmother made these every Christmas season. My grandfather was born and raised in Lauterbrunnen and called them "grass worms." Whatever you name you give them, they taste great! Thank you for sharing. It is a great memorial to your mother.
Many thanks. I had trouble even finding a recipe and this great, step by step on how to do it. We called them "grassworms" (Graswurmli). My family was from Canton Spiez.
She is really creative in making something, and she reminds me with my beloved grandmother' figure and also my mom:)She made and cooked then prepared it with full love. It is very enjoyable when we want to taste and to eat;)Please, continue to make more videos
I clicked on this video when I saw the lady. Anytime I see and elderly lady cooking instantly gains my attention. I know I'll learn something from her.
Oh, what a wonderful lady, so thoughtful, lovely and so sweet. Thank you for this inspiring video. When I'm going to serve this to my friend, I will definitely mention your name and your Mom. My deepest condolences my friend.
Thank you Emmanuel, My father (Swiss) did most of the Christmas baking at our house and this was one of his (and ours) most popular. I will attempt them this year (2012). I am sorry to learn about your mom.
Awesome, my mom used to make the same thing and since she passed yesterday we were talking about these and Linzer torte and Knopfli. It's going to be a busy weekend cooking. ;-)
This recipe is a bit different from my mother's. She does not put any hazelnuts in hers. I liked the addition of them along with the powdered sugar. Thanks for posting this. It was very helpful.
Lovely video. The cookies sound and look delicious! I hope to make them this Xmas. We are doing cookies from different countries. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful lady's recipe.
So I did try these and my family thought they were exactly like they remember! I know they tasted like I remember. So many schenkeli to make...so little time!
ok, last 3 years these were a hit with my Swiss siblings! This year (2019) trying with an Air fryer! Only 1/2 dozen so if they don't work I will need to purchase a deep fryer (mine quit) Stay tuned!
my father in law is Swiss, his mother used to make Cresent cookies for Christmas, they were covered in powdered sugar and these cookies look similar do you know of a Swiss recipe for the Cresent cookie?

How great that you got to "immortalize" her doing something that she obviously did so well! Thanks for the recipe. I added your video to my blog.
