Spot the Sneak is no joke the best mode in this game. I played this game a ton when I was younger, and never failed to play that mode when friends were over.

The XCX was indeed in DRV3. I'm pretty sure it was in case 1, though it might have been in case 2 if I'm remembering things incorrectly.
Jana Nope, it's indeed in Chapter 1, right at the beginning of the investigation.
Jana I wonder if that was in the Japanese script as well. It’s kind of an odd reference too seeing how the two are pretty much unrelated with XCX being not popular enough I feel to warrant that reference (unlike the Jojo references in Persona and other media since Jojo’s extremely popular and more in the mainstream in Japan by comparison).
The only link I can see is that you’ve got Bang Zoom VAs voicing both XCX characters and the animated Danganronpa characters (at least I know that the animation’s Kirigiri and Elma share the same English dub VA), and that’s kind of a weak link seeing how many other projects the Bang Zoom VAs are involved in with nary an XCX reference to be found.
Ray Jams I have to wonder what the context behind the reference is as I’m pretty sure none of the DRV3 cast have a talent relating to games save for the cosplayer (I know very little about DRV3 and DR in general as a whole outside of the characters, who dies, and the basic plots of most of the stories).
Rexaura888 Thing is, the character that makes the reference, Tsumugi Shirogane, makes a lot of other references throughout the game that you also wouldn't really expect. It is indeed pretty weird that Xenoblade X would be one of them, but after seeing some of her other ones, it honestly feels normal. Although, I think the XCX one is the only game related one though, all the other ones are anime related, if I remember correctly. There's also a reference to Pokemon S&M, but it's made by another character and it's in the bonus mode.

Unless I’m mistaken and for those curious, I believe this is the TAS Jon was referring to: Decathlon for the Atari 2600. The guy doesn’t quite go into space as he put it, but he goes high enough that he clips through the ceiling for a few seconds before coming down.
There is another video of the pole vaulting portion though wherein the player somehow causes the pole vaulter to float a few pixels above the ground and across the screen with the momentum built. The attempt counts as a Miss since the jump wasn’t cleared, but we learn that from this glitch the screen has wrap-around since the guy comes flying in from the left side of the screen after leaving through the right side.

Oh that's why Jon lost first is original time they did this. The pool ball hitting you doesn't guarantee that you'll be knocked out. Still a bit stupid though
PIKMINROCK1 No, Jon lost originally because although he and the AI were thrown out at the same time, he was the first of the two to go offscreen due to being closer to the edge of the screen he flew off of.
Rexaura888 yeah. And the reason why it doesn't count from the moment you get hit is that if the ball is slow enough, you are only knocked back a little bit like Tim did in the beginning. A smarter way to do it is to calculate whether the player is going to get knocked as they get hit and then determine their placing. It's a bit more complicated but that should barely cost any resources on a Wii U unless the ball is going lightspeed
