The board is pretty bad tbh. You pretty much just need to go for the bonus stars more than anything else, using chain chomps only when someone is super close by.

For anyone curious, the Roulette halves the price to ride a Chain Chomp. As mentioned, the Bowser Sphinx also does this. I believe this bargain lasts 5 turns, but I could be very wrong. I played this board the least, so I don't remember.
But, it's for the last 4 turns...

I think it would just reset the counter back to '5 turns.' The developers could've also made it so that you never get that bargain while it's active, even if it's visible on the roulette.
A Bowser Time event unique to this board is Bowser summoning a massive cyclone to wipe out the bridges connecting the two halves of the board, taking them out for a few turns. I've only ever seen it once in my life and I'm kinda sad it didn't show up this time.
I would ask what Bowser has against bridges, but I remembered Mario 1.
Man, this game has been super close all-around. It defintely seems a lot easier to get people here then in Snowflake Lake. Mainly because there isn't any real safe areas and you can get multiple blocks at anytime, compared to Snowflake where you could only do it at night.

That's why I honestly hate this board.
Red Chomps are basically the only chomp you'd want to use.

It looks like it's gonna be anyone's game. Assuming Star Counts remain the same, the following can happen:
1. Everyone but Jon gets only 1 bonus star (specifically, the stars are Shopping, Red, & Orb/Running). Emile wins on coin count.
2. Emile gets 2 bonus stars (Action & Shopping). This gives him an automatic victory, as he wins in the event of coin count.
3. AI gets at least 2 bonus stars (Action & Red). Unless Emile gets the third bonus star (which gives him 2 bonus stars as he has Action too), this gives the AI the win automatically.
4. Tim gets 2 bonus stars (Orb & Running). Automatic win unless Jon gets the 3rd bonus star, which ties them.
5. Jon gets 1 bonus star (Minigame). He wins unless Emile or the AI get 2 of the bonus stars, and ties Tim if the latter gets 2.
But since this is Mario Party, and this is Pyramid Park (which seems to hate Jon on a level akin to Mario Party 3), anything can happen.
Also, the above stats are assuming chomp rolls count for the running star. Correct me if I'm wrong.

"Splatoon 2 specials take no skill to use"
Uhh, excuse me? The reason they got rid of things like Bubbler or Kraken is because they made you invincible. That by default makes the specials unbalanced as hell. None of the specials currently in Splat 2 make you fully invincible, which is an improvement. Splatoon 2 specials usually are not a 1 hit kill as well. Kraken, Inkstrike, Killer Wail, and Inkzooka were usually instant death, which was also unbalanced. The only reason Ink Armor "takes no skill" is because you can support your team over protecting yourself. And it's harder than you'd think to hit with Tenta Missiles. Aiming the Inkjet's shots is also harder than the Inkzooka was.
It’s this kind of topic that shows how long ago this was actually recorded, because now many of the complaints have died down.

3:35 Running water doesn't KILL vampires, but they can't pass over it. Something similar happens in the tale of the Headless Horseman, where Ichibod Crane has to make it to the bridge in time because the ghost can't pass over the river. The idea is that water is a source of life and something that's undead or unholy wouldn't want to go near something so potent. With rivers it makes sense - anyone who's finished 6th grade history can tell you about the Tigres and Euphrates or the Nile and how living things THRIVE near rivers. But like, holding a vampire's hand under the tap or in front of a garden hose isn't gonna do jack shit.
I'm really amused by imagery of some country guy firing his hose at a slowly approach vampire, who is just getting more and more annoyed because his suit is getting more and more drenched.

Vampires got so many darn weaknesses and powers that we could write an entire book about it and get confused when things start self-contradicting each other. Then argue and fight about it.
Another weird Vampire misconception is tomato products. Dracula couldn't be near marinara products because marinara has garlic, but some people think that vampires are weak to tomato products because they're red like blood. Even weirder is how this misconception stands even though many stories claim that vampires have keen senses of smell, being able to detect humans, blood, etc over fairly long distances-- they'd never mistake tomato for blood, they smell completely different.
To add another oddball to the list, in Japan vampires are often viewed as a similar demon to oni, and have been given oni weaknesses, like beans. Some people also think they're weak to silver, like werewolves.

Wow, I have no idea who is going to win at this point. There is no clear indication of who the winner is. It can be anyone's game and I love it. I don't care who wins (not that I ever did in the first place) but this game has been intense and full of funny moments. THIS is what TRG is about, not about who wins or loses, but the good times and laughter they bring with their videos.

I have to say, it has been a really long time since we had a board this ridiculous. It is going to come down to bonus stars and even then, I think just about everybody has a fair shot at any of the bonus stars.
Chain Chomps do not count for the Running Star.
Shoot, I thought Tim is not going to win even he got a free star from DK before, but it changed! Thanks to the red chain chomp and the Duel, he cought up! And everyone else has the curse of the low roll.

I'm actually surprised about the results so far, since when I play, it always sticks to 5 stars, never as diverse as here. Then again, I played with CPU only, so you know.

No, Emile, running water BLOCKS OFF vampires, they simply can't cross it, even flying. Works the same way as vampires not being able to enter a home uninvited.
It's not that running water kills vampires per se, it's that vampires cannot cross moving water. This is partially due to most cultures viewing moving water as a pure thing (as opposed to stagnant) and sometimes holy, as opposed to the stagnation that vampires were typically attributed.

It's getting a tiny bit annoying whenever any of them jump to that conclusion. Think tank usually always felt pretty even. If anything it's weighted towards the 3 for being able to split the big tank's focus. Pogo-a-go-go is for sure weighted towards the three. I don't think I've ever lost that one as the three, but always struggle to win as the one. As long as you pay attention to the jets which show the change in direction pretty slowly, it's an easy win.
Very few mini games are weighted towards the 1 player in 7. I found it very easy to juke the 1 player out in flash fight. Think that’s what it’s called.

For those who were wondering what the Chain Chomp on Bowser's Wheel was in the last 4 Turns;
It was also a half price on the Chain Chomp prices.
Oh jeez, this could go any way. This is one of the closest Mario Party games I've ever witnessed.
Oh yeah, and it only will get more chaotic in the Classics. The only Classic Mario Party for the Wii is 8. I know 8 is much maligned, but I have played it and I actually found it charming.

+NyteStealth I know which one you're talking about. The Shy Guy themed board. Personally, I liked the Koopa Hotel board because it forced the coin hoarders to actually use 'em.
One thing I definitely remember from this game was how easy it was to slip off the edges of the platform gaps in Pogo-a-Go-Go and fall in to them, so you had to be precise with your movements, which isn't easy since your constantly jumping on a pogo stick.
Tim almost missed using his Snack Orb on the Chain Chomp. But at 16:40, he succeeded on Dry Bones's turn. (NOTE: In MARIO PARTY 7, the SNACK ORB is a self orb. It protects you for 3 turns. If an opponent uses a Chain Chomp on you, you throw a bone at the Chain Chomp when he is after your stars. It allows you to chase away a Chain Chomp by throwing a bone for him to go after when he runs after your stars.) As for Tim, he missed the first two turns of the Snack Orb. But he succeeded it on the third and final turn of it.
BTW, in the previous two installments of the MARIO PARTY series (MARIO PARTY 5 and MARIO PARTY 6), the Bone Capsule/Snack Orb was a blue orb. In Mario Party 5, it was hidden on every board. And it acted like a Boo Repellent/Gaddlight (from MARIO PARTY 3 and MARIO PARTY 4). The Chain Chomp replaced Boo (as Boo became a playable character in MARIO PARTY 5). The Chain Chomp Capsule was only in 5. And it functioned like the Boo items from Mario Party 3 and 4. However, it would steal coins for free or a star for 30 coins. If the victim had a Bone Capsule, they could scare away the Chain Chomp by throwing a bone to it when he was after their coins or stars.
In 6, the Snack Orb only appeared in one board. And that was Snowflake Lake. Like in 5, it would be used automatically. If a Chain Chomp ran after the player's stars, the victim could use the Snack Orb to throw a bone at the Chain Chomp to scare him away. But in 7, it's now a self orb. And so, it's no longer used automatically. It instead protects you from a Chain Chomp for three turns. And if a Chain Chomp is after your stars, you can throw a bone at it to scare him away.
So I am talking about Tim with the Snack Orb. And now I am comparing the Bone Capsule/Snack Orb in Mario Party 7 to its appearance from Mario Party 5 and 6 (the previous two installments in the series). The Chain Chomp Capsule (from Mario Party 5) has been compared to the Boo items from the previous installments (Mario Party 3 and 4). But that only appeared in Mario Party 5. Pink Boo Houses (in Mario Party 6) were like the Boo House (from 3 and 4). Pink Boo, she would steal coins for 5 coins or a star for 50 coins. But if the victim had a Boo Away Orb (which was like the Boo protecting items from Mario Party 3 and 4), they could scare away a Pink Boo when she was after their coins or stars.
This is anyone's game at this point. Which means its a good game of Mario Party.

Typically running water doesn't KILL vampires, they're just physically incapable of crossing it. So if someone somehow started a continuous flow of running water directly over a vampire, they'd be trapped.

Hmm with the talk of what the roulette can do during the last 5 turns, I wonder if there are any Mario Party games where you can force those modifiers to be active all game. It would be neat if they added things to shake up the game a little more for variety as long as they were optional.

The crossing running water thing is not only for vampires but an re-occuring detail in the myth of many kinds of magical beings. and it's more often rivers and streams than waterfalls, since you can't exactly cross over a waterfall... I've read it a couple times in literature and most of the time it's been used to trap demons of some sort.
Water being symbolical of life so people have believed it to be effective against the forces of the dead.

NyteStealth I seen that mini game multiple times and I never seen the ai get the picture wrong. It’s not just that mini game. Other times this has happened and in order to beat the ai, you have to go fast or the ai will beat you

I haven't played Splatoon 2 in about a year. It was fun, especially Salmon Run, but all the Splatfests happen while I'm at work. With paid online now, I'm thinking of just selling it. I'll get online when Animal Crossing or Crystal Chronicles comes out.

1:25 They do actually take skill. The Sting ray can be useful but only if you can aim it. Also, if you don't know where to aim it in Tower control while your team being on the tower, it's almost useless.

9:25 Half right but the Chain Chomps are actually Half off from what I've read from the Instruction Booklet.
I have no idea why Mario Party 8 has no multiple events for a "Last 5 Turns" event (called in the game as "Chump Charity") unlike the previous 7 out of the first eight installments (if counting the 8 installments of the Mario Party series which are for home console; and minus Mario Party Advance).
Let me tell you what this event does in Mario Party 8 instead. On Party Tent, the last place player (or team on Tag Battle) gets a Duel Candy, then Mc Ballyhoo's hat Big Top showers the board with coins. Each Red Space gets a coin bag (which is 5 coins each) and each Blue Space gets a coin (which is 1 coin each). Blue Spaces get 1 coin and Red Spaces get coin bags. But their value (aside from the coins/coin bags) remains the same. Blue Spaces and Red Spaces are still worth 3 coins.
If you're on Koopa's Tycoon Town, the last place player gets 30 coins (20 coins for the last place team on Tag Battle). Duelo Candy for the last place player/team happens on every board; with the exception made for Koopa's Tycoon Town.
It might come down to the bonus stars for this.
Right now the AI has the best chance of winning, but there ARE a few turns left. Anything can happen.
