cars like the Sonata are roomy, ride nice, handle well, economical and have just enough features to make you feel like you're driving a true luxury car. That's why you want one. And there's nothing wrong with that.
I'm single and looking at mid-sized sedans too. I'm fine with the size of a small car and like the fuel economy. But small cars tend to be cheap cars with fewer features.
How did that go for you? I got the same car a few years ago it’s a piece of crap the engine will seize and then when they replace it it’ll seize again

I bought the sport version of this car new through True Car (on line) for a little over 19K (MRSP 24,5K) before charges. Love it. It even gets over 40 mpg on the highway at certain times. No issues, lots of room and comfort. ECO lags on the highway as expected but the tranny slips a little after parking it, not sure if that is normal. So quiet sometimes I forget to turn it off!
For a base trim and it has the nice touch screen and a physical key is a win for me. Only hope this is available with a spare tire and if so I main have found my next car. Great review!
"Pretty good, of course". Pretty standard; pretty nice; pretty pretty and , of course, pretty! I couldn't help but notice the radio/media controls were considerably different than those in MY 2016 Sonata, of course.
Sounds and looks very good for its price. You should've also drove it as well so we can get a better idea. Besides that your explaination was thorough enough overall.
do you have review for VW Passat. Am confused between these two. VW has more brand value.. Also in terms of maintanence costs, which do you think is the cheapest? ( between VW, hyundai, Ford, Toyota and Subaru mid sized sedans)
Great review, thank you. I'm stuck between the SE or upgrading to the Sport. Worried about the 17" low profiles in the snow (Buffalo), and possible reduction in smoothness as far as the ride goes. The LED fog lights and the power driver seat sure are tempting though.
lol, the 2015 wasn't average when it came to interior space. it was huge. i'm 5'9 and could barely rest my elbow on the inside left door while resting my hand on the steering wheel. as a matter of fact the reach was so long it was uncomfortable. the back seats also had at least a full foot of leg room or more. if there's anything the 2015 sonata didn't have was a lack of interior space. it was huge. sadly this model isn't more stylish than the 2015. in fact it is less stylish because it omits the LED running lights that the 2015 had. this is rather boring, but at least the 2018 looks like a vicious beast.
Thwompthing I laugh my ass off at the people who say the interior space in this car is just average. I’m 5’9 to and one time I had taken my grandmother to get some test done and it took over 2 hours so I laid down in the backseat and took a nap and slept like a baby the whole time. Apparently she pounded on the window for like 5 minuets before I woke up...
Just got a 2016 Sonata Sport with low mileage in excellent condition for $10k. Has most options with a technology package. Would have preferred the 2.0T but couldn't pass up the good deal👍
@@tbrwn2548 Sounds too good to be True. Sometimes salvage titles are way under market value or they just wanted to get rid of it. This what God provided so no complaints here 💯👍🙏
Some people think that the Japanese and American automakers are better than the Korean automakers such as Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis. However, The Kia, and the Hyundai offer more features that you don't find in many of the competitors out there such as heated and ventilated front seats, as well as heated rear seats, panoramic sunroof, hands-free smart trunk, heated steering wheel, 4 way power lumbar, rear sunshades, etc. Both Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis offer a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty that you don't find in many automakers out there. So if I were to buy a car, I would get the Hyundai, or the Kia.
My brother owns one I've driven it at least 20 times I own the 2012 Sonata turbo edition The 2016 version looks better on the outside but I prefer the speed of the 2012 model way more
The engines have a recall, they start to leak/burn oil over time to the point where it can’t even make it to the next oil change without having to add oil. That will start around 80-100k miles. I was unhappy when I made the post overall the car was fine besides that and I liked it. I still have it actually they replaced my engine for free because of the recall. It was because I kept up with my oil changes-and kept record of it they honored it. I also kept adding oil to try to prevent it .I actually had my car die, got it started, then had it checked out they said it was fine. I had the oil changed then later that day the engine seized. Within a couple weeks or so they replaced it for me.
@@yungant867 There is also a paint recall for the white Sonatas, Elantra’s, Santa fe and others too I believe. I think grey cars also get it too. My paint came off my roof literally 4times. Around 80k miles paint came off roof then got it repainted for free and less than a year later it comes off. Got it repainted 3 times it’s off right now planning to go back for the 4th time. I think if I paint it black it’ll stay on and match with my tints
thanks for the response, i was thinking about buying a 2016 hyundai sonata limited at 103k miles on it, 5 year warranty on the engine… for $10,500 do you think its still worth buying?
As a young single with no family, I'm not sure why I want a full sized sedan, but I do.

The only big cars are left is the Toyota Avalon and the Dodge Charger
Sonata is midsized
Bought my 2016 Sonata last month. Love it...especially the Touchscreen, the backup Camera, and the Sport Mode. Love this Car. #TeamHyundai

My VW Passat is closer to luxury.. Lmao
+Heartagram LOL! Enjoy dude.

The Passat is BORING and forgetable.
***** Take a ride in a Sonata and then a Passat..The Sonata is poorly built LOL. Not to mention the ride quality is poor.
What color did you pick? I got it in blue and highly regret it
I just purchased a 2016 model 32K MI from Hertz only 13K and it still has all the warranty's
jagslion3 how's the reliability and mpg?? I'm trying to buy one for 13K and 35k miles
I hate watching this guy touch interior of cars! Yet, I still find myself watching

Why is there a water bottle on the ground next to the car?
Why is there no Apple Car play for Sonata 2016????? even though it has Android Auto..
It does have CarPlay.
How??? I’m having the same problem
nice looking hyundai
Sonata fits under the Large Sedan class...
Do the hybrid model!

The big rims look sexy but they do make for a harsher ride. And replacement tires are more expensive.

I think the 2013 and 2014 hyundai sonota are better looking than the 2016. however, that's my opinion.
Any tips on what to clean this almost WHITE interior with? I can't even tell for sure what the material is in mine
Awesome brand cleaner, make sure to dulute with a little water and use a magic eraser
Supposedly the 2017 is going to get a new look. I like the front on the current model but I'd like to see the back end redesigned.
Yes, it carries over unchanged.
Matthew's Car Corner ....I got ahead of myself. it seem the '18 Sonata is getting a new look.
I think the lip spoiler gives it a sporty look love it !!!😍🚗👌
Is this the base model? Because I’m getting one but it doesn’t say it has a 7 inch screen or backup camera 🤔🤔🤔
2:33 mmUUUUch more roomy.
great car and review!!!

Yep very fuel efficient 25 city and 38 in the highway awesome 👌
Is that napolian dynamites brother???
That engine sound is normal in this engine?
Sonata looks Camry-ish. Good thing I got the 2012 model before they tampered with the design.

SONATA
Oh my God they killed the car, the old Sonata looks better.....
No way. The 15'-16' model looks classy as hell. For some reason these cars look way better in person.
Rafael Caminero i agree
It looks way too basic on the inside for the day and age we're in today nice on the outside though
