How's it holding up? Bought mine at 73,400mi a yr ago. Only issue I've had is 'refill inverter coolant' notification. Car started shifting a bit rougher-mind you it was during colder temp in LA. Took it into the dealership for 75,000mi scheduled maintenance (replace oil and air filter, inspecting brake system, suspension, battery, alignment, multi-point inspection, cooling system fluid exchange, adjust tire pressure per carb). The diagnostic recommended I needed immediate attention required for: the alignment-$130, brake fluid flush-$160, decarb service-$280, and transmission serv.-$280. I opted for just the alignment. Ended up forking over $577. Two recall operations were found; perform update to the HEV air filtr, and perform update to main/power relay/cable. Both requiring special order parts they said needed ordering. I've yet to hear back from them re: the recall parts.
Sofyan, I usually love your reviews but that music is distracting as hell. It's mixed too high to begin the video - I had to turn the volume down - and then when you cut to the actual beginning of your review I had to crank the volume back up. ...and before anyone says "If it's too loud, you're too old," I can out-rock just about any young pup!
I just bought a Sonata Hybrid Limited Ultimate and I absolutely love it! It's a lot like an Equus minus the V8, air suspension, and rear seat controls. It really does feel like a step or two above the Accord and Camry it competes with despite what "non-car people" will say just because of Hyundai's unfortunate reputation.
I wonder how Ford will step up to this challenge. A new Fusion hybrid is expected in 2017 that will be refreshed. For now, this Sonata has the edge! I enjoyed this review very much. Sir, I would like to know if the Rumors are True that Kia will be bringing back the Exterior Color: Blue and be Offering the Blue Interior color of the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for the New 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid EX later this year?!?
As far as this car goes. I have a fully loaded R/T Charger that I race, I hate to daily drive it honestly bc it's such a nice ride. Honestly out of it's competition I would get the Sonata Hybrid. This would be the perfect cash car in my opinion, Good Luxury, Good Tech, adequate power. That's the perfect balance in my opinion. At 41mpg combined with gas prices at $1.67 in my area, I could care less about MPG. So what would I do to it to make it mine? Tinted windows, 20's would fill the wheel wells up nice, and that's it honestly. It's a nice ride. And it's efficient. Nice Job Hyundai.
Great Job Sofyan as usual. I am suprised that you like this vehicle. I am curious how the Optima hybrid will be. Are you all going to get the X1 or GLC anytime soon?
+shivam220 I personally liked this more than the Camry and Fusion Hybrid, the stepped automatic is really my favorite feature and it makes the car feel more normal. Hyundai did a great job refining the overall powertrain for this new one. I haven't had a chance to full test an Accord Hybrid, but that should change soon. -Sofyan
im not a big hybrid fan but with driving 100+ miles a day, its not a bad idea. Looking forward to your opinions on the accord. Be cool if you do a feature where you talk about all the hybrid sedan segments and whats a better option.
+Keanu Umpherville Trust us, we've been asking Ford for the new RS, but sadly, it's not available in our DC market just yet, we'll get one though. We're just as eager to test it as you all are ;)
what Camry has they call eCVT but really it has no transmission at all. just two electric motors. this is good because no transmission to break but bad because of the way it sounds which is even worse than an actual CVT because in addition to the engine drone it also has electric motor whine.
It's basically a gas powered car, that stores power from braking to a special battery. Then when the battery builds enough power, the car's computer can switch to electric power in times of high gas usage, giving you better mpg. For example take-off. When you take off, you use a lot of gas. Electric powered cars have more power in take off, and they use no gas. So adding up the gas savings from take off, and quick acceleration, hybrids save you a lot of gas. The next step is a plug-in hybrid. This works in a similar way, but instead of building it's own power, you have to plug it in to charge the battery. Im 99% certain you can still drive these cars on a dead battery, the hybrid battery, and still get good mpg. That's what changed my mind about hybrids when I was told that. Sorry it took 3 years for you to get an answer. Hope it helped.
18.47 sec, he say he's been averaging 33mpg, can someone explain me why is that, I tough that the car is supposed to give you a minimum of 38mpg in the city and 40+ Highway, I'm buying this car this week and I'm confused now

The reviewer touts the automatic as a positive, but that's exactly why it trails the Accord in both MPG and performance. The Accord eliminates the transmission which results in less drivetrain loss. And it's another thing that will break down at 100,001 miles.
In my opinion the only time you get your moneys worse than buying a hybrid is when you buy it used I would wait three the four years before I would buy this car and you probably can get it for around $13,000

Hyundai really got it right with the gearbox. Too many competitors use a CVT which is just hopeless and unnecessary.
Not really. CVT's are the most efficient gearboxes out there, and they're faster than a traditional automatic due to it not having to change gears.
+Viktor Freesmeier You know why almost no one likes a CVT ? expensive service and they kill the driving experience.
