I know this is an "old" video now but it seems like no one else ever mentions or addresses *why* the GPU-Z bioses (and all the files you will find on Techpowerup, etc.) are 512kB and not 1MB. This is the only place I see it ever mentioned other than bios editing of RX *6000* cards which say if you use a 512kB BIOS you will brick your card. Newer versions of GPU-Z extract a 1MB BIOS for those cards now but still you get 512kB for 5000 cards. Nobody seems to have a problem with this or rarely ever mentions it on forums, etc. I've seen a few mentions but the question just goes unanswered and nobody bats an eye? Only other reference I can find is that the last 512kB of the BIOSes on 5000 cards are just filled with 0xff (1111 1111) or it's all 0000s (not sure since again nobody says for sure), so I guess it doesn't matter? Nonetheless since using the 1MB BIOSes seems to work in RBE and when flashing, I think I'm going to take that route like you did here, esp. since my card is only single BIOS.
Yea, and 7000 series has a vBios that is Over 1 MB and RBE won't even open the file. But for 5000 series the difference doesn't matter as long as the MorePowerTool and RBE can read it
I bios flashed my RX 5700 reference card to the XT version what do you think that would be an optimal clockspeed? Atm I am running 2040mhz with 1099mv, 1830 mhz vram and maximum power boost. I am a total layman on this stuff and totally clueless maybe I shouldnt have flashed it in the first place lol
My channel is played out with RX 5700 content, this was just a refresh video on how to bios mod or mem mod. Search RX 5700, and you will find all the data you need, at this point it is played out.
"SSID over-riding used to be supported on older AMDVBFLASH, but not implemented in AMDVBFLASH that support RX 7900 series." You might want to grab the latest version if you are trying to flash newer cards. If older cards, then try to force flash again on 3.04+ from igors lab NOT Guru3d
They have no thermal pads on the backside of the PCB, and they should. It is winter right now so the max I saw was 88C but when summer hits, I am going to have a problem....
Gaming and mining use different settings. In mining you want to get as many MH/s with the lowest power draw possible. In gaming you normally do the opposite, you push the GPU to the limits.
I have same 5700xt PowerColor but my bio got corrupted somehow - is this bio version available someone where online - checked techpowerup but couldn't find the exact one.
I can't download Flash Tool 3.04+ Win, I've tried both Mirror links and get a bunch of popups with virus messages and such...this is a brand new setup, so I'd prefer not to get a bunch of malware...amy other way I can get that file?
You can take your 5600 XT stock bios, and combined with the Red bios editor and MorePowerTool tool. You can get the same effect. Look up Igors lab MorePowerTool
is there a way to convert radeon software performance tuning .xml profile to something suitable to be used by red bios editor and actually flash it to bios ? thank you
No. Radeon Pro W5700 is build with RDNA 1.0 architecture, and Radeon RX 5700 XT - with Navi / RDNA. Try seeing if you can load the gpu in the MorePowerTool or RedBiosEditor, make sure to save the original bios first and see if you can tune it at your own risk. But no you cant
I do step by step the same thing, when I restart.the pc/ the card not there I can reset the bois to the original. But do not understand that this bois mod does not work anyone an idea ? thx
Is the GPU not showing in device manager? Right click the Windows Start menu in the bottom left, and click Device Manager. Check if GPU is there, and reinstall AMD drivers. Then let me know in more detail what you are seeing.
@@SerpentXTech I don't see the Card in window task manager. I have done all the updates also after that I have the new bois.I have also tried to only adjust the 1500mv and not change the other settings.also without success.
You can always flash it back if it fails. just boot, load atiflash and reload stock bios. Thats why I recommended to always back up before you attempt to mod. You can use a system with an integrated GPU or another Desktop GPU.
@@SerpentXTech yes, figured out that i can run my card on quiet mode, on gpu there is dual bios switcher, so reflashed to stock bios. But after that cant even mining on lowest posible srttings, crashing all the time. Strange.

The best Powercolor RX5700XT BIOS mod video instructions.

Very detailed info! Thanks for sharing this! Now all I need it the GPU!
Hope this video will solve the myth of not able to flash the modded bios with error message within the amdvbflash. 👍🏻
Thanks for the useful vids. Have you bios updated a 6700 XT as yet?
Not yet, don't have RX 6700 XT yet.... but stay tuned....
Did u change the thermal pads on this powercolor 5700xt can u make a guide on it ?

Oh alright I’ll definitely try it out thanks for the response.
how do i uninstall the insttool64.exe/ AMD tools driver after done flashing?
Why didnt you just use powershell in the directory?
I tried to flash bios but my amd drivers can find my gpu...Device Manager shows my Aorus 5700XT with Yellow triangle
I have 2 of these and despise them. Memory temps are impossible to control and have had to clock them down to like 48mh to stay below 92 degrees.
Mine crashes past 90 something mem (green screen). Horrible card.
