5700 PULSE USERS! I suggest undervolting your card too with a max of 1000-1050 mV cause 1200mV is overkill. Worked for my Pulse flashed 5700XT. With this, and an aggressive fan curve (around 60-65% max speed) my max temp was 62-64 degrees under 100% gpu load with clocks reaching up to 1890mhz (way more than amd’s artificial locked frequency boost). I use MSi afterburner and also set the limit clock to 1905mhz. Any higher and it’ll be too hot and will throttle itself. If anyone else got better results on the 5700 Sapphire Pulse please let us know, As amazing as this card is, it’s sad that Amd stomps it’s potential for greatness
I tried doing it in safe mode and it wouldn't work. For whatever reason the program kept closing saying I needed administrator access even though I opened it as administrator. I was using the Windows (not DOS) version of ATI Flash so maybe that had something to do with it. I ended up doing it in regular Windows and everything worked out fine.
Tried this with my Gigabyte 5700 Gaming OC and ended up reverting to the stock BIOS because I was getting blue screens all the time, not to mention the GPU fans were spinning like crazy. I also run a 1080p 144Hz display, and the non-XT 5700 already exceeds 144FPS in most games anyways, so it just isn't necessary for me.
I did seem to increase my 3DMark Time Spy score by 10%. Flashed Bios for XFX RX 5700 to now a XFX RX 5700XT. Runs a couple degrees hotter after gaming for a few hours. Not a huge difference but fun to do.
Worked like a charm!! Unfortunately the card (MSI RX 5700 Mech) doesn't have a decent enough cooler and actually throttles quite a bit so the performance gain was minimal. Definitely need a custom PCB with a beefy cooler to make the most of this.

Great video as always. I do have a bit of a random question for you since this you are using a 5700 right now. I am having a problem where mine crashes to a black screen then my PC resets as soon as the GPU hits 70c. I know this is the problem as I can duplicate the issue when doing tests on furmark. Is this a problem you have ever experienced, and is there anything you can suggest on fixing this issue? I am considering taking the back off and seeing if changing the thermal paste helps at all as I have heard that can. Anyway thanks for your time to anyone reading this and I appreciate any advice. Built the system in December and this just started happening last week.
So interestingly I've been running my 5700 as a 5700XT for almost 2 years now. Only today the clock and memory speeds dropped to zero and I had to reflash it as a 5700. No longer will it work when flashed as a 5700XT. Anyone else experience this?
That gaming x looks like an even better bludgeoning tool than my nitro+ 5700xt. MSI really seems to like the '2 big boi fans and a big boi heatsink' mantra.
HEy brian great tutorial video as always man. tks. For me as much as i want to support AMD i had to put my rx 5700 pulse for sale cause i have had it with the driver issues , i mean i tried , the card is a great card , and it was running with less issues than some people out there with the adrenaline 20.1.2, as soon as 20.1.3 came out i installed it and my pc transformed into a buggy pile of s....! got back to my old GTX970 and became a happy man again, and as crazy as it may sound there are some games where i can actually have more performance. never had AMD card before and when i decided to change this all driver thing gets in the way and ruins my experience and downgrades my opinion on AMD software. so for now, "fanboyisms" apart no AMD for me. Cheers and keep it up
Just used more power tool on mine. Run 2000mhz 1.1v and it matches my old 5700xt stock with slightly better temps (due to less voltage than stock 5700xt).
After the shitstorm that is the RX 6000 series card releases and not being able to grab a card, i'm seriously thinking about taking my saved up money and just buying a custom full water loop and flashing my 5700... crank up my components as much as possible. It's the reference blower style card as well so no more thermal throttling (even though it rarely happens, it still do happen from time to time). I got a feeling that it will take a while for GPU stock to get back up to speed so I think i'll be sticking with my 5700 for a while.
No point in the 5600 XT. The RX 5700 can be had for $309 US now, and sometimes even lower. $20-30 more for something that can be turned into something 20-25% faster than the 5600 XT.
The thing is, the one part of the PC that I ever had to return due to malfunction several times over the years are graphics cards! I do not think it is worth saving some money to void your precious warranty which can wield you a bland new card later if it breaks down within warranty.
Just put a cleaning solution in it and put the hardware into it! Having the piece you want to clean a little bit above the bottom of the Cleaner helps performance somewhat.
MEXGriiM The RX5700XT performs around the same as a GTX1080 and GTX1080ti (in some games, which in turn performs around the same as a GTX2070 and GTX2070 Super (in some games.) I have a Aorus GTX1070 Extreme, Aorus GTX1080ti Waterforce and a Sapphire RX5700 (non XT.) The jump from a GTX1070 to a GTX1080ti is very noticable (for me.) So yes it is a jump up, but the question is are you willing to spend around €350,00 / €400,00 (The Netherlands pricing) for the jump. Hope this helps 😉
So I got the most stripped back version - the Power Color AMD Radeon RX 5700. No dragon. No devil. No XT. Straight Kirkland brand stuff here. Two fans. No LEDs. My question is what XT bios would work on my machine? I see there is a Power Color 5700 XT with 8 GB and specifically says "dual fan" - is that my best bet?
Thx for the Vid... I just flashed my MSI 5700 Gaming X. Some improvement.... 6-10fps. But flashed back to original ROM. With the 5700XT Gaming X ROM insanely loud, temperatures 15-20 °K higher and the power consumption doubled... No way! For example Fire Strike... Normal 5700: 8123 points... 61 °C, 105W, 1150 rpm.... flashed 5700 XT: 8357 points... 81°C, 231W, 1860rpm.... Sorry but this is stupid! My opinion: Don't flash your 5700
Overclock cap is 1850 on stock 5700. You can use a registry modding tool called more power tool without flashing and get the same result as flashing tho.
i have to ask, Why would you recommend someone to use gpu-z to save the bios when atiflash does the save thing by just clicking save? i've heard gpu-z wasn't the best for this task but anyway just curious as to your reasoning thanks
You can try the more power tool when you dont want to play with the vbios. You will also get better results but you can melt your card when you are using a stupid amount of power without proper cooling.

Considering the core count of the 5600 xt and the fact that they use the exact same pcb and ram modules as the 5700(at least in the case of my gigabyte gaming oc 5600 xt), what are the chances that you could add ram modules to a 5600xt and flash it to a 5700?
Another great video YES-Man!
Tech Yes Man .... have enjoyed your vids for a long time now keep up the great work. I have a question, I bought an Asrock Phantom Gaming D 5700 XT ... the cooler looks about identical to the Taichi model ... would i be able to flash a Taichi Bios to it for the extra 100+ mhz on the core clock without having to overclock it to get there?
you already answered it for me in your video thanks man
Thanks very much for this video legend!
Very good video
im having trouble I have the XFX DD ULTRA and there are just so many options for the regular 5700 and the XT im just not sure which to choose
Thanks, it worked just fine for me
Great video as always.
Just did it, great stuff
Great video mate
Dude, your thumbnails are scaring me!
can you do a ryzen 5 3600 overclocking guide please
So interestingly I've been running my 5700 as a 5700XT for almost 2 years now. Only today the clock and memory speeds dropped to zero and I had to reflash it as a 5700. No longer will it work when flashed as a 5700XT. Anyone else experience this?
You still have your 5700?
@@Miley_00 Still have it but it mostly gathers dust in the backup PC
Thanks worked great for me!
Thank you for those instructions.
Thanks Yesman, very appreciated.
FREE performance YES mate!! :)
Simply Awesome. Thanks! :)
Cheers and keep it up
Justo el vídeo que buscaba, gracias :)
Hiciste la modificación?
I respect your reviews. Can you review the Artic Freezer ii 360 vs Arctic Freezer ii 280?
Liked and commented.... now to watch...
Fightin the good fight!
@@MarcoGPUtuber Excellent video with detailed info on how to flash a card. I can say this is a 10/10.
Thanks! This was helpful!!!
Sooooo sleepy, but have to watch the yes man do his thing first! 😴🌜
IT WORKS THX A LOT
No point in the 5600 XT. The RX 5700 can be had for $309 US now, and sometimes even lower. $20-30 more for something that can be turned into something 20-25% faster than the 5600 XT.
I fing love you bro!
Wait... Can someone tell me if I should buy a 5700 xt or just buy a 5700 and do the stuff he did in this video.????
will this process void the warranty ?
I have a 5700 sapphire pluse, keen to try this bios, do u think the cooler will handle the jandle?
The thing is, the one part of the PC that I ever had to return due to malfunction several times over the years are graphics cards!
I do not think it is worth saving some money to void your precious warranty which can wield you a bland new card later if it breaks down within warranty.
I can't find compatible bios for asus rx 5700 Evo oc , do you have anything to recommend? Thanks , great video!!
Loved the video. I have one of those Ultrasonic Cleaner and I don't know how to use it.
Just put a cleaning solution in it and put the hardware into it!
Having the piece you want to clean a little bit above the bottom of the Cleaner helps performance somewhat.
Can I flash my 2080super to 2080ti? 😀
Nice video and cheers.
Please make next video on flashing the rx 5600 XT to 5700....
The thing is, the 5600xt has a memory chip missing so it's actually not possible
@@ruinedbow4990, may be quadro RTX 8000😂😂😂
This was easy as fuck, omg you the goat for this one
Should I not do this on my blower 5700? I am sad I did not buy the better one :(
Would you do this even on a blower style RX 5700?
The last time I flashed anything was at work and I was written up by HR, but my boss Nilay Potatel gave me a raise.
Loving my 5700 with XT bios.. still managed to undervolt..
Still ok the GPU?
Yeah well I have the F 5700 reference model. Maybe not such a great idea to flash it?
Well, maybe with a custom fan profile...
i flashed it then i flashed it back and restarted and now nothing’s showing on my monitor???
Got mine flashed and clocked to the standard XT 1905mhz and undervolted to 1.075 with custom fan curve
hey bryan what do you think about upgrading from a gtx 1070 to rx 5700 xt?
MEXGriiM The RX5700XT performs around the same as a GTX1080 and GTX1080ti (in some games, which in turn performs around the same as a GTX2070 and GTX2070 Super (in some games.)
I have a Aorus GTX1070 Extreme, Aorus GTX1080ti Waterforce and a Sapphire RX5700 (non XT.)
The jump from a GTX1070 to a GTX1080ti is very noticable (for me.) So yes it is a jump up, but the question is are you willing to spend around €350,00 / €400,00 (The Netherlands pricing) for the jump.
Hope this helps 😉
@@MrJohnLongbow thank you very much :D
11-14 fps more for 499 bucks lets gooooo
So I got the most stripped back version - the Power Color AMD Radeon RX 5700. No dragon. No devil. No XT. Straight Kirkland brand stuff here. Two fans. No LEDs. My question is what XT bios would work on my machine? I see there is a Power Color 5700 XT with 8 GB and specifically says "dual fan" - is that my best bet?
how long do u guys think that a bios flashed 5700 is gonna last before it breaks down?
Next video - flash RX 570 into a RX5700
Thx for the Vid... I just flashed my MSI 5700 Gaming X. Some improvement.... 6-10fps. But flashed back to original ROM. With the 5700XT Gaming X ROM insanely loud, temperatures 15-20 °K higher and the power consumption doubled... No way! For example Fire Strike... Normal 5700: 8123 points... 61 °C, 105W, 1150 rpm.... flashed 5700 XT: 8357 points... 81°C, 231W, 1860rpm.... Sorry but this is stupid! My opinion: Don't flash your 5700
did you downvolted your moded XT?
if someone use 5700xt gpu with 5700 bios, bios update can be nice solution. otherwise use MSIafterburner over clicking can be more easy & safe.
Will Ati winflash work to flash the 5700?
You can try the more power tool when you dont want to play with the vbios. You will also get better results but you can melt your card when you are using a stupid amount of power without proper cooling.
