I’ve seen Hondas at gold pull off some pretty sick combos, they also use his hand attack (?) for pressure and to get plus. Seems like he plays the same way every time. He tries to headbutt at the start of the game a couple times and then things cascade. Also he never uses EX butt stomp, which is the actual anti-air.
You know, I am not a SF guy, but because of these videos I got some other people recommended and just thought to check them out. The difference in how they progress to Master is just astounding. Yeah, they might not win all the matches, but we are talking about constant 10+ win streaks while they look like they don't even try. Yes, there are differences between characters, but seriously, if you are truly good with your character, you should defeat these people with one arm behind your back.
Not just the gameplay but the mentality, too. Most Master players don't whine about every misplay under the guise of "the game cheated me, the other guy sucks!", they analyze what went wrong and try to fix it.

My favorite is the Dee Jay at 28:05. He was absolutely screwing around with Fill and the constant throwing, which he could not defend against, was just so spicy.
Also, Phail is a great example for why the SF6 ranking system is skewed towards ranking you up to get you hooked on playing it. He has been just mashing his face against the wall, sucking terribly along the way, and even he got eventually to Master via pure grinding.

Well many pros consider Ken, Cammy, and Juri as top tier characters for good reasons. Luke is kinda up there too. But yeah Jamie and Ryu aren’t too bad if you have enough MU knowledge on them.

The most frustrating thing about watching him play this is that he’s his own worst enemy, like he *could* be a decent SF player, not super great or anything but decent, but his attitude is *so* awful and he just gives up instantly that instead of having any fun with the game or learning from matches he just grinds out this meaningless shit all so he can brag about it, I guess?
My favorite part is when he says the games lost due to matchup before it even starts. Phil will never be competitive in anything due to that mindset. Sport psychologists would have a field day with him.

He actually did yesterday. I was a bit infuriated with some of his opponents yesterday, they would dominate him beautifully the 1st few rounds, but then went full dent and allowed him to make a comeback in the final rounds.

Where'd his skill that got him to master go? Oh right.... he got super lucky.

It’s actually fluid: any character he plays is C tier and every other character is S tier.
