Nice one Chris... The Bark River mini-Bravo in M4 looks excellent! That Bark River I purchased from you awhile back has yet to get a Big/Heavy Game workout on Moose as of yet... kind of a 'field&craft' knife of sorts and very sturdy yet still practical. I sell a few of the Light-My-Fire knives to my raft rental customers on do-it yourself self-guided float trips. Overall decent value entry (good-enough-knife to go mild to wild) level sales with reasonable performance and reliability given what it is. I advise most folks doing exactly what you demonstrated here (having your favorite suitable store bought or pre-made tinder) as well as using it to light camp-stoves. Hope all is well in your camp!!!
Chris I use a companion for work. Once there was a tree branch about 3 inches in the way of my scaffold-to-build. I cross batonned through it with an Estwing hammer on the companion. They are plenty strong
My 1st Mora is a lightmyfire. Was a few years bk and keep her near my shower since it’s good about not rusting and I do enjoy the way she performs. I had bought my A2 Bravo EDC also some years bk and was my 1st Barkie. I now own the M4 and man she’s exactly everything I need as a edc and being able to carve and do other task that I’d go to a bigger blade for.
I own 3 bark rivers. The biggest is in 3v and my two smaller knives are cpm 154 both steels are freaking awesome. Thanks to you Chris and your reviews.
I have the Bravo EDC now and love it. I also have two UP EDC’s and a Gunny. I love all the Barkriver’s. Because I’m a female I stick to the medium/small knives. But I do also have a couple of Moras and they are very handy knives and nice to use as well. But I don’t worry about loosing them like I do the Rivers. The Barkriver here in Australia are twice the price of what you pay there but I look after them and plan to keep them. BTW love your vids
I have that LMF mora. It's a great knife to have piggy back on my SXB, along with a large 6" ferro rod. To me, that little ferro is just an emergency back up should I lose my lighter, and my larger ferro rod.
Nice video on the Bravo EDC. I happen to have the same knife but with Carbon Fiber handles and I LOVE IT! You're correct in that it the CPM M4 holds a very sharp edge for a VERY long time. I'd recommend this knife to anyone!
G'day Chris, Just got myself one of those Bravo 1st Run EDCs and I have to agree; it's a truly outstanding small knife. Goes well with my two other Bravos as it has the same great ergos, fit and finish not to mention that awesome super steel. Once again Jason and Paul over at DLT helped me into a great deal with their friendly customer service. I've got a couple of standard Moras that I keep in kits just for the times you need reliable, simple cutting. Another good vid, mate. Cheers, BH
guess it was a good thing you sold your other Bravo, you got one with a upgraded steel. I happen to like Moras, I wouldn't mind getting this particular Mora
The Light My Fire is the knife I always take. if I'm not worried about weight I'll take my Genesis and I always have this as a back up in my backpack. If I am worried about weight because I'm hiking a long distance I will take this knife only. This was my very first Mora that I've had maybe 6 years and its still going strong. I've even battoned with it. Smaller stuff anyway. Its also started many of fires.
LOL, I just ordered the Bravo EDC in M4 with the carbon fiber sheath. I agree, the M4 and 3V are my favorite super steels. I figure sometimes one just has to save for the good stuff.
That Bark River EDC looks sexy! And for the mora light my fire I put one in every kit I make as a backup to my belt knife. Thanks for the video! Jessica
Where do I find the knives you designed with those orange handles!? I am ready to buy a few of them but I want to see if I can find those orange scales!!!!? Looks to good!
I miss the good ol' days of an occassional flashlight review in the backyard with the #shed. I'm still subscribed and enjoy the other gear reviews but seems like the chance to laugh a little is gone😭
I like my Mora's, they just work. Would love to have a Bark River but I have a Mora budget. You can buy a replacement ferro rod for the LMF Mora on Amazon. I always use my larger rod and keep the one in the LMF Mora as a emergency backup. Thank you for the video.
Great channel brother, I like the review I passed on that knife and got the gunny hunter in M4 I have got to say I'm so impressed with the edge holding. I'm curious what you opinion is comparing M4 to 3V steel on edge holding working with wood. Any input greatly appreciated.
I almost ordered one of these today, unfortunately they made it thinner & i've already ruined one Barkie just from having it on me...so i won't go thinner than .125 now.
Hey , seems like alot of people are changing their minds , again, about the convex edge on fixed blades being the best way to go , as far as edge retention and sharpness ? I never liked convex edges, my V edges are wicked sharp and easy to maintain in the field, I mean if you get stuck in the woods without anything but your knife , how do you sharpen a convex edge ? Reprofile it with a rock ?
Bark River is one of those brands I've been wanting to get, but can't seem to pull the trigger on because I'm a cheap ass. Already have a fire knife, though :) Thanks for the vid.
Hi chris are u still using wilson tape for handle grips? Do u have to add glue or is it good drom packet? And dose it last. Just got bk9 need to know the goods. Cheers sharky from oz downunder
I ordered me a Bark River edc. If it sucks im blaming you😂 Crafting bushes😂😂😂😂😂. Fun video Chris. Thanks! PS quit making fun of how I do feather sticks🤦♂️ Lol the funny thing is the bushcraft and review channels where people peel off half the branch per feather. That one makes me go Humm. Mors says you have to have 10 to 20 curls per feather to graduate as an instructor at his school. Those Bravos will do it I've found. Thanks for your reviews on them. They are a $200 knife worth $500. 😎
Brother, you live in Ohio. I believe that it's a State Law that the Crazy Box MUST be Open 24/7, including Holidays. Good review. But I'm beginning to think that some people really don't understand how Real Money works in the Real World. If you want a $200 knife, but you aren't willing to pay the $200, then spend what you can afford or save up the money. But people better realize that the Knife isn't going to drop down to $50 just because you want it to. Enjoy the weather. I think we hit the 20s next week. Yeah Ohio.
Sharpening is a skill that all knife people should be practicing regularly. Get really good at it. Like Chris says. Ceramic rod and a strop. And elbow grease
Crazybox, my whole existence is the crazybox, and nothing makes a guy want to jump in, then watching another man start a fire🤣 great stuff. #philosophicalmind101
I don't focus much money on knives. I bought 3 over the last two years. None was expensive and get the job at hand so no need for any new ones at this time. The next new item will probably be a Mora or something else. No need for fancy stuff, but that being said I like to look just like most people.
I have tested dozens By FAR best coalcrackerbushcraft.com/ferrocerium-rod-6.html I do not work for in any way shape or form ALL I use now Does NOT spark, it throws 6-10 sec long.... rivers of lava. never seen anything like it
It is good to share different priced knifes because some of us can't afford the pricey stuff for every single knife we buy and yet we too want to see good stuff just as for that time we have pinched our dollars because pennies don't count anymore we want to see the occasional quality knife. Maybe someday we can actually buy a nice knife now and then! I like good knives though, my budget won't allow more than 1 or two a year!
I'm no expert... but... I would have used the sharp spine of the Mora and scraped some really fine shavings into your feather sticks... Would have lit it up easy... I do that with my Bushcraft Black all the time... Don't have to use up my fatwood that way...
I can't even believe I'm watching this from you of ALL PEOPLE STICK THAT STRIKER ON THE LOG GIVE IT A FEW SHORT STORKES AND YOU DONE NO MORE THAN 1/2 TO 3/4 INCH STROKE NEEDED GEEEEES.
乇volve Outdoors Not everything is a freaking survival situation, especially since most people camp 20 feet from the car. It's more fun to go for the blowtorch effect off the ferro rod than "just getting the fire started". Or, if you're really worried, carry a bic or two.
Do you really believe that crap you just said, than you know shit.. the huge difference between budget knife and high end semi custom knife... You dont have fucking money ,that your problem but don't try to tell me that 33$ knife can do everything that 250$ will do.. The latter will do everything longer better more precisely and most of all with a style and prestige that cheap shit can't ever do.. This knife will still live in 30years while there will be only a handle left of your 33$ junk after 5years... There is a reason why ppl buy premium stuff.. It's like you said that the Daihatsu will do everything that Porsche can do!? So stupid and ridiculous 😕 I have my own words of wisdom.. "I'm not that rich to buy cheap stuff" cause buy ones and good is 1000times better than buy 5times and bad... No offense but your comment is really incredible

High end knife and low end knife. Do more like this! Really good video Chris.
definitely would like to get my hands on the bark river....when I can afford it. thank you for the look.
Now I want to use my mora companion again.
If you’re looking for a lightweight edc, the Tope designed TDC from Bark River is amazing! You can find a video on it at DropForged Survival.

mora's are great for the money
Apostrophes, they’re not for plural words.

Chris
I can't get to your Amazon store and it's shopping time!
Any news, and sorry if I missed this from you before.
Check the link for the Mora
Nice thanks Chris!!

Hi Chris, I hope you will do review Bravo Survivor Cpm 3v.
Thanks to you, I own the elmax, Thanks. Tony
Yeah,I like it bark river knives are more affordable than I thought, thanks for th e vid Chris
More top reviews Chris keep em coming mate love the content of this channel

Have you thought about uploading to Amazon Video Direct?
Bark River Bravo EDC knife 🔪 look sooo very easy to sharp it on blade😊
...idea for your Amazon page...recommended 'ferro' rods...have a good week...
It all seems like the same price if your oprah. Too bad I'm not oprah
Jared Tyra I was wondering why Oprah would use Jared Tyra as an alias.

3V is better for toughness. M4 is (IMO) comperable to S35VN for edge holding. 3V is the wonder steel for balance.
That's a sweet knife great review! Have you ever reviewed my small brk favorite the Ultralight Bushcrafter?
Holy cow Chris, having a little trouble with that ferro much?😂😂🔪😎. Great video my friend. I'm going to get that bravo thanks to you! 🎯🥇
i would rather have the bravo edc in elmax just for extra stain resistance
I almost ordered one of these today, unfortunately they made it thinner & i've already ruined one Barkie just from having it on me...so i won't go thinner than .125 now.

any idea when a new order of jx-6's will be up for pre order ? need one and the money is burning a hole in my pocket
Would this work in 3V?
I ordered me a Bark River edc. If it sucks im blaming you😂

Great stuff Chris. Not enjoying this Ohio weather either. Thanks for all your videos.
14c28 1095 80crv2 9cr13mov good steel for wood, the supersteel more hard for wood.
So where can I get one of those awesome Jess X knives? (not the crappy ones that Schrade botched with a hollow grind and the wrong steel)
+Joe Stubbernubbensteingenson your guess is as good as mine.
Nice video: thanks!

Neck knife? Imho something like crkt minimalist is the size/weight for a neck knife. That is more of a belt, waist band knife
Love your channel man👌

Chris, I'd be glad to send you some Birch bark...
I want it soo bad ,but it costs 275 euro wich is like 330 usd in the netherlands
DO it! It's worth the money!
Sem Dijkstra no. Take a row boat across the ocean. To the east coast. And then buy one for 180. Totally worth it
is m4 as tough as 3v?
where did you get the Sheath?
+ben mckenzie DLT sells them ready to go.
thank you
Any recommendations on a firesteel?

Mike Boone take a deep breath. The man likes what he likes. Try the live and live approach. Things are so much easier that way.
That looks almost exactly like a gunny.
It looks almost exact like a Bravo 1.
I can do all the same tasks with my becker bk14 for $33. Nice knife though. Just waay out of my budget.

Good stuff man watch out to those knife eating hippos lol
What would be your ONE knife? Survival, hysterectomy on a Sasquatch, ultimate one knife?
The 3V version is way too thin. Good for peeling apples, that’s about it.
CHRIS I will take it ok.
I prefer a left handed knife.
