Beautiful, top-notch equipment as usual. Great review.

I've purchased a couple of these Bravo EDC knives recently, and they have become my favorite knives. I really like the drop point version and they can really perform as well as a much larger knife in many tasks. Yours are beautiful! I really dig that white linen one. Thanks for sharing.

Any CPM 154 or elmax? Any chips/rolls?

I have two of these in elmax as well and I have to say I use it more than any of my other Bark rivers.

Funny how the fine folks at Bark River have produced a very nice EDC knife and paired it with a sheath that is anything but EDC! My recommendation is to lighten up the sheath.

Yeah, that White Handle Bravo EDC sure would be a great match with my new Battle Horse Attitude that I had modified, I got the White Handle on it to match my Himalayan Imports M-43 White Handle Khukuris, I think I found what I was looking for.

Where can I buy a Kydex sheath for the Bravo EDC knife?

Why Elmax? Just curious. I’m thinking of getting another Bravo EDC but not sure if I want Elmax, or another one in 3V. I just really like the idea of toughness and don’t like the idea of chipping. Corrosion resistance would be nice, but I hear 3V really isn’t that bad at corrosion resistance if you wipe it off and don’t neglect it.

Those are beauties! Are you trying to give Virtuovice a run for his money? Lol
I'm curious as to which knives you prefer between Bark River, and Adventuresworn. In general

Hi, for hunting I like the Bark River Fox River and Gunny Hunter. For bushcraft, I like the Bark River Bushcrafter and Aurora. The Aurora performs similar to the Adventure Sworn Mountaineer. Here
are some differences between the Aurora and Mountaineer Custom.
The Aurora is better at splitting kindling, whereas the Mountaineer is better at slicing and making shavings. I prefer the grip on the Mountaineer because it fills the palm more; however, both knives offer very good ergonomics. The overall balance seems a little better on the Aurora. The Mountaineer is more handle heavy. The Aurora has a stout/heavy duty point, whereas the Mountaineer has a thinner and more
refined point. Bark River knives are more available and offer more choices. The build quality on the Adventure Sworn Mountaineer Custom is top notch, but they closed their books and are no longer taking custom orders. They still make small batches of knives and list them on their website. In summary, both manufacturers build premium quality knives with the edge going to Adventure Sworn.
      Respectfully

TheAmericanOutfitter - Interesting. Great explanation. In my opinion, if Bark River knives came with Adventure sworn sheaths, they'd be the perfect company!

Now that you had them for a while, what do you think of Elmax?

    • @TheAmericanOutfitter

+KnifeRev Hi, I like 3V better, but understand there is a need and purpose for a high grade stainless. Elmax seems more chippy and requires more time to sharpen. Respectfully

I actually found elmax more easy to sharpen than cpm-3v on my naniwa chosera stones. My gunny elmax hasn't chipped on me once yet. In my experience it holds an edge better than CPM-3V. My friend however has a gunny elmax that takes edge problems much more easy. I wonder if it's a heat treat issue

Well, hard for me to say since I do not own any knives with Elmax. Maybe others can chime in on their experience.

Dutch Bushcraft Knives I too find the elmax easier to sharpen then my CPM 3V knives. Could it be because of a softer material compare to the 3V? Who knows but I love my two bravo edc.

How would you compare this to a ultra lite bushcrafter ?

    • @TheAmericanOutfitter
      @TheAmericanOutfitter  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi, here are the comparative specifications between the two knives. Bravo EDC specs, overall length:
7.1 inches, blade length: 3.3 inches, blade thickness: .125 inches or 3.1 mm, weight: 3 ounces or 85 grams, blade steel: Elmax.
Ultra-lite Bushcrafter specs, overall length: 7.4 inches, blade length: 3.25 inches, blade thickness: .090 inches or 2.3 mm, weight: 2.7 ounces or 76 grams, blade steel: CPM3V.
I prefer the ultra-lite Bushcrafter. It is more nimble and practical for me.
