    2 large Ponmos
    Stock fish
    2 Dry fish steak - washed and deboned
    4 cups Water leaf
    6 cups -Ugu
    2 small onions
    8 Fresh peppers (red and yellow)
    1 cup of Palm oil
    1 cup Crayfish
    2 teaspoons Cameroon pepper
    Seasoning cubes.
    Salt
    1 cup periwinkles

    I think adding onions while boiling kpomo makes it so soft and impairs the taste. I don't add kpomo to the meat immediately. I let the meat take in the onions first before adding kpomo.

    while are you people while cooking you can't just give the exact amount of salt in the first place you must add at the ending, i have notice anybody i watch while cooking they do the same, but i love the outcome of the food and i believe that the income of the food will be Interesting, that means the taste of the food will be very sweet hope so, but please i nor see sey you use maggi, also for other channel make i dey watch, na so them still take dey cook, abeg which maggi you use known or star, sorry to ask i am learning how to cook. thank you

      I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just make sure you cook on low heat.

    I made this soup last month using your exact recipe cos it was my third time making it. I must confess that my hubby praised me that it was the best vegetable soup so far. Funny enough he came home with 5 friends to have dinner and the whole soup was gone immediately 😀😀😀 even one of his friends ask the name of the soup and how it's been prepared.     I like your Edikaikong soup , i am going to try your recipe. The problem i have is your long painted nails, i dont think it is advisable to wear long and painted nails when you are cooking.

    Perewinkos n d last crayfish, was supposed to go in b4 d waterleaf, to give it taste, well, different styles tho. But I add mine b4 or afta d water leaf, secondly, immediately u add d ugwu leaf u turn off d heat, covering d pot after d water leaf was a mistake, that's y it looked too dark, both leaf shld still b very vibrant, but in all good job.
    My review is based on a chef's perspective n as someone from dat area. Good job ify.

      It's the same thing. Edikaikong is the efik name for Vegetable soup.

      No the recipe for eru is different and we don’t use pumpkin leaves, there’s a different vegetable- forest eru which we use……..
      I’m however trying this recipe for my first time today, I’ve always loved when my Nigerian friend makes it for me, I hope it turns out this yummy😁

    The periwinkle usually have round scales. Do you thing it’s healthy? I had to stop using it because of the scales

      Oh I always take out those scales from each of them. Time consuming but I do that.

      If you intend to make the classic Edikaikong, then yes waterleaf is compulsory.

    Please you do wash the water leaf until there's no slip or you just rinse without washing? Hope this question makes sense? Thank you

      The slip is what makes it waterleaf so don’t bother trying to wash it off ❤
