Now, that's funny. If not for your comment, I never would have remembered this little story, about a similar situation. I was in a jewelry store somewhere, maybe back in Ohio, at least 40 years ago. Still, when I saw the price, I carefully and deliberately backed away from the counter, all the way to the wall behind me. I couldn't get any farther away. I thought, if that thing somehow mysteriously falls off the shelf and breaks, I don't want to be anywhere near it when it does. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. You see, I remember the time, back in the 60s, when my step parent had a brand spanking new Polaroid camera. As I walked by, I guess maybe my coat brushed against it, because it fell to the floor. And, I never felt a thing. I don't remember if it broke, or not. But, the step guy looked over at me when he heard the sound, as I said, "It wasn't me! I swear I didn't do it!" He said, "Well, you're the only one anywhere near it. It must have been you". You know the saying about your whole life flashing through your mind, right before you die? That was me. That might not be so unusual. I read more than once that there were instances where native Americans--I don't know which tribe or tribes--said a prayer before eating, for instance, a deer they killed while hunting. They directly addressed the deer, thanking it for providing food for them and their family. If it played out similarly in your case, the added feature might be that you would thank the tree that provided the wood for your Fender Strat, and the guitar itself. Then you'd set in on fire, to cook your food--like maybe hot dogs on a stick? Or, marshmallows? 😅

But, the step guy looked over at me when he heard the sound, as I said,
"It wasn't me! I swear I didn't do it!"
He said, "Well, you're the only one anywhere near it. It must have been you".
