    Excellent review, you earned a subscriber. Parkhurst has been one of my favorite brands/most worn boots for a while now.

    6 month update coming up this July 2024. 🎉

    I completely agree about unlined boots. I thought I was losing it but my GS boots just didn't hold in place like my oak streets and parkhursts which are unlined

    I have the Allen in waxed suede, it fits like a glove. Super comfy, I love 'em.

    I bought the Allen in black, and they are a great boot. I like my boots to shine, so I want to shine them up a bit more. Overall love it

      Sweet. Are the welts black too or more of a natural finish?

    6 month update? Would love to see these with some wear.
    Also... if you have a low instep skinny ankle, the new 618 Last will fit you well. Give it a shot, has a lot of width up front.

    Didn’t know that the wide widths aren’t being continued. Makes me regret not getting a pair of their one and only batch in 10.5 stone ramblers

      For clarification, Andrew didn’t say he was stopping production of wide widths altogether. It’ll just be considerably smaller production/more rare than his D width releases. So if you like yours, keep your eyes peeled because I imagine he’ll have some down the road - they just won’t be plentiful.

    Great video. I haven’t tried Parkhurst as they really weren’t available for awhile while they were in the process of moving production.

      Thanks a lot for taking the time to watch 🙏
      I know the cosmetic issues I mentioned could be deal breakers for some, but I think the boots are incredible. Mainly the fit, which is my number 1 criterion. I’d say give them a try if you’re in the market for a new pair. And make sure you reach out to the brand with questions. Andrew will take care of you.

      I almost pull the trigger on that same boot this week… I’m going back and forth on the Allen, White’s Springdale (in double shot black) or another pair of Balcksmith ( in black)…

    • @LikewiseAmericana
      @LikewiseAmericana  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@pittwm Nice. I don’t own any White’s but you probably can’t go wrong with that choice. I love my Iron Rangers, but the Parkhursts are better boots than any Red Wings I’ve had - still love my RWs though. I do think it’ll just come down to how to plan to wear them and production geography if that’s something you care about.

    Do you like these more than the waxed commander GS Diesels?

    • @LikewiseAmericana
      @LikewiseAmericana  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oof putting me on the spot 😅. They’re very similar, yet different in many ways. I do love the waxy commander leather more because it’s really functional and was easy to break in, but that’s all I can say right now. Construction in both is basically the same, so I think it’ll come down to wearing experience down the road. Maybe I’ll have some thoughts on that once I own both for a longer period.

    • @partybees8856
      @partybees8856 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@LikewiseAmericana thank you for both the uploads. This has really helped me out because I am torn between the Allen and the Diesel, and I’m a 10.5 E-EE. What I really want is a very basic rough out boondocker but there isn’t one on the market right now in an E or EE that is in my budget. That waxed commander Diesel might be close enough although I prefer the 602 last. It’s going to be Parkhurst/GS/Oak Street I think

    • @LikewiseAmericana
      @LikewiseAmericana  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@partybees8856 I hear you. Having wider feet definitely makes things more difficult.
      I own all three brands now and can tell you GS has the best QC, Parkhurst second, OSB a very distant third. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those brands, but I’d say the GS Diesel in waxy commander is the closest thing to a roughout boondocker. You could also get some Red Wing Iron Rangers in hawthorn muleskinner, but that design might be too far away from a boondocker look for you.

    What I find strange about this idea of "developing" a last. When it comes to us THICCC bois. We take what we can get. And this is when Parkhurst needs to just provide whatever is standard from the last company... And since all the English Country Lasts are G width, ie Loake, Trickers, Barkers, etc... Thats the anwser... Not sure why youd even want to make your own last in this case... But Andrew thinks as a Money Guy Investor, and not as a Creator. Even though he is doing good work. He needs a Creative VP to go over his head and just make what works... This is how has Owners you get into trouble... Not giving creative freedom to true designers...

    • @LikewiseAmericana
      @LikewiseAmericana  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know what you mean. My issue with boots is a lot of companies make D width lasts that are “adjusted” in order to accommodate people with wider feet. Not a lot of companies make anatomically shaped, natively wide width lasts. Viberg does a good job, along with Jim Green, and a few others. But shopping for boots that fit me comfortably is difficult. Glad I’m not the only one with this problem.
