Thanks for the review. I had the Snode 80lb dumbbells. Sold them. It was the wrong feeling for me -- too long, not a real true iron dumbbell, and having to put them back in the cradle just right -- was the wrong experience for me. Found that I needed real dumbbells. So, real for me, has always been the Pro-style (i.e. pancake plates) dumbbells. I now have 10 - 85lb fixed dumbbells (w/ 5lb jumps), with the welded end caps, and with the plates loose enough to be able to spin/rotate -- that's always been the experience I've enjoyed when training with dumbbells. I've always enjoyed the pancake-style dumbbells - they are just the real deal when working out with them, for me.
@@NoFate247 80 would be more than enuogh for me, more if I want to go farmer's walk. I also would consider Badass or (metal) Kensui handles for use with standard plates. Low tech, less moving parts =more durable.
I just bought these and am selling my Powerblocks Pro EXP with knurled handles (Which I LOVEEEEE).. truly love my powerblocks, but I want my homegym to have two pairs of adjustable dumbbells, one that will be used mostly for ligther weights and one for heavy.. So, I just ordered the quickdraws to be my lightweight version and in the future I'll be getting the reppins for the heavy set. Hopefully the wiggle won't be an issue.
@@NoFate247 What is the gift? I'm honestly not going to use any t-shirt, stickers etc. etc. So it might not even be worth the shipping to EU :p But I did sub and am watching the reppin review now.
Great review of these! Spot on! I too have the QuickDraws. And I agree, they definitely need a stand. Someone from rep wrote me a few days ago and said a stand is in the works. That would be awesome!
Looking forward to seeing what REP's heavy vesion of these look at feel like, may have to go to their PA showroom once they are out. Until then, I am happy with my 90lb Powerblocks, but hitting their limit in pressing.
@@NoFate247 @NoFate247 I swear this isn't a humble brag or anything, but I think by the time I have hit my strength repping 150s is a realistic endpoint.
Hell yeah man, these look so much better than my build a dumbbell corner with the olympic dumbbell handles and my stack of 10 and 5 lb plates lol. I'm interested to see what Rep does to get the adjustable dumbbells for higher weight amounts
Absolutely built to last and I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people buy the 40 lb version and use those. We often over estimate the weight most average users lift. We're not all as strong as you!!!! Have you tried the power blocks with the full knurling?
@@NoFate247 So true man. I bet less than 10% can pick up the 100s and do a rep you know? 80s or less will be good for SOO many! Bro, I am in love with them. God dude, they are sweet

stuck between these and powerblock elite exp to 70lbs... need some help. I want to love these but the length of them really turns me off, especially when seeing them side by side with the powerblocks. but I think I much prefer the weight changing mechanism on these
My biggest complaint is the black numbers on the black background. I ended up painting the numbers white. As mentioned the handle does feel great, and really enjoy using these. Nice review BTW…
Thanks for the compliment on the video. I tried to use these for a good long while before I made the video, but I think I'm a bit late to the party with it. It would have been nice if their lettering was white, much easier to read
main downside is that is very wide compared to other adjustable dumbbells while also having less weight, another problem is the cradle is huge, even if you only buy the 30lbs, the cradle is the same size and looks super weird unless is 60lbs. The pro is the longevity and lifetime. Only ironmaster and Pepin have lifetime warranty. Pepin are the best there is, but at $2000 + $300 shipping, is crazy expensive. Ironmasters on sale are only like $600 but is only 75lbs, you would need to buy their 120lbs addon kit.
good review. same issues with my upgraded handles 90lb powerblocks. I'll likely decide on switching them out depending on what the next version looks like. despite the length/width...Is the balance better on REP's versus powerblocks when doing curls? I've noticed sometimes there's a breaking point with the powerblocks at the top of the squeeze where the balance of the weight throws me off slightly sometimes. Hoping REP makes white lettering and a stand like you mentioned someday
the balance on these felt more like a standard dumbbell than the power blocks, but it wasn't a massive difference. Just something I noticed over quite a number of sets.
Love my urethane fixed dumbbell set and the IMs are great, would be nice if they were a tad quicker but they get me by. These look good minus the length at 60lbs is very long. Can’t win them all but Rep did decent with these. Great review as always man!!

Yeah I always assume I'm going to be stronger than I am....most of the time my weight is pretty reasonable and mundane. Now what did you grab those nuobells for? How much you end up paying if you don't mind me asking
I have the Nordic track adjustable dumbbells. They go to 55lbs and pretty quick to change. I was torn between the ones I bought and the rep at the time of purchase. I think rep was out of stock when I got these. They do have a decent knurled handle . I think companies like Rep should make the adjustable ones in sets like 5-50 and 50-100 that way they could be taller/thicker plates rather than making the bar so long . Jim

@@NoFate247 used to have 90 pounds Powerblocks - they were great...but the wife didn't like them as it was annoying to do the 5 pound increments. I found a local guy selling knock off Nuobells that go to 80 pounds and I use those now - it is enough for me currently. Honestly though, if the price is similar I prefer the powerblocks to Nuobells - Nuobells seem too fragile and destined to break.

Yeah, there is no substitute for individuals dumbbells but we all have our preferences. Thanks for watching, much appreciated.
That is long AF for 60lbs. For that length it should be 120lbs. Maybe they can make the plate diameter a bit wider so the length will be shorter?
Yeah or make the plates more dense so they can all be thinner?
