Tore my meniscus and re tore my ACL about 2 weeks ago and have surgery coming up, hopefully I can have a good recovery and get back to dunking with ease
@kneesovertoesguy in instagram he is a specialist in getting your knee stronger even if you dont have money you can still learn exercises and get tips about how to get tour knee stronger man. Good luck
Commitment to the dunk is a big one, although dunking has always been easy for me there was a time where I struggled because I lacked that. I got rim stuffed hard one day trying to show out and fell flat on my back in front of a packed gym. Spent the next year missing dunks constantly and actually hurting myself more because I kept going up scared of failing again.
I use to be able to jump out of the gym in my early 20s. Now i have my days. I'm 43 and i can still dunk( barely) I'm 5"11 but i can still get up there. My knees are kind of bad. I want to do a through the legs dunk. Man, to me that's the hardest dunk in the world but Chris make it look so easy like a layup. Anyway my dunking days are over but i would like to accomplish that through the leg dunk on a 9 foot rim.😂😂
I think thats the key for me: getting a tight core, im 5'11.5 so soon ill be 6foot and im only 15. Im kinda skinny but i got long legs, Im starting to work on my arms and legs but i didnt pay attention to my core. No cap at one point i had a nice core, but i started eating so i could intentionally gain weight. think im gonna eat and do core workouts.
If you have gained weight try to reduce it If not hit the gym gain some more musles try to use your knees less for time being and stretching don't forget that Edit Sorry for the bad English. Hope you understand
Bruh I not gonna lie, you want my advice as a freshmen dunker, don’t just train the jump you are good at, I am a two foot jumper but I spent the whole year training my one foot dunks, I added 5 inches in a year because I stuck to a training routine and practiced one foot jumps, and not gonna lie once you get used to it you can dunk on the fly without an alley oop, and it added new levels to my game
Start working on building strength and possibly losing some weight as well. Also just jumping a lot will help. Don’t forget to, Warm up, stretch, and do lots of recovery work so you don’t injure yourself too. If you are new to working out honestly working on body weight movements is a great place to start and build a good base strength.
I'm sorry for commentig I can't dunk better than you however as a fellow athlete I need to point out that every STATIC stretching before somekind of running or exercising can actually decrease your athletic performance or even produce an injury so do your stretching after somekind low to medium workout before dunking such as shooting or casual 1v1 or pickup game....this is a friendly advice and it's actually proven science I'm not making this up....btw love your channel🏀🔨
TruthHurts 18 steroids make you jump higher but are bad for your joints as your muscles will get disproportionately strong to your joints. He would be plagued by injuries
I’m 29 6ft2 weigh 15 stone 8 and my knees are dead af lol. I use to be able to dunk but I got injured done ligament damage to my ankle and shoulder put on weight but kept playing ball done more damage to my knees and lost most of my hops trying to get back to it
@@ChrisStaplesDunker Oh damn, at that height your jumping ability is even more impressive! What would you recommend me to dunk better, I'm around 6'4 but have tiny hands of a 5'7 dude and can't palm the ball, so even though I easily can get my hand over the rim I can't dunk the ball because I would have to dunk it with two hands to hold it properly and I can't jump that high
i am 6'2 (6'3 in shoes), i measured my wingspan and it is around 6'6. what vertical jump would i need to be able to slam dunk cuz honestly im really lost and i need answers pls. still researching
@Meepo hol up nvm i went outside, my standing reach is close to 95 inches nvm again i went to be more accurate and my hand goes just above 97 inches, atleast the upmost limit in which my hand can hold the tape measure
DO IT OFTEN
yo hardly anyone in these comments knows who you are lol
Kerwin Ma Ik it’s crazy. He got some insane dunks

it's not about how clearly you can see the abs it's about how strong they are

ive gotten a better core since, still got work to do. i can put my hand above the rim easy now :D

Start on 9 feet and build ur way up

Train your legs with light gym exercises to recover it as a injury, take NBA players recovery así a guide
