    What is the difference between LKAS and RDM? They seem to do pretty much the same thing.

    • @DellaHondaPlattsburgh
      @DellaHondaPlattsburgh  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The LKAS actively steers the car to keep you centered in your lane and can even steer around gentile curves. The RDM is something that would only kick in once you start to leave your lane. So the RDM is working in the background and ready to react if need be. Where as the LKAS is constantly working, assuming you have it turned on. Remember that for the LKAS to operate you must be going between 45 - 90 MPH and the camera has to be able to read the lines on the road.

    Does it have Prop Rod for the Hood.?? My last two Accord V6 didn't have them . Cost cutting

    • @DellaHondaPlattsburgh
      @DellaHondaPlattsburgh  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The V6 models had shocks that held the hood up. All of the 2018 Accords have a prop rod now though.

    • @tommy13965
      @tommy13965 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love the interior can’t get past that exterior side view looks weird should have had the new insight front end and rear end also this is 2018 why are they going backwards with the prop rod. The car has been out for 3 months and I still haven’t seen one on the roads this won’t sell well big discounts coming even then I can’t get over the exterior.

    • @charlesduran8700
      @charlesduran8700 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cost cutting for higher profits , over all I don't think this car will sell well especially without a V6 option. The Turbo four may be faster but the V6 is refined and that's what I want.

    • @DellaHondaPlattsburgh
      @DellaHondaPlattsburgh  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Hood shocks can eventually go bad. The prop rod will not, its more reliable. You really need to drive the new Accord Touring and you will see how very refined it is. Very few people chose to buy the V6 or the coupe. Thats why they are not around any more.

    • @charlesduran8700
      @charlesduran8700 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did and did not like it ... the Hood shocks on my two Accord V6 did not go bad . I still Think Honda will have a hard time selling these new models . I have seen more new Camrys on the road than Accords .Camry V6 here I come

    All models have active grill shutters

    • @DellaHondaPlattsburgh
      @DellaHondaPlattsburgh  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, not all of them. At lease not the U.S. models. None of the 2.0L turbo models have the shutter grill. Only certain 1.5L Turbo models have it, I think its just the EX and EX-L.

    In the push button transmission, what happens if you are driving and accidentally push the park, neutral, or even revers button? The new Accord looks awesome, but since the push button is all electronic, I'm worried about electrical mishaps.

    • @DellaHondaPlattsburgh
      @DellaHondaPlattsburgh  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it will let you shift into Park, Neutral, or Reverse while you are driving. But that sounds like a good demonstration for my next video! Thanks for watching.

      DELLA Honda in Plattsburgh what happen if you spill liquid on the push buttons gear shift. Will it short out like most electronic devices?

    • @DellaHondaPlattsburgh
      @DellaHondaPlattsburgh  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would imagine it depends on what and how much you spill on it. Just like with the window switches when they get wet from rain or snow, they still work just fine. I suspect it would take a very large spill to cause any issues. But know I have never spilled anything on the shifter of a car.

      Just the engine and transmission. All the 2.0T models have the 10 speed transmission with push button shift. The rest of the features/car are the same. Also the badge on the back of the car if you want to get technical.

    Great car but you didn't mention how terrible the 19" tires are in the snow. Deal breaker for me.

    • @DellaHondaPlattsburgh
      @DellaHondaPlattsburgh  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      What is good and bad in the snow means something different to every. If your not comfortable with the all season tires in the snow, a set of good snow tires would make a huge difference and handle just fine.

    • @rross1242
      @rross1242 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me just say that I was ready to purchase the Touring. It's gorgeous! But after looking at the 2" (at best) sidewall height, reading about the short tire life (maybe 30,000 miles) and poor traction of these "all season" tires, along with the idea of buying 4 snow tires (Blizzaks would run about $1300) - having to deal with a busy tire store TWICE a year, this really soured me. I can see having this tire on the Sport model but I feel it was a big mistake on the top of the line model. I bet not too many people think about this issue when looking at the car.

    19 inch alloy wheels serve only 1 purpose, "Nice looks" other than that practically they are less reliable on vehicles especially if you are ok highways which you probably are when you buy a "Touring" class vehicle. Even a small pothole can smash into the wheel rim structure and brake it easily and there are multiple examples of it happening.
    So the most important part of a Car when you want to reach somewhere for which you bought a touring car is easily compromised by most common challenge on highways.
    Good luck towing!

    @5:47
    "...your straight back view"
    There is no straight back view (no linear view; no non distorted view.
    The views are either 1) wide view, 2) very wide view, or 3) close up view (top looking-down view).
    @5:50
    "Wide view (in this case, the button selected is the very wide view) is probably the most useful."
    I rarely find anything that is distorted to be useful.
    Imagine if you were forced to wear eyeglasses that gave you that very wide-angle view. You would get nauseous, and have frequent accidents.
    Linear, real-life view, is what our brains expect to see, and are best at processing. Why? Because that is the way mother nature looks and operates.
    By the way, the dotted line in the reverse view serves no purpose of which I am aware. It is feet away from where your car's rear bumper is located. That dotted line is just hanging out feet away from your car.
    @6:16
    The proximity sensors that got triggered are not telling you to plant your car in that exact location. They are telling you to use caution, because you are running out of space. But running out of space is not the same as being out of space.
    If you leave your car parked at the position when the proximity sensors triggered, you will be sticking out of your spot. This probably explains why some folks do a terrible job when backing into a spot. To park properly, you need to look at your rear bumper in the camera. You can see exactly where it is, in relation to what you are getting close to bumping into. So back up slowly, using the camera, and you will plant the car exactly where it should be (that is, from front to back -- side-to-side is another story).
    In the video, where the car stopped (@6:16), I estimate 5 feet of room behind the car. If you are unloading clowns from your trunk, then that would be a good place to park. If you are not, then you should back-up at least 3 more feet.
    @6:27
    "...the Sport button"
    The car will hold lower gears, in order to make slight touches of the accelerator reward you with instant power.
    The turbo boost gets increased (not sure how much).
    (plus the other stuff that the host said in the video)
    The above provides for a lively ride. The car will feel quick and nimble, albeit at the cost of fuel economy. Also, just as being on a roller-coaster for too long, the low gear holding in Sport mode could, over a long stop-and-go drive, become a bit jarring, and the car will be louder (because the revs will be higher).
    Also note that Sport mode hits you with a penalty for coasting. If you are cruising at 65 MPH, and you take your foot off of the gas, you will be down to 10 MPH in a few seconds. This is because the car is holding a lower gear, which puts drag on the car (drag on either the engine or transmission -- not sure which -- but drag, nonetheless). This drag results in you slowing down, and triggering the car to downshift, again. This cycle repeats quickly, and you quickly go from highway speed to crawling speed.
    Econ mode is good for heavy traffic, and for long highway drives. If you use Econ mode for drives where you repeatedly do 0-40 around town, the car will feel sluggish. The accelerator will feel like it is lazy. You will be fighting the car. No fun to drive, and even a bit frustrating.
    When in the middle mode (neither Sport nor Econ), the car feels great. Honda dialed it in perfectly. The car is responsive, does not over-do it with holding lower gears, and you still get very good gas mileage. Use this mode for day-to-day driving, use Econ for traffic and highway driving, and use Sport for a blast of fun (if you are heavy on the pedal, Sport mode almost makes it feel like you are in a different car).

    hood is misaligned...

  • @JF-mq8tp
    @JF-mq8tp 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First, I want to say that I have ordered an Accord Touring 2.0T and should get it any day now. Now my observation: The Accord Touring speedometer goes to 160 MPH. That is absolutely ridiculous. A speedometer like that is wrong for at least two reasons. First, it encourages the feeble minded to see if they can pin the needle, and second, it makes the speedometer harder to read. If the speedometer went to eighty MPH, for instants, there would be room for all the number that are now missing. I believe there is nowhere in the U.S. that it is legal to go over 80 miles per hour so what’s the need? Of course, some people use speeding tickets as a way to meet cops.
    One other thing just came to mind, the Accord 2.0T is redlined at just over 6,500 RPM. I wonder how close to 160 MPH that is. If at 6,500 RPM you're only going 90 MPH, what is the point of having a speedometer that goes to 160? Maybe it’s to beat out Toyota whose speedometer only goes to 140 MPH, whoopee.
    I always thought Honda was smarter than that, or at least I always hoped they were.

    • @ray3269
      @ray3269 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would you be at 6500 rpm at 90 mph? Are you stuck in low gear for some reason? What a stupid comment for a dumb complaint.
