@@lse90garage holy crap! Y’all are only an hour away from me and I was actually contemplating doing this early next year. I have a 328i (2011) and was looking into an LS swap.
Would this application work with trying to do this for my 2008 BMW 535I? its not an X-Drive and i would like to take my N54 out, do a rebuild and put it inside something lighter. I feel putting the LS swap will make the car more reliable in just hooning around as well easier way to essentially full manual swap to the TR6060.

Hey quick question what do you do about the canbus system to get the ac working and cluster basically get everything to function like own. Is there a box for something or is just strictly wiring things up for the Holley. Thanktou
How are you controlling the BMW fan? Is there command from the Holley ECM? and is a PWM command? (0-5V or 0-12V?) Also does the fan turn on with command from the AC system?
Wow! That's excellent! Frank's car looks to be squatting pretty low up front, does he have an iron block? Do you have any recommendations for springs to counteract the extra weight? Maybe X3 springs up front or something? Have ya'll done any AL block swaps? Do they squat like that? You guys are awesome, can't wait to give ya'll my money lol.
Best way to combat the extra weight of the swap is coilovers, however the cheapest option is a set of coil spring spacers for a temp fix. The iron blocks are 100lbs heavier(total) than an aluminum block. The wagon we swapped was an aluminum 6.2 and it had no issues.
I love this bro this is awesome. I have a 2006 328i manual 6 speed m sport package. I was wondering if you guys would do a poor man swap for me. I would won't a regular 5.3 ls with the ac and power steering. Would you guys do that if yes how much would you guys charge me for it.
This is amazing. I plan on doing this to my 335i once the turbos blow. How realistic would this swap be for a DIYer without a garage, lift, or prior engine swap experience? I have enough knowledge and skill to replace worn out parts (suspension, thermostat, water pump, pulleys, etc) but have never done anything as extensive as this. Looking forward to the next videos!
Sorry we missed this comment Daniel, realistically you only need an engine hoist from harbor freight to get the old setup out and the new one in, we're lucky to have the convenient lifts but at one time we did everything on the floor with jackstands ourselves as well. Its very doable to have the old out and new in within a weekend with help from friends.

We’ll touch base with Mike and let you know, I believe he had someone who was doing the swap the way you want to and was waiting to hear back on trans mount fitment.
What did you use for the engine and tans management? Is it hard to program? I have an e82 and the manual in them are pretty tough. Might be cheaper to get a eng to trans adapter? I be temped to do this but the only thing holding me back it getting all the electronics to work correctly.
I can find e92 335i for cheap but will the 328 rear end hold the v8 torque and power ?? Ideally I'm sure it would be better to start with the 335i as it probably has better EVERYTHING from the jump . Diff brakes , suspension seats etc
You guys mentioned plugging the other hole at the bottom of the radiator.. so where is the hose from the bottom of the reservoir going? It looks yours is now going to the driver side
A/c does still work. You need Mikes CAN box that plugs into the Holley and communicates with the car, plumb the a/c and then everything still works off the factory controls.

The Holley install will disable the OBD2 port on the the car, depending on your state laws the car will either have to meet factory smog levels or levels from the swapped engine vehicle, if it’s the later one you can piggy back a GM ECU in the car with the Holley, and in turn make the car pass inspection, if you don’t understand what I just explained I’d suggest you make friends with an inspector if you want to keep it on the road, otherwise we recommend these swaps for off road use only.
