Mike, this is an awesome series. Watched it all, took a few notes and have a few questions I need help with before beginning to accumulate parts.
1. Do you have the part number for the spicer adapter on the driveshaft? Trying to decide if I want to use the OEM driveshaft or spend more for the custom piece right away. I know that’s what you suggested, but I’m not planning on making this a turbo application. Open to suggestions.
2. A/C. Looks like your canbox will work for the stock trigger A/C button. Didn’t see this until I watched the cost breakdown video.
3. When Frank went to buy a battery, is this still a BMW spec battery? Did you need to use BMW software and a laptop to get the car up and running again? Not sure if this headache was retained after the swap.
4. Will a 400hp car require a brake upgrade from the 328i brakes? Considering doing the 335i brake swap if needed. Want a nice street car, mild cam. Didn’t see any mention of brake upgrades for Frank’s that I remember.
5. What kind of HP/Torque limitations are you seeing with the stock BMW 325i/328i rear end? You mention big power requires the Ford diff and strengthened axles.
6. When you complete swap and code out check engine, have you figured out a way to code out the abs or traction control? If not, I’m assuming the car won’t have traction control post swap? Not familiar with this system.
7. Since this will be a daily driver, I’ll need to pass emissions where I live. I’ll need to incorporate all o2 sensors, cats, and any other emissions components that come stock on the LS drivetrain. Do you see any issues with this?
8. Please let me know when the Canbox is available.
Again, awesome job. This is the kind of information I’ve been looking for. Plug and play solutions, wiring demonstrations etc. glad to see someone tearing it up in a BMW.

What about using the lift pump to feed an inline, external pump? Use the 2000 Vette fuel filter with the built in pressure regulator. Just need to plumb in a return from the filter back to the tank.
I'm surprised the stock diff can handle the current NA power.
335i's put down 400tq+, not even including the big/single turbo setups that'll do 500wtq all day

The guys in the Lone Star state got some really creative people keep it up !!!! I’m thinking of doing something similar got a 5.3 for free disassembled with ported heads for a 02 323i the engine sucks under 200hp should be illegal. Is 360 really to much for the car?

Definitely awesome to see this swap! This is truly mind blowing! But out of curiosity, if it cost $15k parts and labor. Would it not just be better to build the N54 in a 335 and it would make at least 500whp on a dyno. I know it’s apples to oranges, but what would make this swap more beneficial to a fully built N54 vs the LS? I’m on the edge of building my N54 or just do an LS swap. Please help convince me the pros and cons.
Even a built N54 can be unreliable, spend 15k for a motor that might last 10 years or 10 days, who knows. Or spend the money to ls swap and if you hurt a motor it’s a $600 investment and some time to swap it. In the end it’s everyone’s on path, we’re not here to convince anyone, just show you how to do it

@@alexkichigin some ppl have completed it for like $6000-7000 and others have spent around 15-20k all depends on your drivetrain, and your own abilities

Would the stock bmw fuel pump (n55) be enough to run a stock 4.8, what do you mean won’t get you far ? Will it burn out, or do you mean if your looking for more power output ? Awesome videos ! Very informative
Dylan Bickerstaffe this car actually ran fine on the stock pump, and you’d prob be ok with a stock 4.8 long term, but frank had more plans(turbo) so he had to go with much more pump

My ls3 e92 is pretty much done (running GM ECU). Only issue is we are seeing the battery drain really quickly for no reason. Wiring issue? Need different battery?

Probably need to check your wiring, disconnect what you added and see if the drain is there?
Instead of spending 3x what my e90 s worth to rebuild the N52, new suspension, cooling, and steering system, I could have LS swapped that baby.
After the swap are you guys getting any check engine errors? Or does the harness you guys use clear any error codes you may get? Thanks!
there is a dme error. Once you code it all you are left with is a brake and traction light.
Could you do the wiring on the e87 if I do the engine swap? How much would it cost and will the stock dash/ display still work as normal without lights popping up everywhere?

After swapping engine have you noticed the fuel gauge fluctuating at all?
My gauge moves a bar to the left/right as I’m driving and can’t figure it out. Not sure if it’s because of the lack of dsc communication
No issues on my personal Procharged 335i, it reads correctly down to empty and throughout the range. If that’s the only gauge acting up you may have some wiring connection issues or a sending unit issue.

Mikes cancer treatments have been priority these days, but hopefully we’ll have some content soon for you guys. The Procharged 335 is running great, the twin turbo car is getting a cage currently and the old 8 second turbo kit is now on Franks car.
Hey so if I have a n54 setup I can run the stock fuel system with my LS swap or do I have to add the 450 walbero fuel pump

If you’re able to do the work yourself expect to spend around 5-6000 in parts depending on engine choice, transmission, clutch, cam, etc

If you used a holley ECU and brought us a complete swapped car that needed wiring, $1500 labor plus $650 for tuning.

N/a wise you’re def leaving power on the table, but currently the only option for exhaust is stock LS3 manifolds, or CX racing mids and for the price we don’t really think they’re worth it. That being said Mike has a set of LSE9X longtubes in the works and hopefully we’ll have a preorder soon to gauge how many need to be in the first batch but that should be happening very soon

Yes, there is a CAN box that plugs in and makes the gauges function, Mike has no released the new version yet.
Do you think a lt1 swap would be the same for a 2006 bmw 325i
That’s an GM LS motor that has super chargers made by pretty much all the top makers.. SuperCharge that engine guys better setup for that engine and way less work👍🤔😳

Did you use stock diff? Not winters quick change?
Internet Dolphin this car has a stock 325i diff, for big power we swap to the explorer 8.8 which mike sells the brackets for, and seems legit garage axles.

Mike sells xdrive crossmember mounts but it limits exhaust routing, we recommend swapping to a RWD subframe

i have an 07 e92 328xi i will like to ls3 swap and make it a rear wheel drive but keep the dash and HVAC bmw stock. is that doable? most sites says the e92 are impossible to hack.
The X chassis is what will be your issue, the LSE90.com system does not work with the x drive chassis unfortunately.

Keeping the dash and a/c stock is perfectly doable, but seeing as your mentioned making it rear wheel drive, as opposed to the AWD setup, that would fix the main issue. The only reason Mike doesn’t offer an Xdrive Kit is because they’re really hard to find for cheap around us, so nothing to build off of. Swapping out the front subframe to a standard E90/E92 one will solve the problem.

It's nice Swap but you could buy 335 and upgrade to single Turbo make 500 wheel horsepower And its less weight

Technically no because the OBD2 is no longer a working part of the car once you remove the PCM. If you piggy backed the stock computer so that CA could plug into the car then maybe.
@@lse90garage oh okay, so you are saying some stock ls headers and cats can fit in the e90 engine bay, I was under the impression that steering shaft gets in a way on the driver side and thus header needs to be modified.
@@fastboatster there are a few options like stock 5th gen camaro manifolds that fit and clear just fine.
I think you’re confusing headers with manifolds, there is no aftermarket “header” that fits outside of the CX racing mid lengths, however several stock cast “manifolds” fit just fine.

Which LS engine do you recommend?
Biggest one you can afford, physically they’re all the same size, only clearance issues would be if you tried using a 6.2 Cadillac motor with a blower, the belt drive is a cluster. If you can afford an aluminum LS3, do it, if not a 6.0 with good cam and intake is a solid runner.

They’re Fbody specific fitment but I think he had to use spacers to get them to sit right
Doing my research now. Going to ls swap an e90! In the next 6 months to a year. I aquired an e90 that I didnt expect to get. Honestly its my old one I thought my mom was going to lose to reposession. But its mine! It has a blown motor and ive had thoughts of ls swapping it for a LONG time now. And of course I'll be getting your kit!
I wonder, could you fit the under tray on it still?
Probably, might need some minor trimming but I know mike still had the lower V bracket on his swap, so the tray should still clear.

I’d recommend you watch all the videos. It’s all covered, there’s even a step by step on how to wire the Holley.

The pumps used in this setup are walbro F90000267 pumps, you can search eBay or amazon for that part number, normally they run about $105 but for some reason the price has almost doubled. A much better option with less draw is the F90000295
