Surprisingly, in my opinion I felt the 6P pictures looked much better than the Note 5. This shouldn't come as a surprise, but I feel the 6P is a far better buy. The Nexus 6P is possibly the best Android device of 2015.

+I Finn Definitely Much better than the S6 but the Note 5 comes with compromises as well, The idea of paying more to get touchwiz is silly. updates will be slow and it's covered in glass! so it's a matter of time before it's not so pretty.

I've been wanting to see this match up for a while!
I think both are great devices... I have and really enjoy the note 5. I don't think I can move away from Samsung Pay, and the Spen. Otherwise, I really like the nexus and it's layout. Toughwiz however imo is not a detriment anymore to the samsung phones. I like some of touchwiz features, and there is not any lag that has previously been associated with it.

Somehow I knew you'd completely gloss over the bad ram management on the Note 5. I own both and I can have over twice as many apps open on my Nexus 6p without them reloading. It makes a huge difference in the user experience.
+Will Frame But you cant browse the web while watching a youtube video on your 6P can you? Cause the note can. In fact it can do more than 2 things at the same time which is the real definition of multitasking.
soleil3gs I could care less about that. Daily performance is more important to me. I used to be all for those features on the Note, but I barely use them.
+soleil3gs it's about daily performance which is what counts. My galaxy s6 would keep reloading apps despite 3gbs of ram in it

I have read that the 6Ps speakers have an issue where the top speaker is louder than the bottom one. Has it been fixed by an update yet?

I just got the Note 5 by Samsung. and pretty savvy with it already as I had the LGG2 prior with Marshmallow update. question: is there anything I've missed as I'm trying to get the SPen to write on the black screen. I have enabled all appropriate tabs in the settings S pen subcategory. I thought perhaps since I changed the theme to a different one that THAT might be the problem but when I changed it back to the original theme and tried to write on the front screen, it didn't write either...any suggestions cause it's looking like a defective phone already.
Note 5 have 4 GB of RAM, not 3 like Nexus P...

I wouldn't say skin. Just a couple of really useful features. Take that away and you have stock Android.

I will say I just returned my pure x. It lagged so bad but I can't do it it's so bad. But that may have been just mine unit. I just want to say that I did 2 factory resets as well. Booted it in to safe mode and it still was happening.

My ideal would be a stock android phone like the 6p WITH the S pen. Is there any other worthy smartphone out there that has a pen attached to the phone other than the Note?? I use the S pen a lot for my business (signing docs and making edits on the go - its a life saver and paper saver). But, im sick of the lag and how slow the note can get (4 and 5). Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!
I hardly consider phones nowadays that don't have front facing speakers. Front facing speakers are amazing for me personally cause I watch media and listen to music ALL the time on my phone.

+Trinajskaa the note performs slightly better in some categories. Both displays are Quad HD Samsung AMOLED panels. The Samsung camera is better by a little bit, and the Nexus 6P already has multi window. I would still pay for the Nexus 6P seeing it's cheaper. I am not paying $700+ on added extras I won't be using.
I agree on note 5 is the best but its kinda suck that they don't put expandable storage and the touchwiz kinda suck. I just hate it. I really wish it was stock android. Well 6p not that bad without those features that's n5 had.

Hmm, get the Nexus. it's free of bloatware, making it faster in everyday use, and I don't really see where that 200 dollars extra went into the Samsung. I might as well get those cheap regular styluses for 3 dollars and get on with it.

How is the screen on the Nexus 6p compared to the note 5? I know both are 5.7 inch screens but are they the same screen to body ratio? Or is the Nexus 6p a smaller display?

Someone help me out. I am planning on getting a new phone and thought about the Nexus 6P or the Note 4, not the Note 5. I love the fingerprint scanner on the 6P, but the Note 4 has a different feel to it. It's a hard decision since the Note 4 has expandable storage and removable battery.

Why doesn't the nexus have a close all programs function?
+CouragePope - It doesn't need one. Closing all programs will make it run slower, not faster. It will just make the Nexus have to re-load the app next time instead of grabbing it from suspension. You can close them manually (and quickly) if needed though. The UI is so fast I can swipe out 10 of them in a couple seconds.

Nexus' ambient display always work on a 90 degree angle I think they designed it that way to prevent accidental triggers

i was wondering. the nexus 6p has a oled display. so won't those on-screen buttons burn in? as those buttons are 90% of the time on the same place with the same color...
They will after around 5 years, but you probably won't keep it as your daily driver for that long.
I saw a 6p at a Best Buy tonight and the screen had major burn in must be because the phone is on all day. still really scared me
They shouldn't burn in any more than the rest of the screen. In fact, since the pixels in the black bar that houses the buttons is always off, it should last longer than the rest of thee screen. And plus, OLED displays shouldn't burn out for many years, so don't worry about it.
They only reason I am put off from the Samsung is because it looks rather bland to me.

Is it worth pressing that the Nexus 6P doesn't have support for Qualcomm's QC but has quick charging of its own? What are the pros and cons between these 2 quick charge feature anyway?
I have the nexus 6p, charging is good, a little faster than a percent per minute, it doesn't matter for me anyways because the nexus 6p lasts all day on moderate to heavy usage

+Cω Tham - What Ricky said...I have not had any problems at all with battery life, and the Quick Charge works very fast. From benchmarks I have seen I think Samsung's standard is actually a little faster, but it's not a difference most people would notice. (unlike Ricky I have charged during the day before...it is a real luxury to be able to recover hours of battery time in the space of 10 or 15 minutes...I don't know that I could ever buy a phone without some kind of fast charge now).

I was testing a Samsung note 4 up till a few days ago but I picked up the 6p and omg... SO MANY THINGS I LOVE the screen is gorgeous it has so much more room for apps on the screen no Flipboard thank goodness it's buttery smooth the speakers are where they belong (wasn't sure how much of a difference it would make but it is quite noticeable) also the interface is beautiful .... anyways I am super happy with it and not surprised why the friends that recommended it gushed about it.

My design tips (Google, are you getting this?):
Put the fingerprint scan on the back.
Put the minijack on the bottom.
That way, it goes the right way (bottom up) in the pocket, and allows hitting the fingerprint scan while grabbing the phone, while the headphone cable is facing upwards.

Sounds like small stuff (and it is), but I love my LG G2 layout so much, I really see it as a (rather) big deal.

Both phones are great, but I discovered by accident and awkward feature on Nexus. I use N5 but used a friends Nexus while at my desk using a laptop. It's the fingerprint reader. On the Note you can unlock while touching the reader without needing to pick up the phone, handy when typing on your laptop and needing to check something quickly on the phone, but you have to stop what you're doing and pick up the phone every time you want to unlock the Nexus. It's very awkward. It's a great phone but just noticed that.

What about the lg v10???? One of the most compelling and nicest phones that I've owned. I have had all the iPhone versions a nexus five, a one plus one as well as the latest version of the Galaxy Note.

Hmm currently using Note5. Love the Note 5 but they sick at multitasking. Recent apps only hold about 3 tasks. Everything reloads when you switch. Also multiwindow is buggy too. Running youtube and internet side by side will make it choppy. Its really hard to surf internet when your scrolling and tab is choppy/lag. Also finger print sensor is only built into Samsung Apps. You cant use it for other apps. Yes this is with marshmallow update. Only thing keeping me from switch to Nexus 6p is Samsung's keyboard. Really liking their keyboard with multi language swipe on space bar.
