My 6P has been fantastic for me. The screen is gorgeous and the speakers are awesome. They're very loud; so loud, in fact, that I find myself lowering it by a couple notches. The fingerprint scanner is fast and responsive, and the battery life, which is my #1 priority, has been great. I'm currently at 37% battery, with almost 5 hours SOT. With my usage, I'll probably get close to 7 hours before I plug it in today. I don't even use the stock charger, since I charge at home. I use a lower amperage charger, and still the phone charges fairly quickly. The 6P is all-around awesome.

+Paladin Cape I use it for phone calls, texting, forums, TH-cam, web browsing, and I take a few pics here and there. But I don't use Google Messenger for texting, I use Textra.

What screen protection or crash guards do you all use? I was looking at the Rhino Shield stuff. I had just the screen film on my Nexus 5 and it has stayed on for nearly 18mths.

initial camera review were not really that great due to average processing but has that been updated via updates?
guys I have been using my nexus 6p and I don't know if there is a option to take out the home button and multitasking bottom with some games I play with this phone cause it gets annoying when I load up a game and all the buttons are there taking the screen. any help?

I'm not sure what I'm doing differently (I browser the web, text, call, and watch video) but i do see quite a bit of lag

Any sluggishness? I bought the 5X as soon as it came out and it's performing very poorly just doing basic things like moving between apps.
So is this phone available for use on T-mobile or nah?
I picked up the nexus 6p and right out of the box there were small scratches in the aluminum around the screen. I returned that one and bought another, same problem. guess the aluminium is just brittle.
Gotta ask. How is the camera vs a Z5 or Samsung S6/S7?
And battery life? My Z3 goes for about 2 days, give or take, and thats a req for me.
It's no doubt a great "device".. But how is it as a phone? Have heard that the audio over calls is slightly muted and d earpiece is not loud enough,an area where Motorola devices excel.. Any thoughts on that?

On my Nexus 6P Google Now activation when the screen is off keeps turning itself off. Does anyone else have this problem and can I fix it?
Why does the standard homescreen layout for all of these Nexus review devices have the search bar and the Google app in the bottom left folder? Hey in case you didn't want to reach ALLLLL the way to the top of the screen you can tap into a folder and open the search from the bottom.
Or you can just say 'OK Google' lol

Care to test the bluetooth as loads of folks having issues and it looks as if its a hardware issue .
Thinking of getting this phone, however I only have one concern. I have read that the ouput quality when headphones are plugged into the device is poor and the volume is low. Has anyone experienced this problem and can anyone clarify if this is the case as this is the only thing stopping me from getting a nexus 6p.

some issues I have that Google has helped me try to fix but to no avail: ambient display doesn't work, alarm volume is stuck on mute, screen doesn't auto rotate. they sent a replacement but that one had scratches on it. we'll see what's next on the third device....yup...
Can you guy's make a final video to the best of android series clearly addressing what's the BEST phone out of all?
the best placement for a fingerprint scanner is the power button. my thumb naturally goes there, more naturally than my pointer finger going towards my 6p's scanner on back.

just got to this. i know that most phones have great note-taking apps either pre-installed or can be downloaded. I have a Note 5. Is there a stylus anywhere that compares? I really like this Nexus 6P the way you describe it. I am a note taking freak due to my memory. I take note of practically everything. Can I do this with the Nexus 6P? Thanks!

i was thinking of getting the 6c because i'm soon gonna be able to get a car so i need to save up so i don't want to get a flagship but one similar and i like the size of my 4s so 0.5 inches isn't much more unless there is another android phone which will be just as good at the same price or cheaper

Just ordered this thing. Should arrive tomorrow.
Apart from Google saying that OIS wasn't needed was there any reason why it wasn't? In other words, would it have largely affected build and/or price to include it? I definitely want this phone, and the lack of OIS sticks out like a sore thumb, but I'm just curious of why the device doesn't have it. It's the only problem I can think of with the device.

dude don't worry pictures come out pretty amazingly plus its a phone camera not a DSLR if that is the deciding factor then a phone is not what you want I can tell you that this phone fakes better pictures then my note 4 (which had ois and a 16 megapixel sensor) there's more then what's on paper I assure you

I like the screen size but I hate glass on the phone beside the front screen.
I've had my graphite 64gb for a couple weeks now. It's an awesome device. This is a spot on review. Very well done Lanh! The 6P is the best Android device I've ever owned. I do really wish it had wireless charging though. That's one feature I really miss from the Nexus 6. Also the button placement sucks for me. I'm always accidently changing the volume. Petty complaints aside, this device rocks!

I need some advise on whether to get a OnePlus Two or Nexus 6P. I cannot root my phone because I'm using it for work as well. So a lot of the customization will not be possible on the 6P. This is where the 1+2 with the Oxygen OS will be my preference. However, it just seems Google is a more trusted brand then OnePlus.
Can anyone share their thoughts of how you would choose between these 2 phones?

no corners were cut? expandable memory and removable battery. this used to be a given...

Still don't understand why people dislike videos like this one . Maybe the competition I don't really know. It's a well made video, free and full of info. Be more thankful you people.
wonder if anyone can recommend a phone with a good camera, great when listening to music (through headphones, listen to FLAC), and great battery life. I can put up with a crappy OS because I can put a launcher on but as someone who uses their phone as a main music player, this is my highest priority.

Okay I need help. I have used iOS phones ever since smart phones were a thing, and now I feel like leaning more towards android. My entire family uses iPhones, so I'd be the only one to change. I currently use an iPhone 6 plus and my next upgrade is only a few months away. Should I get the Nexus 6p or wait for the next iPhone? Is the Nexus 6p really worth it along with the learning curve? Thank you for replying! Luckily, I haven't bought many apps in the past, so I won't have to pay too much to get them on Google Play.
I just have one more question (sorry for bothering again!) I tried to find the Nexus 6P in my local Verizon, and they told me that the only way of purchasing it would be through Google. I forgot to ask them this, but would I be able to get a discount through Verizon like I would with the upgrade plan I have, or would I have to pay the full price? Thank you again!
+Sebas Romero You would have to contact Verizon, but if the plan does run through Verizon than you are more than likely going to be able to get the discount as it will still be associated with your account on Verizon.

IMO its a must root phone and you will be way ahead of its competition.

+Uchenna Nnabue Not yet, but I keep it in a Spigen Rugged Armor case most of the time. The anodizing is definitely not the best though, coupled with fairly soft aluminium so not surprised if it chips easily.

I'd avoid the S7, it's a Samsung so it is bound to lag, plus it has that TouchWiz skin.

Comes down to software, I can't stand touch wiz, but I do like the note series hardware. I went with the Nexus 6P Over the note 5 personally
I own the note 4 edge. I can't get through a full day without power save mode on. Battery life is horrible. tried a new battery, didn't help at all. Finger print reader is terrible. You have to swipe your finger and it always flashes to try again. I am switching to the 6p because battery life was my biggest concern. I wanted duel front speakers because I love watching TH-cam on my phone. Finger print reader is lightning fast. USB c is going to pose a problem in a micro USB world. USB C is the future but almost nobody uses it. Everything I plug in is universally micro usb and my 6P is going to be the beautiful black sheep. USB C is going to take over. When is the question. If I were you I would get the Nexus. Ultimately you have to ask yourself, "What would the perfect device do for me?" Answer that and find the closest phone to it your answer.

Had one. Way over priced in the UK, needs to be cheaper , right now LG G4 is best value for money mobile in my opinion.

Kogan had 20% off all items yesterday (including the 6Ps). I picked up a 32gb aluminium for $529AUD ($397USD) delivered. 80% stock sold in one day so they bumped the price up $200 today. Stoked I bought it last night :D

I have it and it cannot thankfully for you that is just a software things so if you really felt the need you could get it on the device or wait patiently as I'm sure it will come eventually

Not app you install a rom that adds that functionality however which would require you to root the device and or just wait patiently as Google deploys new features have multi window is nice but not necessary

+Norman Hussaini I'm neither a huge fan of z5 and neither a 6p one even trough I appreciate them, but in my opinion 6p it's much more efficient, practical and better made, z5 seems to be gimmicky especially the premium passive 4k one and i heard that the fingerprint scanner is either perfectly fine for you either completely useless, depending of how lucky you are
Yea I love the big screen phones I myself have the Note 5 while I checked out a Nexus 6P at my Verizon retail store and liked it I'm a big fan of the Samsung brand plus the S-Pen is a must have for me. I found my device that I will be sticking to for a long time wanted a Note phone for a while but my carrier that I was on before didn't sell them which was Boost Mobile so when Verizon git a no contract plan I jumped to them to get the Note 5 and I'm very pleased with it.
As for the front facing speakers they're nice and all but I pretty much don't use my internal speakers I mostly use headphones so I don't care where the speakers are located on my Note 5 or any Note phone.

I figure you guys probably have a ton of phones to choose from there at Android Authority, the real question is, which one do you pick up when you can pick up ANY of the phones to use as your daily phone? What about the other folks who work there, which one(s) do they prefer?

Look into Project Fi, but you might have to replace your mobile carrier. I think there was a video on Fi here recently if not look into it.
I can't wait to get this phone! I'm currently using the Nexus 6 and don't get me wrong, I love the phone but I think treating myself to a new phone isn't bad ✌
Only reason I didn't get this was due to the lack of OIS. I have seen every review, unboxing, 1st impressions, and VS videos. And it has it all to an amazing price, nut due to the way I use my phone, mostly multi media, social media and I take a lot of pictures and record video, IOS is a must for me. Been a long android fan and I have had Samsung for years. Got iphone 6s plus, regret it, but can't afford a new one lol.
