      how long does your battery last for? I've had mine for a week and it last 5hours which is really bad

      +Vinay Kenth do you mean in sleep?? Because that's a hardware issue, if you mean screen on time it's amazing. For a phone this big the battery life is more than adequate, I'll go as far as to say outstanding. My GF has the IPhone 6S+ and has about an hour less screen on time, and about 3 hours less in sleep mode. However if doze is on you can go a week without charging it and still have 50ish% left over (with little to no use). I love my nexus 6P!! It's the best smartphone I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

    I've noticed the processor throttling myself. Nothing major but it happens every blue moon. Outside of that, this is honestly the best phone I've ever used, especially Android. I've used tons of phones over the years having worked in T-Mobile and At&t retails stores, and this is by far my most favorite device up to this point. This would be absolutely perfect with OIS, but still extremely solid none the less.
    I'd definitely recommend this phone to anyone looking to use Android.

    Still love my Nexus 6P six months on. ☺️ From the battery life, to display, to speakers, to the Nexus Imprint, to the camera, to the build quality, and OS/security updates, it's still a strong performer. If you're willing to try, you can download the Android N Developer preview to the 6P. Because it's in dev, there may be bugs. But so far, it runs surprisingly stable.

    • @JamesSarino
      @JamesSarino 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've not noticed anything unusual with DOZE of late. I'm getting about the same, if not better, battery life. I have been swapping back and forth between the stock camera and Manual Camera just because the stock one just isn't as responsive as I'd want.

    I am glad you made this video. I got the Nexus 6P 2 months ago and still love this phone. Everything you said in this video was bang on. Even the gmail issues I experience. for me I only get emails from Gmail when I manually check. I don't know if it's because I have Microsoft Outlook installed in the phone too? Maybe they don't play well together? I get a full day of battery life and I would consider myself a moderate to heavy user. I highly recommend this phone to anyone looking for an upgrade. you can't go wrong for price and quality. Thanks again for the video, fantastic job Matthew

    • @MatthewMoniz
      @MatthewMoniz  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Marco Bairos Thanks Marco! = ) Microsoft Outlook is great, but it's not the problem. It's something to do with Doze and Android 6.0. It should be fixed in a future update. I agree it's still a great phone and you are getting quality.

    Stellar video!!! QUESTION: I work in a very noisy environment. For incoming calls on on phones with dual front-facing speakers like the moto x style and nexus p, do both speakers operate, or does the incoming caller's voice only play through the top speaker by default? I'm just wondering if the powerful speakers on the Nexus 6p is going to make a difference on regular phone calls. Thanks!

    I've tested 2 Nexus 6P phones and don't have the bluetooth issues you described. I've connected to a Moto 360 1st and 2nd gen, LG Tone 700 bluetooth headset, and to my 2016 Volt. I must be one of the few lucky ones (knock on wood). I do however, run into the occasional slowdown where the lag becomes unbearable needing a reset. Great video btw!!!

    I just got mine. I'm really happy with it so far, there doesn't seem to be many issues using it on the daily. Calls are great (Huawei really knows how to handle call quality), reception is top notch. The 810 is a behemoth when it doesn't throttle. When it does, it makes my old 5X look snappy.

    I love my 6P. I've had it for a couple of weeks now and haven't noticed any issues yet, but I'm sure they are manageable issues. I did come from a Nexus 5 and a Galaxy Nexus before that so I'm definitely not new to the Nexus experience. The thing that I'm in love with the most right now is being on the fi network. Such a great experience all together. Being an Android fan has never been better then it is right now.

  • @GEEEEEZUS
    @GEEEEEZUS 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In a tropical country like ours (Philippines) the 810 will occasionally throttle due to external heat, but it's still fluid although not as fluid as a 100% working 810.

    Great video as I'm about to purchase my very own 6P. However notice that at the end of your video, you recommend buying it at Google Store yet you provided a link to Amazon. Thanks for the video - I've been using my 6P for 4 months now, and the only issue that consistently gets me down is the inability of the camera to do any macro work. The camera just can't seem to focus under 30cm/1 ft, while my old Samsung S3 would produce quality shots at 10cm/4inches.
    I'd love to hear that this is simply a software issue, but I fear that I'm stuck without macro until the next phone...

    Hey there, I'm using my Nexus 6p with great satisfacion for 3 months now and I haven't experienced the bluetooth or lag issues that you mentioned. I'm aware of the Gmail sync problem but since I usually check my e-mails manually, it's not of a big issue for me.
    There is one additional problem with the speakerphone usage: When you switch to the speakerphone, if you step away from the phone about 1 or more meters (I assume it's about 3 or more feet) my voice level drops dramatically for the person who I'm speaking with. As I understand, this problem has experienced by some other users from Xda forums too. It is told that it's a software issue about the noise-cancelling mic on the back of the phone, but I don't think there is a fix about it yet.

    I'm going on 4months with mine and absolutely ZERO regrets! Love the camera, love the speakers, the resolution and the front facing camera as well. As of late the battery hasn't been going as strong as when I first bought the phone but something tells me that's more of the social media apps I recently installed as opposed to it being a hardware issue. I also LOVE the placement of the fingerprint scanner and how accurate it is. The ability to simply grab the phone in a natural form and press your finger on the scanner and have the phone unlocked is so much easier the swiping patterns or entering pins. Haven't connected to too many Bluetooth devices other then a pair of wireless headphones and my TVs sound bar and haven't had any issues...maybe I'm lucky? Love that it has a built-in chromcast toggle option right from the dropdown menu, since I use chromecast often. There aren't too many negatives I can think of to be honest.. and when outside of the case , the phone as been described as "sexy", "sharp" , "badass" and "wow..what kind of phone is that?!" ..so it does catch attention. For eveyone in doubt listen to Matt... get this phone ! 😎

    I got a Moto X Pure when it came out and loved it but over time I noticed the battery wasn't very good and there were a lot of software stutters. I decided to upgrade to the 6P last week and I've been using it ever since and so far it has been very impressive. The battery for me isn't lasting as long as I expected however it is for sure getting more battery than my Moto X and I appreciate that. It is faster and more fluid and a better display with the AMOLED panel. Only thing I really miss from the Moto X are the amazing front facing speakers which are slightly better than the Nexus and the faster charging times.

Also haven't had to reboot it because of slowness. Had all the other issues you state though - the email one seems to have gone away since the March Android update came through so that's good. Nice update video. I was just about to pull the trigger on buying a 6P, but then the S7 Edge was announced. It has a better screen, expandable storage, better camera, faster processor, more RAM, wireless charging, likely better battery life, and a significantly smaller footprint for only a slightly smaller display. However, the S7 Edge is missing those superb 6P speakers, stock android, lower price, and instant software updates. Overall, I think the S7 is the better buy when it's released shortly. (Separately, this channel really should have many more subs given the quality of the content.)

    I have been using the Nexus for about 3 months. have experienced that gmail/inbox issue you mentioned. I found an easy fix for my device. i just cleared the cache and data for the app and it resolved.
    My biggest issue though is Doze... It just doesn't work anymore. I barely get one days worth of battery. Sometimes it randomly kicks in and I get awesome battery performance, but in total I would say Doze has been functioning for a total of 2 weeks. No more :(

  • @alsh2010
    @alsh2010 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's now May 2016 and the delayed email sync/notification is still outstanding as still reported by many users. Unbelievable that google don't come up with a fix to something quite important for email users.
    Other than that, the 6P is a star device. Love it. Performance is top. Display is gorgeous. Camera is impressive. Battery life is just unbelievable - 2+ full days under light usage is easily achieved if the device is setup lean, clean and optimized for max juice. Even under heavy use a full 24hr is almost guaranteed (unless you intentionally beat it up to the extremes).

      Matthew Moniz thanks for the recommendation. I would like to steer away from TouchWiz, though. Loved my Nexus 5 but it had its time to shine and had to go. Now I have been away from Nexus for long enough and I believe that it's the perfect time to come back. I just don't know if I'll hold until this year's device or get a 6P, still meditating about it.
      The current 50 dollars discount is tempting, but I guess I'll wait until there's a $100 discount or so. Thanks again for the information!

    Hi,
    I recently bought a Nexus 6p and the only concern I had was about Snapdragon 810 heating issue. However, for some reason the heating is not as much of a concern here as it is on other phones. I don't now what is keeping the the issue at bay but in general usage it is hardly noticeable.

    I remember watching your nexus 6p review comparing it to the iphone 6s+. I personally decided to go with the 6p. I have little problems with the phone besides it getting hot. If im driving with google maps on, my screen will feel warm after a 1.5 hour drive. Or if im playing a game like hearthstone after a few rounds the screen and the body get warm. Besides that I have no complaints about the phone. Im gonna patiently wait for android N.

    Hey Matthew great video! l love the Nexus 6p, it is my very first Nexus device.
    However I must say I'm very disappointed 😕
    I specifically bought the Nexus 6p because I wanted a phone with a great camera to use for Snapchat. To my great disappointment, whenever I use the Nexus 6p to record Snapchat videos in LIGHT areas, the video appears terribly dark, drab and just horrible. At first I thought l probably got a defective device, so l returned it and got a brand new Nexus 6p. Used it again for Snapchat and it made the video AGAIN appear dark & horrible. I asked other Nexus 6p users and found they had the SAME experience!
    Now I ask you, since I see you have the Snapchat app. Is your Snapchat app terrible at recording videos on your Nexus 6p?? Specifically when you're indoors BUT in bright light...l need advice with this one!

      Youssef Imam Then you will never buy anything thinking like that. No matter what you buy, it's outdated the moment you buy it. I actually like buying phones after like 6 months, because of the discounts. The N6P has some pretty good discounts currently. I paid $649 for the 128GB and now it's only $619 at Best Buy here in the US right now (03/14/16).

    I just bought this phone a week ago (without contract) after my Note4 randomly stopped working. Samsung wanted to charge me 600+tax to replace the charge port and motherboard. After years being a Samsung loyalist, that was the final straw & I made the jump.. not knowing this Nexus is 6 months old. I must say it's the smoothest and fastest phone I've ever owned and it's just extremely beautiful to look at and hold! I just love stock Android as a new experience too. Everything just works so perfectly and seamlessly! And that camera, despite the limited features compared to Samsung, is really awesome. I miss the SPen and I would like to have my old font back (why can't I change the font?).. but those are minor details. And as for Bluetooth you mentioned, I have it linked to my car and I've never had this problem (yet).. definitely worth the buy.
    My only true complaint is that they messaging app doesn't allow me to change the wallpaper in the background. The blank white is a little vanilla for my taste.. but then again I'm coming from Samsung where pretty much everything is customizable. Overall.. best phone I've owned. I just hope a Nexus 7P doesn't comes out in the next couple weeks or so. That would be annoying lol
