I worked in Honda dealerships in the parts department for nearly 20 years. I wanted an SUV but didn't like the 2004 Honda offerings. When I read about the Saturn Vue with the Honda V6 drivetrain I immediately bought one. Not a Redline, but the V6 AWD. I absolutely loved it. I wish I still had it. Funny that I own a Element now.
How do you like the element compared to the Saturn. I can fit a full size washer dryer in my Saturn Vue with the front seat laid flat. Elements are hard to find now at a good price also. Less people want vues. I have a 2.2 with 5 speed and like the simplicity of engine and fuel mileage but i would like a AWD to assist with getting up our gravel driveway.
Have the exact one for the last 7 yrs. Fixing to adjust the valves and timing belt change. It has 148k miles. Love it. Relatively quick suv.. think 250hp and about the same torque. Same engine in the Odyssey and MDX. Good buy
@@JireSoftware right there with you! bought mine in New Jersey end of 2006, which is now a harbor freight, with 189,000 on it now… I baby it and hope for many more miles. Best of luck with yours!
Sweet I've grown to love the obscure performance cars gm had in the 2000s. They are all so unique. Much respect to gm for allowing pontiac, saturn, olds and chevy due this stuff. Some of the coolest shit in the automotive industry imo
My grandma has a silver one that’s only about to hit 120k miles, mint condition besides slight scratches and just paint coming off the dashboard. Besides that it’s like new. Shes the original owner.
I’ve got an 05 fwd redline, looks just like yours but with the black suede interior. Whenever someone drives it they’re surprised by how peppy the get up and go is. I liked the looks cause it reminded me of the SS trailblazer lol. Nice ride man!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees hints of Trailblazer SS haha. I love the suede seats but as far as I know those never came with heated options. Just ambient lights under them instead lol.
Have Owned a 2004 Redline for 20 years. Best one ever! Versatile! Dependable! 161,000 miles. Worth restoring for the daily driver needs vs driving our luxury pickup with so many texting drivers on the road.
In case you want to know, the seat cushion from the passenger seat can be re-purposed with electric heater modification for the driver seat which is invariably beaten up after years of use.
I currently own and drive my 2nd '04 Saturn VUE AWD V6 (Honda engine)...it has 230K miles on it (bought it with 190K) & has never let me down. I bought it as a 'backup' vehicle because the car I was driving at the time was an '04 Saturn VUE AWD V6 with 325K miles...I thought surely this car would die on me with that many miles so I didn't want to get caught needing a vehicle when this one was done. Well, I put the 'new' car in the garage and kept driving my 'old' VUE...it just kept going, and going, and going...I put another 25K miles on it and finally decided to sell it and start driving the one with 190K. It took a little while to sell the first one because the mileage scared buyers away...but the car was well maintained and very clean (garage kept). Sold it for $2500 to a guy who needed a car for his daughter going to college...told him 'no guarantees' as he drove away! I pulled the 190K VUE out of the garage and started driving it as my daily driver. About a year later I was at a gas station and I guy walked up to me and said 'hey, you're the guy who sold me a car just like that one'. I thought I was about to get an earful (or something worse)! So I asked how long the car lasted for him...his response was 'my daughter still drives the car and she loves it'. Said she put another 30K+ on it. THE SATURN'S w/the HONDA ENGINE WILL RUN FOREVER with minimal/basic maintenance Let me know if you are selling the car in your video...I'LL BUY IT😊
I just bought a black 06 Vue Redline today in Northern Indiana for $3500 , 133,000 miles , pretty clean, a little rust underneath but not too bad at all … Paid $3500… Good buy??
I bought a 2005 Saturn View for my daughter in 2015. I was at a GM dealership looking for another vehicle when the original owner traded this one in. I know the owner of the dealership and he knew the owner of the Saturn Vue that was traded in. The car was serviced regularly at the dealership with all the records. It was the V-6, AWD but not the redline. My daughter does not drive a lot, just to and from work and at present the vehicle has 136K miles. We did have to replace the transmission a couple of years ago ($1,900) which is relatively cheap for a transmission replacement. Other than that, the vehicle has been very reliable and dependable, It's black like the one in the video with a tan leather interior with no tears, rips or stains. My daughter has been clamoring for something more modern but when she looks at the sticker prices of the newer vehicles, she's content with her Vue. I've been a Honda guy for most of my life so I know how durable the engines are when serviced properly. I expect to get many more miles out of this car and even when my daughter does finally buy that modern car, I think I will hold on to this one for a while as it's becoming a quirky classic.
I purchased 2007 Saturn VUE in 2007. It is great, and running 190K miles now and I will keep it running next 190K miles till I retire. Honda engine and GM tranny, perfect combination two decades ago. :).

Nice ! ... It'll be even nicer once you CLAY BAR it. I just picked-up a silver 2004 Saturn Vue Redline (AWD) 3.5 (Honda engine J35 S1), and I did a wash, clay bar, and wax to it last week. It's an extremely fun "crossover class" to drive. I have a silver V6, 3.5L AWD 2006 model, LOVE it. They're powerful & handle very well. The V6 models are Honda OHC engines which absolutely suck to work on... you said the Honda engine... the 4 cylinder models are much easier to work on without tall ramps or a lift but give me the power & better towing. Have fun!
I bought my 2007 Saturn Vue brand new in 2007 at a full-service Saturn Dealership and it also has the Honda 6 cyl. engine. I have 115,000 miles and runs great. Did the timing belt at 98,000 miles. My driver side seat needs to be recovered, but still looks great and runs great. No rust as I live in Southern California. Thanks for the great video of your Saturn Vue with the Honda motor. I don't know if you mentioned what you paid for this awesome Saturn Vue.
I bought one last year i love the stupid thing it’s a sleeper I daily this over my STI or Power Wagon I don’t have a redline but still has J35a3 Awd it flat scoots
I inherited and still drive a 2007 Saturn Vue V6, that really gives a lot of power, so it took a while to get used to touching the Gas Pedal Very Very Gently or it will Jump Forward, or the wheels will spin in Wet weather. The only thing I don't like, is how the rear access only opens the entire door, unlike the Ford Escape that lets you raise the Window only, without the risk of everything in the back pouring out over your legs.
I have a complete set of lowering springs (SPRINT brand), new front struts and rear shocks (monroe) with new upper strut mounts and I think even the sway bar links for the rear. I can give you an awesome deal on all that. Just reach out to me. I bought them for my wife's VUE with the Honda engine in it but before we could put them on, we got rid of it back when the Penske deal to take over Saturn fell through. They've been sitting, in box in the attic, ever since. :)
I have a Saturn 🪐 VUE just like yours . The only difference is mine is silver. It's a tuff car and with 105 octane racing fuel will out run a current model Camaro or Mustang V8 in the quarter mile. Mine has 158,000 miles on it.

Watch for front cradle mount and rear trailing arm mount rot !!!! Transmissions are hit and miss depending on how well they have been taken care of. If you flush every 30xxx to 50xxx miles and use genuine Honda DW1 ATF fluid, they are fairly good. Last one I owned was great with 485xxx on the clock but got totalled a month ago. I bought another without hesitation, but they are getting hard to find in good shape
@@FocusedGarage Yeah, subframe rot and rear trailing arm mounts rotted out on one.
