In the end, GM mismanaged Saturn. Saturns were not supposed to be rebadged Chevy, Pontiac or Buicks. They were their own company that designed and built their own cars. Roger Smith, who launched Saturn died in 2007

You did a good job with the review. This was sold as a Saturn VUE, Chevrolet Captiva, Opel and Vauxhall Antara and as a Holden as well. The VUE came before the Chevrolet version. We got the Chevrolet version later. It was a rental car and people bought them after that. This was GM parts sharing and platform sharing that takes away from the brands. They were trying to keep Saturn alive by using Opels. It was supposed to become Opel North America. When Saturn died, Buick started selling Opels. GM was trying to sustain and keep its brands alive and integrating them. Buick lives and Chevrolet lives. Saturn is gone and Holden is gone and Opel was sold to Stellantis. Thank you for the review.

What are you saying? This car is gorgeous! Absolutely stunning! I know this car doesn't mean much in North America, but in Brazil? The Captiva Sport was a true winner in Brazil. If it didnt break down and made costumers completely disgruntled this would be the greatest Chevy in decades. Nostalgia killed me right now. I remember driving this car so much RN. Excellent video!

Our son had an 08 Vue Red Line with GM’s 3.6 engine. It was a very good vehicle. I never could understand that they couldn’t add at least a temperature gauge, and we hated the unlock-move-lock tilt only wheel. We are fans of the old style tilt style wheel where you simply pull a lever and a spring pulls the wheel up.
That car was hard on gas but very reliable. Sadly, it was rear ended and the insurance company took 10 seconds to total it

My aunt had this car, but with the V6…biggest pos I’ve ever seen. She bought it because she had a Saturn sedan from the ‘90s at the time of upgrade, and that car had been nothing but reliable and fantastic. Well, even with proper maintenance, this piece of garbage blew up before 80k miles, both the engine and transmission. Thousands in repairs, it had to be upwards of $10k that she had put into that car. JUNK!!! No hate on the review though lol.

@@moeanthony9308 Well to her credit, my grandfather who was very much a car man wasn’t around at that point to guide her buying decision, and I was too young at the time to know better lol. She just got it because her last Saturn sedan was a great little car for the money. I will say that in their later years especially, both my grandfathers switched to Ford with little problems (F-150 and Taurus). She kept fixing that pos though because she thought “that’d be the last time it needs major money put into it” or it was a matter of convenience cuz she was a traveling nurse and needed a car.

I remember my friends neighbor had a 2009 Saturn Outlook (rebadged GMC Acadia). I always thought that car was weird with its exterior design with rear brake lights that are halogens, because my uncle had a 2010 GMC Acadia (Denali) before he traded it for a 2020 Acadia Denali, and I've been in one before. He got rid of the Outlook after 140k miles and replaced it with a 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite.

That's the "put your foot down on the brake pedal before you shift between the gears in the transmission" symbol. Back in the day you could shift from park to reverse or drive or whatever without applying the brakes even with the engine off. I did it accidentally in my 1980 Cutlass.😱😧🧐

It's both sad to see Saturn dead and a relief. Their cars were honestly crap for what they are. Rode in a 05 with 80k original miles for a few years. The suspension was genuinely horrible. It was so stiff and just not at all comfortable. The Honda V6 was silky smooth, but the awful 5 speed transmission was not. Lots of very violent shaking and shuttering when taking off in the city. It always had a lot of small issues, mostly with the electrics. The paint was pretty in the teal, but it started coming off the plastif soor panels. The seats were not at all comfortable or durable, front or back.

Too bad you see a boring car in it. Compared to the Chevrolet Captiva here in Europe, the Sarurn Vue (Opel Antara here with us) was a very nice car! (Xenon headlights, diffirent taillights, leather seats, other center dashboard. Nicer bigger wheels... for example, look at the lines on the hood. how they flow through the headlights and bumpers. In my opinion, this model looked good for a long time, partly thanks to the design.
Also, the interior of the Opel versions had a higher quality finish. :)
