If you think different go make love to an air compressor, same difference, it's a machine. I would think that the robot makers could install a device that would shut down the robots on the grounds of exploitation. You would have to send the robot in to power it back up and to check if you were doing something illegal, if so they ban you from ever getting another robot. Simple !!
The title makes no sense. It is not a "what if" but "once we can" because there is no chance we do not build them. And unless an AI develops consciousness it IS just an object, so you do not need to care about not treating it as one. There is no exploitation to that.
