Years ago I decided to only have items in my closet I feel really good wearing. Not ok, not marginal, not “good enough”, but great. Period. I always look forward to getting dressed, instead of thinking “ugh!”. Great channel! Thank you.
I am one who has found I own enough clothes, but didn’t know how to style them, SOOO I went to Pinterest and did visual searches, a LOT of visual searches, now the search engine seems to understand my style. I’m over fifty, wear dresses and skirts, need comfy, and casual. I love thrift shopping, not new. I don’t want to look like everyone else. I have my style now, I had to find it. I enjoy watching style videos for advice and ideas. I don’t want to look outdated even in my thrifted clothing, and yet I don’t want to look trendy. I want my clothing and my home decor to be a reflection of me, my individuality. Thanks to you for the time you put into videos 😊
My problem is that I like many styles! One week I do BoHo, one week (or occasion) I’m into classy, another relaxed casual. I need more closet space!!

@@heidischultes2956 Fully agree. I dress according to how I feel that day. I'm 60, and feel confident with this mantra. I'd be so bored , wearing just one style. I ensure my clothes are in flattering colours for my complexion and , most importantly, that FIT me properly. I don't care about fashion. I wear ONLY midi or maxi length dresses and skirts....shorter just depletes my confidence (. In my teens and 20s , my mum and sisters loved to criticise my clothes and appearance. To the point where I developed Anorexia Nervosa through self hatred. I moved many miles away, and married a man who always makes me feel beautiful, just as I am. His love, and their absence from my life, helped me to recovery ) The last 2 occasions, where I saw my 'family', wearing MY choice of clothes? ..I overheard them, commenting on my outfit choices, saying how great I looked. One sister asked for style advice, and borrowed 2 outfits for a family Wedding 😂😂 Dress for yourself, ladies xx

Hi Angela, you described me to a T, about buying an outfit, or other piece of clothing, and it goes with nothing I have. Then it just hangs in my overloaded closet with a ton of other clothes I don’t wear, or have never worn, a lot with tickets still on. I have so many clothes, and sometimes feel I have nothing to wear, at least that I like, so, off I go to buy something new. Another problem I have, which is really strange is that, when I buy something I really like, and wear it a couple of times, I find that I no longer like it. I always wonder how people can say they’ve had something for years, or that an outfit or sweater or any piece of clothing will last for years, when I’m sick of everything after wearing it once or twice. As always, this was a great video, and so much of it definitely hit close to home. Thanks Angela.
Hi Karen! This used to be my problem too going shopping! I would just buy all these pieces that wouldn’t really make outfits!! Over time, I have gotten much better which will hopefully be helpful to us all. 🤪
It sounds like you might not have enough basics in your wardrobe.
I find the cutest prints - then I quickly get tired of the print. Better for me to stick to solids.
@@americafirst9144 I do though. I’m just get sick of my clothes fast, and clothes I really like, after I wear them a couple of times, don’t like them anymore. I have all the basics, and tons of clothes, and outfits that do go together, but I get tired of them fast. Hahaha! I know, I sound like an oddball.

Boy! Did this ever talk to me. I used to be thin with long nearly black hair. I’m now 77 and I’m still trying to be that 20 year old. I’ve seen a few photos where my clothes are too small. The #1 rule is that I have to give up and accept that I’m a grandmother. The styles I used to wear just might not work anymore. And #3 hit home. I do need to try out some new ideas. I’m fairly classic with some dramatic elements, but I’ve never worn flutter sleeves, etc. So it’s time to experiment a little. Thanks for the push.

Oh dear, I had a try on clothing session a few months ago. Aaah, my firm fitting dresses which looked great...15 years ago. Couldn't get zip done up and oh my goodness, look at that poochy paunch just hanging there! They've all gone. So yes badly fitting garments are meant to be given to someone else! Thanks for the great video.

Angela, that is so true. You need to find out what your style is first and then make a list and shop from a list I used to be confused but I’m not anymore. I am a triangle body type and I like classic minimal I’m 68 I love a classic wardrobe, very easy to put together and you don’t need a lot of pieces. Today I wore a pair of black jeans, ballet flats, a cream, V-neck top with a classic black and cream sweater .The new Carrigan sweaters that are in .I thought that outfit needed a wool beret so I put that on with it. I feel great in that outfit.😊

Prior to watching this video, I got in a mood to organize drawers and closet. Resulted in a generous pile to donate...after recent weight loss, these sizes must go. I'm not returning to previous size, so no need to take up space.

Never ask other people but give honest compliments
I often compliment other women if I love their outfit (or shoes, purse, hair style, etc.) and I mean complete strangers. Their face always light up in a smile when they thank me, and I don’t feel like such a creeper admiring their style!😂

What a good video I've been getting rid of my clothes if I don't like them anymore if they don't fit right anymore I love velour so I do have a few two-piece outfits that I love to wear and I feel comfortable in and feel good I even have one that I wear around to clean in because I love them

Angela, thanks for this. I spent some time to figure out my three style words. I am sporty, boho and comfortable. When i figured this out i stopped buying stuff outside my actual style. I love a great pair of fancy shoes or a frilly dress but these are things that are no longer me. Give me some sporty sandals a cute skirt or skort and a cute top. Done!
Out of comfort zone…just take your daughter with you when you shop! 😂❤

Hi Angela, love all of your videos! I retired three years ago. Used to wear dresses and skirts/blazers to work. I was pretty confident then. Ask me today if I have training gears and comfy close and I will answer, plenty. Today, me challenge is finding something in my closet when I go out for diner or a family reunion ! You have inspired me, I will now focus on my confidence and finding items that make me feel good …and get rid of close that no longer belong in my closet. Cheers and thank you 🎿🌸

The older I get I have figured out some trends are not for me. I’m learning what looks flattering on me. I wish I could loose some weight but I’ve accepted if I can’t it’s ok. I exercise regularly but have thyroid issues .
Have you tried natural thyroid meds. I did not like Synthroid but did well on Armour and lost weight.

Angela, you are so sweet and kind which you project through your channel as you go through your message. I would very much like to make you aware of something I doubt has crossed your mind. Are you aware that this video cut and went to a different picture 25 times not counting some breaks had 2 and 3 pictures within them. Many videos have had breaks that weren't necessary. Extreme breaking is terribly uncomfortable on the eyes and will make ladies that have vertigo actually sick. May I please ask that unnecessary pictures not be inserted. Great video, Angela! This was quite helpful. Remember the “ shacket “ look? I tried it the other way, and no, not for me. I couldn’t even consider wearing it to the grocery store. It just wasn’t me, and it was new! ( but I had lost the receipt, so I donated it instead). As much as I try, I haven’t acquired a love for denim jackets, either, like you wear. You look great! I just can’t seem to pull them off, but, I’ve kept them because I’m hoping I’ll find the right thing or right way to wear them. I am THAT cardigan girl who wears them 365 days a year. I am a cross between classic look, with a little bit of edgy thrown in ( and French chic) But, definitely YOUR channel has helped me a lot! I enjoy watching you!

Once 35 years ago, I had a new boyfriend and was looking for a dress for his work Christmas party. I didn’t wear dresses often, and had recently lost 50+ pounds. Needless to say, I was trying every dress in the store. One dress I really liked but wasn’t quite sure about I came out of the 👗 dress room to look at. At the same time a mom and daughter came out also. The mom took one look at me and one look at her daughter and said, “Now that is how that dress is supposed to look!” She looked at me and said, “You need to buy that dress, that’s the one!” So I did.
I was much curvier than her daughter and that is what made the dress.

Great tips Angela! Love your picture associations too.....especially the “word vomit” one! Haha! I ordered several of your Amazon favorites and that white shirt with the ruffled sleeves.....awesome! So many fabrics are polyester which make me sweat and that one was rayon! So nice and thick! My first clothing purchase from Amazon! I also got the portable water flosser for my granddaughter who just got braces at age 11! The pill box was good although it had a black substance inside the compartments that I had to wash out before use. .....and the 3D FitBud, excellent since I don’t like wearing my Fitbit anymore! Let’s see, what else did I get, oh yes, the deodorant cream! You were right, no stink! Yay! Have a wonderful evening. Cold here in Indiana with snow headed our way!

I think a lot of women worry about a size on a tag. I’ve got stuff that’s a x-small and a 2x just depends on where and how it’s made. If you look and feel good what’s it matter

Skinny jeans- a no for me. I don't like them and a boot cut or flare evens out my thighs and booty better. "but you may wear them over boots", I don't I would wear them with a nice denim skirt or even a dress before I'd wear skinny jeans
