It's funny (rather sad actually) how a lot Brits have resumed their age-old hostility towards the French since Brexit. I've noticed that many English speakers have been spreading a lot of anti-France propaganda lately. The France always loses myth is one of them. Unfortunately, it appears to be working. I've noticed, that a lot of young to middle-aged Germans are eating this nonesense up. This is worrisome.
Know that my point of view is from Switzerland, a country which has a recent history of remaining as neutral as possible.
The French have been our neighbours for a very long time. They are no cowards -- and the Italians (also our neighbours) don't just switch sides on a whim either. History is a bit more complicated than that! Look it up!
Edit: Seriously, you only need to scratch the surface here, to debunk the premise of that stupid myth. France has had an empire that stretched over multiple continents too. You can't do that when you're a bunch of cowards that constantly surrender/lose.

When you make a uneducated "France Surrenders" joke, you just show how little you actually know about military history.
High command was a bunch of old and arrogant WW1 veteran and they did absolute shit on all level.
BUT the French soldiers did all they could in the face of superior forces in numbers and tactics. In reality the campaign of France has cost much more than expected to the Germans. The garrisons of the maginot line were threatened with being treated as traitors by the command because they did not want to surrender.
Well the Germans were just to strong for anyone at the begining of WWII, and that's exactly why they won all their battles until 1942.

I think this is a bit of a no-win situation.
Italy lacks any kind of strength to actually invade France proper, but likewise so does France. Given the edges the Italians would have in their own airspace and their preparations for mountain warfare, I highly doubt the French would actually be able to make much of any gains in the Alps, and suffer heavy casualties for it. Likewise, the Northern Italian terrain is more suited to Italian armored warfare - whereas the French in general have superiority in open combat with armored vehicles (Ariete is just too old - Leclerc is definitely the better tank as of now), rough terrain will change that, especially given the proliferation of 105mm and 120mm Centauro & Centauro II in the Italian army.
If the French attempt to push into the Mediterranean, they're going to have major issues. Although they operate 'common' on paper destroyers and frigates (at least for their most modern assets), the Italian versions tend to be better at AAW & ASuW (all the modern Italian surface combatants can carry Aster 30's, while only the Horizon-class DDGs can in the French Navy), and the AIP subs operated by Italy are fighting in their home turf - nuclear subs will be at a disadvantage (and the Italians will have uncontested superiority in the Med until the French can shift their forces over) - and that's not even considering the fact the Italians outnumber the French as far as surface combatants go;

(Sorry, but La Fayette, Floreal, and Minerva are far from fleet combatants. The first two are only for low-intensity patrolling of overseas territory to free up the rest of the Marine Nationale, and the last one is an ASW asset only for the Marina Militare).
Given how few French troops are on Corsica, and how much more difficult it will be for the French to block Italian traffic to the island than it will for the Italians to harass French traffic, or simply out-compete it, I would not be surprised if it fell to the Italians in the event of the war, which perhaps would flip the advantage to the Italian side.
That being said, neither country is capable of winning the war long-term, neither is economically strong enough to sustain a long war, and even where one has the edge in weapons manufacturing over the other, it's not going to be enough (or economically sustainable). Whichever country attacks, sustains more casualties, and loses war support faster (as well as resources). France is stronger in grand total numbers and as an economy, but the tactical situation does not favor her - whoever attacks the Alps loses (no, Italy's larger number of mountain troops won't equal a successful invasion - plus, if the Italian army breaks out into France it will only play to France's advantages, and probably cost Italy the war), and the Mediterranean nature of the war favors Italy.
In that way overall the situation favors Italy (despite the numbers seeming to point towards France). But, as I said before - it's a no-win situation. Neither France nor Italy has the ability to win the war, only the ability to lose the war should they make enough of a mistake.
I'd call the likely outcome to be a draw, or a defensive victory to the Italians. Neither country is conquering the continental territory of the other by a long shot.

Taking Corsica would be an absolute bloodbath for the Italians since they would face the French foreign legion and well they are pretty much the jack of all trade of the French army so sending '' normal troops'' against them might end up in a bad way for the Italian. But overall I agree with what you said this conflict would end up in a draw or maybe a defensive victory but that' s all.
... and the entire point of the video is to discuss the scenario without nukes or NATO alliances - because if that was factored in both countries would simply be irradiated wastelands as soon as one attempted to use nukes (France via indigenous weapons, Italy via B61's kept through the nuclear sharing program).
That being said, if you think either country would ever try to nuke the other in such a war, you'd have to be insane - its nothing remotely close to an existential conflict and if you use nukes there'll be nothing worth taking from the other country. In any case, the backlash faced by whichever country threatened to use nukes in the first place would be so immense they might as well give up the war.

Then, Nazi Germany invaded Scandinavia which had a lot of supplies. Then they attacked Holland, Belgium and finally France. Switzerland also let German troops walk across the country. France was attacked from North and East borders. Italy also attacked France but it wasn't a big deal. With Spain, Italy, Japan and Austria, Nazi Germany was powerful but UK and Ireland are islands so it's more difficult to invade both of these countries. It was the downfall of Europe...
PS : I forgot to mention that Austria was annexed and the politics didn't want another Great War so they got overrunned by Germany and had to surrender.

So a short war would see a marginal victory, a long war would probably result in a total victory and the collapse of the italian economy through blockade and strategic strikes.

I think the Rafale is better because of my personal bias lol but the Typhoon has some serious technologies under the hood too. And no, the F-35 is not a shit plane. Yes it had numerous serious problems while in development but this is the best plane out there when it comes to technologies. Jets are mostly flying computers nowadays relying on BVRAAMS, RWR, stealth and electronic jamming warfare.
This could mean the end of pizza and french fries. The world cannot suffer such a loss
