Iranians think it is Iranian, Turks think it is Turkish, Arabs think it is Arabic, and some people say that it is pre-Arabic Middle Eastern (Assyrian or something) and it goes on. There are even historical records attesting to the fact that the Greeks and Romans had similar dishes/desserts. Foods are on a continuum, they do not appear spontaneously. Baklava, therefore, like everything else evolved over time from earlier dishes. But, given the reality of Turkics migrating to the region relatively recently (in the last 1,000 years approx.) then it is almost certainly not a Turkish dessert. Could be Anatolian though, which I suppose many modern Turks have descent from.

This is one of the most bizarre videos I have ever seen: first a puppet from the Muppets introduces the video and then a strangely robotic sounding voice starts to go super in-depth regarding a hypothetical war between modern Greece and Turkey, with extremely interesting strategic insights and tons of extra details on-screen regarding specific armaments statistics, with the puppet popping in again at random points every once in a while. Love it.

I grew close to a delightful young lady from Cyprus who taught me about her country. The Cypriots seem very proud of their military capabilities and ties to Greece. Also, if the small sample size I encountered and 2nd hand reports are anything to go by, many Cypriots seem to believe that a second Turkish invasion would be "impossible".
I don't have an "on the ground" perspective, yet I wondered about this optimism.
I would be deeply saddened to see the world plunged into a bloody and deeply damaging war. Any progress in Europe and the middle east can only be achieved through peaceful cooperation and strengthening relations, not military conquest; further, from what I understand, many Turks would be vehemently opposed to the idea of invading Cyprus.

Turkish army is far less trained than the Greek Cypriot National Guard. The Greek Cypriot National Guard trains 18 year old Cypriots, all Greek Cypriot males by law have to serve, literally all of them, for 2 years, after that they are in reserve. Cyprus has a 2 year trained army in full mobilization with the reserves and police force that are also army trained to become cops later, up to 130000 men. The whole of Turkey has just 3 times as much and are trained at age 40 for 6 months. You can't compare them. Also Cypriots have superior armor since July 2021 and superior rifles since August 2021. As for tank destroyers and airplane destroyers Cyprus has the upper hand again. the Turkish Cypriots on the other hand do not have an army at all and rely on Turkey. So a war in Cyprus would be between Greek Cypriots and Turkey exclusively, Turkish Cypriots are not players at all. The Green Line is the 9th most militarized line in the planet and the 9th best well defended in the planet. In that short line of 185 kilometers there are is an army of 18500 of active Greek Cypriot young males fully armed in defendable positions. behind them there is a force of 115000 reserves spreading across the areas controlled by the Republic of Cyprus. It would be a suicide for the Turkish military to attack again.

This was one of the most neutral war scenarios I've ever seen in a while. Turkish mappers usually give Turkey a crushing victory while Greek mappers do the same for Greece. It was great to see Turkey actually struggle attacking Greece while Greece couldn't hold on to eastern thrace when they occupied it.

The western countries helping another country militarily cannot be underestimated, just look at the situation in Ukraine, the second most powerful military in the entire World cannot defeat Ukraine because EU and US aids. Onthe other hand, Greece extending their shoreline to 12 miles IS a valid war reasonfor Turkey, though EU and US will most probably just ignore this. Guys, the main problem here is some guys with lower IQ start to discuss an "impossible" war between Greece and Turkey. As someone said below, there are stuff in the world more important than a war between these countries. You see lots of haters here, hate against Greece, hate against Turkey. But just for once if you go to streets of both sides, and ask people "what do you think about Greece/Turkey?" and possible answers are, "they keep stealing our stuff" "they're poor" "they use our music" "i love kavala courabies" etc. The biggest problem between these countries is "stealing food" from each other. And you can't make them fight each other. For thousands of years, these countries and people live together and they can't say it but they like each other. Some bad historical memories and stupid people cannot ruin it.
I clearly remember Turkey had an earthquake in 1999 near Istanbul, and Greek newspapers wrote headlines in Turkish that says "geçmiş olsun" and prisoners in jail sent money to the Turkish people who got hurt by the earthquake. We're friends and always will be.

What I think is that Greeks and Turks should live from now on in peace. Just think about it: we are very similar to each other, have same words, same good, ect. WE should move aside all our differences aside for once and for all from the past, and LEARN from that. There is completely no reason why to hate each other. - Turkey has a higher number of helicopters, transport and tanker aircrafts.
- Turkey has a big, modern and versatile fleet of UAVs, not comparable to that of Greece.
- S400 surface to air missiles will help Turkey defend the air zone around the Aegean coasts.
2. NAVY:
- Turkish navy fleet is slightly more powerful than Greek one.
- Each Greek island on the Aegean sea will act like an aircraft carrier, and help Greece control the sea and skies around the Aegean sea.
3. LAND FORCES:
- Turkish land forces are more powerful than Greek forces.
4. ECONOMY:
- Turkish GDP is 4 times the GDP of Greece.
- Greek GDP per capita is 2 times that of Turkey.
- Turkish industrial production capacity is 8 times the capacity of Greece.
5. OTHER FACTORS:
- Greece will receive outstanding support and military aid from the EU and USA (like it did during the Greco-Turkish war in 1919-1922) while Turkey will be sanctioned.
- Turkey has a fairly advanced military industry, which by no means is comparable to Greek industry.
- Turkish military is battle-hardened, which has changed the courses of conflicts in Libya and Syria.
6. POSSIBLE OUTCOME:
- Both countries will suffer outstanding damage. (In case of total war, thousands of lives and perhaps trillion dollar of total loss within just a week!).
- As Binkov said, Turkey will annex some Greek islands off the coasts of Turkish mainland.
7. FINAL NOTES:
- I am totally against any armed conflict between the two neighboring countries. As a Turkish citizen, I want every Greek land to remain as Greek.
- The governments must abandon hostile policies towards each other. They should sit down and resolve the minor disputes over the Aegean Sea (i.e. territorial water, airspace and exclusive economic zones).
