Had a mark IV jetta (known as a bora in my country) before and had it lower than this one thing ye might want to watch out for is that the oil sump hangs quite low on them and usually what happens when you hit a bump too hard is youll rip the sump right off the car. Id look into getting a sallow sump for it theyre not to expensive and will give you great piece of mind knowing that you arnt going to ripp your sump off going over a speed bump

I like the stock suspension on my prelude. Its already only 5.7 inches ground clearance and im driving it through winter in Canada so I can't really lower it unless I bought another winter car.

putting coils on my mk4 with the front right one you need unbolt the ball joint to properly gain enough clearance lol stomping on it wasn't a good idea but I guess if it worked it worked

Those are springs. Not coilovers lol. It's ok though. I didn't know that much about cars when I was in high school either. All you guys did was install cut springs. That's why it was 40 bucks. Could have taken your factory springs and cut them and had the same result. REAL coilovers are really the only good way to get lower without wrecking your suspension.
It is technically a coilover set. It just has the spring & strut setup in the back with the coilovers in the front. My suspension is the same on my tC2, and is still sold as a coilover set.

throw a jackstand under the car even if you arent going under it, the pump part of jack can fail and a brake rotor will take off a leg pretty easy
i dont have jack stands but i use some bricks atleast
they aren't that expensive, you'd be surprised how many people drop cars on themselves and end up dead or hurt

They are coilovers. The rears are spring & strut setup while the fronts are coilovers. That's how the suspension is setup on Mk4's.
