Awesome video, Leslie and Pastor Bryant! The fried apple pies looked so delicious! I love seeing your farm. Such an amazing garden! You are both so hard working! I’m so glad your vacation is coming in a couple days! I love you guys, God bless you all! 🤗❤️🙏🏻
I said a prayer for your newly planted garden. Also remembering your family in my prayers that you will have safe travels and a nice relaxing time on your vacation. Blessings from Kentucky.
I love collard greens with a dollop of yellow mustard. Creamed potatoes, white or pinto beans, sliced tomatoes, homemade cream corn, iron skillet cornbread and a big glass of frosty cold sweet tea. Now that's fine dining. Have a blast at the beach ya'll. Don't forget to bring us all back some shells. God bless you'ins.
I’m having flashbacks to when my parents were planting their fall garden. They always planted twice as many collards as any other greens since mama said collards freeze better than any of the other greens. I just love y’all. Y’all always lift my spirits.
Aww, love the new calves,so cute ! Love when you both are out together on the farm ! Looks like your having a great time ! Love the pies! Thanks Leslie and PB!
I would design your garden in what you preserve the most for the family and plan from there My husband when he was alive didn’t decrease the size of the garden we just changed to the produce we canned or froze and surprisingly we were able to get everything we needed in one garden area every year. We just rotated the plants to keep the earth vibrant. We did some old fashioned gardening techniques like planting the corn and then in the same rows did peas and cukes
I love the cows and the babies, hope you two have a wonderful beach trip and all your garden comes up too, when my Dad was alive he planted so many greens that he shared with church family, but it was pick your own!
Awe the beautiful Farm life, boy that takes me back to my childhood. I grew up on a Farm in the PNW, nothing better in my opinion. I never knew what sweet milk was until I was able to watch you lovely Southern Ladies cook. Leslie, you & Pastor Bryant's children (and grand children) are just beautiful. Carolyn is such a pretty young Lady & Isaac is just about your twin. No worries Pastor Bryant he has your mannerism's and of course your height🤣 Have a safe and wonderful vacation. God Bless you all!
It never gets old seeing new babies born on a farm !! Pies looked great , hope Jessica enjoyed them !! I was wondering who was getting ears pierced... I thought they only have grandsons !! Lol. Not expecting it to be cows ! Lol
As kids we always had spring, summer and fall garden. It's just a matter of planting the right way. Now I container garden and only fall because our summer is always to hot and dry.
Love your fried apple pies. Thank you for showing me how to plant the greens garden. The cows and calf’s and Bobby the bull are beautiful Also love spending the day with you all. Love all your family videos. Issac is so cute 🥰 Love spending the day with you guys ❤️❤️
I love collards as well as others. I wish I lived near and would pick any you didn’t want. I hope you get a good rain while you’re on vacation. Have fun and rest up.
The spring and summer and fall gardens sound awesome...IF you can grow enough to last in the times the other gardens are in session. Garden trick...mix your greens seeds with sand, makes them easier to 'cast'. Plus you.can see where they are planted.
That’s so funny. When I was pregnant with My second I craved Turnip green and Pepsi. Couldn’t stand to smell them cooking so you mom cooked them for me. I ate them cold for breakfast with a Pepsi.
3 new babies, how sweet. The fried apple pies sure looked good and I’m sure the King Ranch Casserole was delicious. I know you are super excited about vacation.
When I make Chex mix I use rice, corn and wheat Chex plus fruit loops then I add beer nuts, cashews and whole almonds! With the sauce you make and roast it in is a bit spicy and salty the sweetness of the fruit loops just tops it off. 💕🙏🙏
You know what else is also delicious is Bisquick mix I don't know if you get that where you guys are but I use that for just about everything between pancakes cakes or dredging on chicken it is absolutely delicious
Love your channel. I’m amazed at how much you get done every day. You and Bryant and your family are such good people. Love it. I’d love to watch you make your Trash party mix. I’ve never made it but I’ve had some homemade from a friend who has passed and so recipe is lost. Have a blessed day. Thanks for letting us be a part of your life. 😁
I love Fried Apple Pies but I've never made them. I might have to try that. I need one of those pie gadgets though. 🙂 I love seeing life on the farm. I'm mostly a city girl but my grandparents were farmers and I loved going to the farm.
I would choose summer garden if not able to locate and work Both. We have had our garden at the farm all through the years but now that we have moved to our new home on the river in different part of state, not going to have much garden room. Maybe room for a greens patch. Hard to decide but I say summer garden.
@@TheFarmingPastorsWife probably the best option. We have some room on one side of lot but it is I think too shady. I favor raised beds but for sone reason my husband is very stuck on what he grew up with….. big ole farm gardens the old way . He has to think it through and change a bit I think. I have to depend on him as I can no longer get out there and make it happen myself. But I hope we may soon at least get a salad patch going. BTW, where he grew up, Halifax County, VA, they call turnip greens “ turnip salat”. Yes with a “T” if said like the older folks did. Not sure he had ever had mixed greens, Kale or collards until I came along. They are very much into turnip greens( salat) there.
You know those dumpling makers are designed to cut the dough, too. Just roll out your dough to the desired thickness and press the bottom into it like a biscuit cutter. It will be the perfect size and you'll have smooth edges, too. My mama always used dried apples in her apple pies. My great aunt made the best fried apple pies in her area--she was still making them in her 90's and she lived to be 104.
Since the corn and rice Chex are such big boxes, I get two boxes of Crispex, two boxes of Wheat Chex, a box of Cheerios, nuts, pretzel sticks. Delish! I don't add all the other things like cheese crackers, popcorn, Melba rounds etc. I just like the basics.
That was cute Pastor Bryant forgot his joke. I need you two at our house...wow as my grandma would say you were making hay today. You are a beautiful family. I want to try fry pies...Mrs.Steve
Hi Leslie a Bryant and Isaac... Enjoyed watching you make apple fried pies. My dad always rotated his garden also would plant flowers in some of the rows. Now I was an only child so our family was a total of 3. My dad loved gardening so much he had a garden that was twice the size of yours!! He would grow vegetables and not sell but give away what he grew plus we canned and froze the vegetables from his garden.🌽🍆🍅 He rotated the garden so the dirt would have a chance to rebuild its self and not be good enough to grow anything. Hope your garden does well for you. God Bless and Safe Travels on your vacation. LuvYa! Bye from NE Ohio
Really love your videos....we love, admire and pray for yall and your church...we is country too...quite inspired by your channel...enjoy the farm life aspect...I'm trying to start The Blackwater kitchen channel here in Baker, FL...yall be safe!
Love turnip greens. My grandma did turnip by themselves and then sometimes mixed mustard with them. Always have some pepper sauce on them. My only connection with NC is, I was born there, lol. Still have few cousins that live there. Think around the Rocky Mount area.
Those apple pies looked! Those cows are so pretty & that bull is ready, okkkkk 👍🏻😂😂 & yes Leslie yall have been very productive. Love, love, love seeing the beautiful farm💛the garden looks nice. I know yall are super ready to go on vacay! Hugs yall💞💞💞💞
I shared a recipe for a slaw with potatoes in it. The recipe called for sweet milk. The friend made the slaw with “sweet” milk, sweetened condensed milk!!!
Thanks Leslie ( and Pastor Bryant for getting Leslie to explain sweet milk lol) I'm in Australia and didn't know it lol .. also it's so sad that we don't have that option of crisco / half and half and other ingredients. They would be so handy to make so many of your American recipes :(
Curly mustard is my favorite but I like them all. My mother in law would fix me a pot of greens when I was pregnant with my son and I would eat all of them after I got over my morning sickness 🤗🙃😊 ❤❤from Chickamauga 👍👍
Leslie I planted zucchini summer squash and tomatoes cukes well the tomatoes came in ok but no zucchini no summer squash I talked to my neighbor who is great at veg garden because of the drought we had no bees to pollen the flowers …omg I give up omg I love swish-chard spinach with vinegar it is too good and cukes sitting in vinegar on the table sooooo good
Iam new to your video family, and your husband was right I didn’t know what sweet milk was. Iam a Buckeye from Ohio. I always use buttermilk in my biscuit.
Hi Leslie I have a whole set of those crimpers different sizes. I usually make a smaller size of apple pies. So easy with the gadget. Wish I was closer as I could furnish Issacs kitchen. Have many thingsI don’t need anymore.
I would divide the space and do half spring/half summer. I'd rather have a good variety of fresh veggies throughout the summer and fall. I agree with Bryant--how many greens can you eat?
Lol Pastor Bryant I am in vacation mode 🤣made the zucchini bread today but put chocolate chips and nuts in it so the hubby will eat it He loved it doesn’t like banana bread fried apple pies looked wonderful. Baby calf’s are so cute
So many folks are having trouble buying groceries, maybe you can figure out a way to let a few trusted families use a portion of your garden space to grow food for themselves. ??? That may not be workable but it's a thought.
Your garden is huge, do one part spring and fall, and the rest summer garden. But in new york, we're lucky if everything gets ripe before snow! Or frost!
HEY LESLIE I HAVE ENJOYED AGAIN ANOTHER VIDEO.I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO LIVE OUT IN THE WIDE OPEN AS YOU,IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. I LIVE ABOUT AN HOUR FRM YOU AND HAVE A PASTOR FRIEND THAT LIVES CLOSE TO TOWN THERE.HOPE YOU AND BRYANT HAVE A WONDERFUL VACATION AND BE SAFE.
You have such a large garden area and you are not using all of it. Why not plant half with spring then fall plants, the other half in summer plants? Best of both worlds! Enjoy your vacation! It’s well deserved. I’m jealous!
Awesome video, Leslie and Pastor Bryant! The fried apple pies looked so delicious! I love seeing your farm. Such an amazing garden! You are both so hard working! I’m so glad your vacation is coming in a couple days! I love you guys, God bless you all! 🤗❤️🙏🏻

Your Isaac is just a nice guy. You should be proud!💞
Yes! Spring, Summer, Fall gardens would be great! ♥️
You go Pastor Bryant! Every pastor needs a relaxation period! Enjoy and relax at the beach!
I would design your garden in what you preserve the most for the family and plan from there

You two are such hard workers. You put me, a city slicker to shame! Great video! Such cute calves.
As kids we always had spring, summer and fall garden. It's just a matter of planting the right way. Now I container garden and only fall because our summer is always to hot and dry.
Loved watching you in the garden. My parents always added some dirt with the mustard seed and then spread it. Enjoy your vacation. 🙂
ISSAC NICE TO SEE YOU IN THE VIDEO AND YOUR HOUSE LOOKS GREAT.
The Fried Apple Pies look yummy! I agree with you, Leslie. All the greens are good, but collards are my favorite too.

We have seen mixing them with sand and I believe that works great, we've never tried it though

I haven't had salit in years. Love it so much! Have a great vacation!
I’m going to need receipts for the greens love the garden
Nothing beats fresh produce!
That is a cool way to mark off rows. 👍. See, just because something is different doesn't mean it's wrong. Could be a great time saving idea.
I would choose summer garden if not able to locate and work
Both. We have had our garden at the farm all through the years but now that we have moved to our new home on the river in different part of state, not going to have much garden room. Maybe room for a greens patch. Hard to decide but I say summer garden.

How’s your garden doing?
Just fyi keep pet milk on shelf for back up.
