Don't sweat what others say/think. My mom always told me there is more than one way to peel an apple, and none of the are wrong. I'm sure this apple's to canning along with anything else we do. Learning from others isn't a bad thing.

I'm the only one of the three of us that likes peppers. I'm an introvert. Alone time is essential for me as it's when I recharge my energy. My sister is the only living person that doesn't drain my energy. Even Lee and our son Daniel are energy vampires to me.

I love jalapenos & use them in tons of stuff. I make jalapeno jelly, using jalapeno in place of fruit obviously. It's so good. Since you like this, you should try the jelly! I use it on biscuits & all the stuff you'd expect but it's also great to add into recipes. I use it when I make a ham & it is YUMMY!

We had persimmons in our back yard a long time ago. They were the size of a baseball tho, not small like yours. I wonder which variety tastes better. I tried one of ours before it was ready and was more than a bit stunned by how shockingly bitter it was. I can say honestly, I will never do that again.

    • @TheFarmingPastorsWife

Next time you make cowboy candy put the peppers in the food processor.
I do it all the time .
Works great. Your pieces are way to large.Maybe not for your recipe. I use a different one.

Thank You for this ! I feel you’ve canned for years and probably have more canning experience than most of the ones doing the 100% do it like this ... not being disrespectful to those who do the study.. but a true home canner of years knows a thing or to !! You do you ... Blessings to you all ! 🙏❤️

I talked to my christian nurse about how she has a pretty voice and she told me for a long time she was afraid to sing solo's at church she knew the devil was holding her back. So she decided to do it and people were blessed and I told her you never know what people are going thru and needed to hear that song you sang. You always make yummy goodies Leslie God bless

the canning community sounds like the quilting community. lol
the"quilt police" took the air out of my sails in the beginning. took all the fun out of it and had me frozen.
not anymore! i do what i wanna do!
i figure the women in a covered wagon going west made beautiful quilts! sometimes people can over complicate things n take all the fun out of what its meant to be.
dont let those "canning police" effect what you do.

A quick way to make these is to buy pickled ones and pour off the juice. If your jar is 8 oz. I would put from a fourth to a half cup of sugar in the jar. Replace the lid and give it a shake and let sit a couple of days, turning a couple of times a day. Upside, upright, etc. As the sugar melts, it will make the juice. Chill and enjoy. Another similar goodie, take a gallon of whole dill pickles and pour off juice. Cut in slices or chunks and return to jar. A a 4-5 lb. bag of sugar and 2 oz of Tabasco or another hot sauce. Add more if you like spicy. Let them set and the sugar melt into juice. Turn like the peppers. Chill and enjoy. DO NOT use polish dills. Just plain dills.

The Cowboy Candy looks amazing!! I’ve never had that before, and never seen anyone make it either, so I really enjoyed watching you make it today.:) That’s such a great way to preserve all of those end of the year jalapeño’s that are coming in like crazy! Thanks for sharing, and God Bless.:) 🙏🏼🌻👍
