    Amazing video, solved my problem a treat. Ended up using the end of a 5.5mm drill bit ground down to fit both the basket and drive gear perfectly. No more clutch noise! Thanks RB! ♥

    Cracking vid, im about to strip down the clutch on a 92 600s i bought a few years ago but just left standing in garage, done a few jobs lately ready to take for mot but found engaging 1st, nuetral and 2nd gear difficult, ive tied back the lever and left for a few days but need to do the rattle pin anyway so will inspect clutch and change if necessary. This vid will be a huge help cheers

      Hi, Thanks for the comments. It sounds as if you have a couple of plates sticking together. A good strip down and clean of all the plates will probably get it working perfectly again.

    Hi. Great video. Any idea if the FZS600 Fazer clutch rattle is the same problem?

    • @RestorationBiker
      @RestorationBiker  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Chris, thanks for the nice comments. I love the Fazer. I very nearly bought a new one when they first come out. I have owned a couple of them since but they were secondhand. Great bikes. I love the gold paint scheme. The clutch is different on the Fazer. They do suffer from a clutch 'rattle' Normally this can be improved by doing a proper carb balance, as the clutch rattles if the carbs are out. If that doesn't cure it, then you need to dis-assemble the clutch and check the condition of the clutch basket and the clutch plates (the ears of the plates especially) Make sure that there are no 'burrs' on the basket where the plates contact the basket. If you strip it and want any other help, feel free to contact me and I will help if I can.

    Good video pal just wondering what u used for the new pin

      Glad you enjoyed it. I had a length of steel bar the right diameter for the pin. The only problem was I forgot to film me doing it, so I had to 'skip' over it.
      The bike runs superbly now with no more noise from the clutch basket.

    Hi i have same noise with pin
    What you use for made pin ??? Thanks a lot. Welding wire can be 3mm?

    • @RestorationBiker
      @RestorationBiker  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, you can use anything for the replacement pin, it just has to be the right size. I have seen bolts cut and used, I used a roll pin. That allows you to knock it it and keeps it from rattling around

      I used a 3mm Alan key, cut and rounded it with a file then hammered it straight into the pin.

    I put my whole clutch back together right, And now the cable doesn't fit right, And the clutch lever when I pull won't make the clutch engage and work

    • @RestorationBiker
      @RestorationBiker  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, yes, I know what you have done. On the top where the clutch cable fits onto the arm. You need to remove the small arm that is held by a circlip, and then re-position it in the correct position.
