Going to be pulling my clutch and replacing disk for first time. Wish me luck. Major clutch slip at only 24k miles. Not abused. And a horrible clutch rattle
good luck! You can do it! Be careful going back together with the clutch cover and pull lever, getting them lined up correctly is the hardest part of the entire job.
Had the same issue. It's that chain on the oil pump. If you grab a new one and throw it on you'll see the difference. There's way less slack in a new one. That chain smacks the guides. That's what mine was anyways.
Really?? I swear it sounds like its coming from that area! I debated replacing it just while I was in there, but I thought for certain it was the water pump. I wonder if its possible to do the chain without pulling the oil pan. You wouldn't happen to know? Id be interested in maybe replacing it this winter if all I had to do was pull the clutch basket.
The special tool bit made me 😂. Another way you can make a clutch holder if tou are in a pinch and replacing the clutch disk anyway you can bolt or rivet four plates together (two outer two inner) and it makes a great clutch lock. Did you figure out the noise?
oh that would make a great holder! I need to start saving parts so I can make tools with the leftovers lol I haven't figured out the noise yet, I've been pretty busy with some other stuff lately. Hoping to get further with it this weekend. But I'll have to see.

If your hearing a rattling noise it’s for sure the worn springs on the back of the clutch basket.
