Apparently once when I was a kid, when we went to my grandparents house, I went over to my dad who was talking to my grandad; I looked at my grandad, then at my dad, then back at my grandad, and then burst into tears because I couldn't tell them apart lol

My family have a picture of me on my grandpa's arms and there is my dad standing next to us. I was around one year old and I was crying because I could understand what was happening (they both have beards and long hair and look alike).
And for around three or four years I couldn't understand why my mom and my godmother are two different people if the look alike (they both thin, had long black hair, glasses, although they not related) and I love them equally as much, just one is always right beside me and one comes once a month.
And I am look a lot like my mom, if we both have short hair (just I am blonde and taller) and my BFF's little brother thought that I have a teleport, so that's why I'm in two different places at once.
So yeah, I completely understand you😂😂😂

This honestly made me cry. I'm an adult now and whether as a kid or as I am currently, I would always know my mother's scent as well as the warmth of her embrace. It may be peculiar but even if I got friendly hugs, it doesn't give off the same feelings with my mom's. My mother's passed away 5 years ago and this really made me miss her much.

For real, like nobody can gave the same hug and warmth my mom does. The only difference we have is she died 3 years ago. I miss her so much! Her voice, her soft tummy that I always love to hug, and her face that I often stare. 😭❤️
This has left me wondering what it would feel like to be a child that revives hugs, warmth and that kind of care from a parent. To the point where one could remember it and almost feel it even as an adult. I can't even imagine it. You were lucky to have that!

Our children have no idea how much they mean to us. How much we love them. An extension of ourselves. It's emotional for the mothers because it reaffirms for us what we've always wanted. For them to love us just as much as we love them and for us to KNOW it for sure.

Every kid loves that particular smell that comes from his mother...i can't explain... it's a motherly kind of smell that only kids can notice and loves it.
It’s the “smell”!!!! 4 years my momma went to heaven. Christmas hurts the most. How I miss her!! But I still do everything that she would do for us on Christmas. I have added some new traditions but I keep the old to my heart!! I miss you so!!

Seeing this and not having my mom here with me anymore really breaks my heart, but finding out I'm pregnant and that I'm going to be a mom eventually really warms my heart. I pray my child and I will have the same relationship I had with my mom.
FunFact: the first voice the baby recognize from too young befor they can even see well is thier mother's voice.
I think that is because child is in mother's belly and he/she can hear her voice everytime when she is speaking.🤰💕

The idea that a child or a mother wouldn't know their own mother or child blindfolded is crazy, of course! It's still so sweet to see. The bond between mother & child is the strongest, most powerful, most natural thing in the entire world. Not just for humans! It is the center the universe, that love and instinct. It's more than the touch of her hair, or lines of her face. It's also the scent of mama. When i was little, and my mom had to work late at night and i missed her, she would leave me her sweater. I'll never forget that. The scent of my mom helped me get to sleep without crying. It had a physiological effect.

At present time, I wonder if I'd be able to identify my mother blindfolded.
She's working overseas for 20yrs, I was 3 months old when she left me. Over that years she only came home 5 times, and her longest stay is 3 weeks. And in that 3 weeks, mostly she will stay in bed sleeping and I don't even bother her because I know she's tired, so I lay beside her and watch her sleeping. I missed my mom so much

The relationship mother/child is so instinctual , we are mammals after all . I don’t know how could anyone would delete a mother from a child . Unfortunately nowadays we live under this ideology that mother and father are interchangeable or that one of the two can even be deleted ... the mother is not cancellable .One of the many reasons to be against surrogacy .

I don't even know how to describe this other than *human*. There's just something so inherently *human* about easily, undoubtedly knowing your mother even without sight. That even small differences will let you know automatically. I love that type of thing in humans, that there's a deep primal instinct that will let us identify our loved ones even without some of our most used senses.

my mom has a very particular smell from the combination of her various beauty products and the reaction to her own skin chemicals - occasionally our AC will waft it into the living room at night after she's gone to bed and I just instinctively inhale so deep and feel so at peace and happy cause *that's my mom*
