    OBS Studio mic settings are pretty straightforward but they can be confusing at first. Today, I'll show you how to remove background noise, how to add a noise gate, how to add a compressor to OBS and a bunch more.
    All we are using for this are OBS Filters, with one of them being an OBS Studio VST Plugin called Marvel GEQ. Enjoy!

    Actually well explained video compared to others out there. I appreciate the in depth explanation for what the settings and sliders are actually doing, instead of just brushing over it. I didn’t know that the order of the filters was important.

    Extremely thankful for this video. My mic now sounds at least a solid 11/10. Also, if your mic sounds like it's "wavy" (the best I could describe it), push the Expander threshold slightly to the right until the weird wavy thing goes away.

    Great video - I ended up skipping on the compressor because my mic is so close to my keyboard that to remove keyboard from activating it is to remove my voice. But noise suppression seems very good and gets rid of the majority of typing sounds anyway! I'm not noticing a huge difference from the noise filters, but I do like the audio equalizing aspects of this tutorial, I always worry that things might be too quiet or too loud and now I can rest assured knowing it'll be good.

    If you have issues making it show up, make sure you install to this path: "C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins"
    OBS for one is hardcoded to only look up VST files with that pathing.

    Awsome video once again. I still struggle with my mic mostly on my high notes of voice most times it doesnt pick it up and also on the expander my mic no matter what i do it still picks up my keyboard. I have a cardoid mic around 20 25 cm distance from my mouth and around 30 35 cm from my keyboard do u have any advices how should i put my mic? and last question if u can answer is there any program with filters like OBS that i can appla to my mic everywhere on my pc? My work is recording my voice and i do it on Filmora but many times it picks up the fans of my pc or now during summer the air condition would really apreciate if u can answer especially this last question. And as always i really thank u for all ur work it helps alot and i support ur channel alot

  • @deadbenttv
    @deadbenttv 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    with the rtx noise suppressor you don't need to add a expander anymore huh? it works so goooood!!!!

  • @ellisgl
    @ellisgl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Personally I would cut everything under 80 Hz, this will help eliminate some noise. Of course if your voice dips under 80 Hz (I can reach 80 If I'm trying), you might need to find the best spot to to cut down from.

  • @agauerm
    @agauerm ปีที่แล้ว

    You don´t need the expander, you are only making quieter sounds louder. The compressor already levels your voice quite nicely. On the EQ you might wanna apply a low cut between 60 - 80Hz. Another plugin that I use is a DeVerb, it removes the echo/reverberation from your room and your voice sounds more clear and dry.

  • @PureChaos
    @PureChaos 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great video. Helped a lot. I have always struggled with OBS mic settings. I mean, I have set it to get the job done, but the plugin filter and the other filters I never used much seem to have improved my audio through the mic. Now if they just made a plugin to actually change my voice to sound like Walter Kronkite or something, I would have it made. lol. I suggest with a mic like the Tonor 30 you turn windows record volume to 75 first; otherwise it will constantly sound horrible despite filters. But that is very microphone specific and something Tonor 30 owners should already know..

    • @flamerzzzz
      @flamerzzzz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to turn mine down to 60 first, or else it sounds like I'm talking in a microwave

    • @PureChaos
      @PureChaos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@flamerzzzz Yeah, mine works best between 60 and 75. Right now I have it at 65 in windows and then adjusted in OBS from there. Anything over 75 on most computers makes it sound like stanky garbage.
