Thank you so Much for this video, I've been watching so many different videos and getting frustrated because nothing was really sounding right when I record. I just found this video this morning and did a test recording and the night and day difference is unbelievable. I can't wait to jump in and do some new recordings. 🤗
Thank you!!!!!!!! I was at my wits end trying to setup Waves Studio Verse on a MB M3. So, I figured why not try the OBS stock plugins. Your setup sounds amazing and is much less clunky.
Thanks so much for this video. I was looking for something super simple no nonsense to get started recording for my channels and my audio sounds leagues better.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It will help me with my videos for sure. Definitely helped me with the "Monitor and Output" for real-time editing since I'm a musician and this is how I do my audio stuff. It's just more streamlined and more my style. Thanks again, Chiselchip!
Thank you kindly, I use a focusrite solo and a mxl condenser mic with your settings pretty much and it sounds SOOOO much better. Truly has that podcaster sound now, very full and with the boost in bass and gain I was able to lower my input gain on the focusrite down quite a bit, I actually had to turn my sliders down a bit in OBS. Thank you for that.
Wow!!!! i have tried it with my BM800 Condenser, and it works! No VoiceMeter, no VB Cable, this setting is so awesome. you are awesome. thank you dude. keep it up!
I upgraded to the Elgato wave 3 usb mic for my streaming . The default setting plus the app effect are amazing.I was getting the full crisp sound i wanted Until i came across your channel. Now , I love the sound thats coming out . Thank you so much !
@@Chiselchip my channel focuses on indoor cycling and racing, so I have to have multiple fans going at the same time and thanks to your tips all I hear is my voice now. Truly grateful
Question: how can I allow background music to be allowed through? Also, if I’m getting a gurgling or burping sound in the moments when I’m not speaking, any recommendations on what to check or adjust. If you have a video that addresses this feel free to send me there so you don’t have to re-explain. Thanks again!
Hey so I watched last night and recorded some videos and just wanted to come back and say thank you. I've watched so many videos and none of them made me satisfied with my sound. This has been going on for years lol. Thanks again man.
got kinda confused on why to use the expander because of another vid i followed, got stressed out because of it lmao, but your video made it make sense hahah. thanks so much for the vid, helped loads!
Very good tutorial!! I just made the switch over to Linux and I'm having one heck of a time getting plugins to work properly, yet this tutorial made it so my SM7B sounds great with just the standard OBS filters. Thanks!
Thank you so much I dont sound like minimouse with a stuffy nose now. Now if I can figure out how those timelaps build vids are done I should be all set
hey bro, I appreciate you making this vid. I just hooked up my ntg video mic to my streaming setup and its amazing clear... maybe a little too clear at times haha you can hear an inhale when i'm stuffy 🤧defiantly getting a thumbs up from me! 👍
How do you have a sepeerate track for "desktop audio"? I only have a mic/aux that fluctuates when my desktop plays any audio AND ALSO picks up when I talk.. not sure how both my desktop audio and voice are being picked up into one track.. can anyone help!!!
that is weird, mine just defaulted to that. I know for people on mac it can be different and you have to manually add it so might be worth looking at a video for mac users to see@@IzzyMojica
Hello, sorry for bothering. I have a question - I record with OBS, my mic is headset Marvo HG 8935. When I record, I hear some hissing, like.. high frequencies. Not too loud, but I hear it. I tried to record with any filter, with or without them, even in Audacity I can hear that. Maybe you help me? P.S. I noticed, this hissing comes with any mic.
@@IzzyMojica well, i think i'm bit late XD When you open Advanced Audio Propeties, you see all to the right the "Tracks", you have to put in different tracks your mic and whatever you want to record, Example: My microphone is in Track 1 and the videogame is in Track 2, so if something from Windows pop up with a sound, its never going to add to the Record. Other important things is, in "Source" i put "Application Audio Capture (BETA)" and there you can select what audio you wanna record, a video for Chrome, music for any music player or a specific game, again in "Advanced Audio Properties" uncheck all other Tracks and check only 2 or depends on you, more tracks but never the same as the other, like i said before: my microphone is in Track 1 and ONLY in Track 1, the other ones are uncheck and for videogame in Track 2 and only in Track 2. For last: in Settings for OBS, Output, don't forget check the Audio Track numbers you are using
@@d66user-purple13 I noticed hissing at first too using my blue yeti when I listened back to my stream, luckily the mic I use has a knob where I can mess with the gain settings, that worked somewhat but then I added another gain filter on OBS and that worked perfectly! Maybe try this? FYI: Im not familiar with the mic you mentioned, I imagine its a headset with a mic - if so, I'm not sure at all
I would like to add that you should use a noise gate if your mic picks up your ac or pc fan in the background. I have a blie yeti condenser mic and instead of using the noise suppression i used a noise gate instead which sounded a lot better for voice quality.
Best sound settings Best tutorial for obs audio settings on TH-cam I was in a Great trouble due to obs sound settings but this one video solve my all problems Great job
Thanks bro. Great video. I was searching someone who will explain me what's work of different filters in the mic section, so that I can increase my voice quality in my streams. Since I don't have very good earphone so I need to improve my voice quality by any software settings only. And they way you explained each and everything, this will help me a lot. Thanks again. 😊

Finally got my HyperX Solocast sounding great with this tutorial! Now to get a shock mount and boom arm to help with the keyboard and mouse sounds. Also, hearing myself speak, I've realized just how slow I talk compared to other content creators 😂😂.
Really great video!! can you do one for warzone audio?? the audio there seems to have a mind of its own, and it is really hard to get clean sound out of your mic.
@@spudtaters8419 it’s definitely more natural! I’ve settled on something in between for my videos. I definitely wouldn’t add reverb to a voice unless you’re doing music or something else
I have a "Rode NT Mini" and I pretty much followed your tutorial to a tee with the only three exceptions that I set my mids and highs to 3, left the lows at 0 and adjusted the output gain in the Expander to my liking - at 4. Everything sounds great, no weird popping and all that jazz, which basically was my issue with my old settings, but there's a constant noise throughout my sentences and the best way to describe it is - a very low volume 900-1000Hz hum. It's most audible before the start of a line and after I finish talking. Do you have any idea what the cause might be?
Can you possibly guide me into fixing an issue I have with OBS and my DAW? I'm using Reaper into OBS but I'm getting weird phasing issues I can't seem to fix. Thanks for the tutorials
Just one question. Why do you apply gain to all the noise and try to reduce it? Wouldnt it make more sense if you first removed all kinds of noise and apply gain to the clean sound at the end of the chain?
I record gaming videos with my audio. but i always struggle with ratio of game audio and my audio what they should be and how do u manage them in Adobe or obs so that i do not need to edit them every time
@chriselchip. Please can you assist. I'm trying to tie Zoom into OBS to use when I have guest to interview in my podcast. OBS is the Primary and streams to TH-cam. I've installed Virtual Audio Cables but although the zoom test mic and speakers work off the test button, no sound either way when zoom is open? Thanks for any advise.
Another great OBS alternative: bit.ly/3QVYtLw record video/audio even on low end PC/Mac. Hardware acceleration supported.
