    This plugins functionality is now included in the latest versions of OBS, so there's no need to download or install the plugin anymore. Everything else in this guide is still the same though!

    OK, for people wanting to capture sound alert audio, via a browser source:
    Double click the browser sources then in the properties window tick the "control audio via OBS" box. That adds it as a separate source in the mixer. This will send to stream but not you, yet.
    Then, in the audio mixer, click on the cogs, then for all your browser alerts change it to monitoring and output, then you'll be able to hear them too

    I was a little confused at first about how to add the Desktop Audio once we took it away for the Win Audio Capture Plugin BUT I figured it out.
    You've gotta add each INDIVIDUAL source; game, music, discord, whatever as those will come through the nested scene. Even the games themselves need to be added as individual sources in say one "game source" within your nested audio sources. So if you change games you'll still have your other game's audio and wont need to change the source on the fly.
    Thanks Pete you're always the go to. Keep working hard

    I noticed that a lot of people in the comments have this issue for gaming audio and here's my potential fix:
    I made a 'Games' audio source, and checked the 'Capture All Audio EXCEPT sessions from the selected executables' checkbox. Then I added my other audio sources
    for example: Discord, Browser, Music, etc. to that list.
    Its not perfect but that's my solution.

    May I compliment you on using the CORRECT audio levels. So many people believe you need to get as close to "0" (zero) or full scale, but that is absolutely wrong. The green section is just that... green, go, okay. The yellow section is a warning that you are getting too loud. And to hit the red section means "you're too damned loud". I spoke with two friends, both audio engineers, and they confirm that your audio should never really go into the yellow, and definitely not ever hit the red.
    In my studio, I shoot for a level of around -20, which coincidentally is where the green section of your audio meters transitions to the yellow section. Yes, occasional peaks go into the yellow section, but I never ever let my audio get near the red section. When audio is that loud, you're probably getting some distortion, and the possibility of severe clipping. Audio hitting zero, and going even louder (which is not possible in the digital domain) is simply distortion. Proper audio levels make for cleaner audio overall, which is a joy to listen to!

    UPDATES: I’ve been using this for about 2 months ago for twitch. No issues occurred until this week. 1. The game audio does not automatically switch like game capture. So be aware of that. There have been many times where I switch games and then my chat tells me the game is muted. 2. If you change a setting for the plugin during stream, it can crash obs live. 3. Yesterday my audio desynced in the vod for the very first time. It was about a second delay. This never happened before I downloaded the plugin. 4. Today my audio was very choppy and my mods told me that it was everything except for my mic which is exactly pointing to the plugin messing up.
    Please note that I am not trying to shit on this plugin, I know it’s still in beta and has done very well until this week. However, I would still look at voicemeeter if you have the money for better stability and knowledge that it won’t mess up your stream.

      I've had the same sound glitch issue you mention on No.4 since installing the plugin. Everything expect my mic (which is the only source not going through the plugin) gets sound glitches every 10-15 minutes which last around 5 seconds. Sometimes it happens in moments you might want to save for clips and generally disrupts the viewer experience. Im considering buying an elgato wave device just to use their software at this point. Everything else I've tried seems to have issues. 😩

    Great tutorial and I'm glad to see this feature finally supported natively in OBS.
    I want to find out if there's an easy way to capture game audio only in an easy way. Obviously this feature is great for capturing specific apps like Spotify and Discord into their own tracks, but if you play multiple games, it might become tedious to add a new source for each one. I pretty much always play games with music or Discord in the background, and when I record something, I want to be able to have game audio by itself in it's own track. Should I just stick with Voicemeter if that's the case?

    You can even add hardware controls to all the faders inside OBS utilizing a midi controller like the Korg Nanokontrol2, the midi-mixer software, and the OBS Studio plugin for the midi-mixer software. And bam, can assign any hardware fader or knob from the midi controller to any of the audio sources in OBS.

    For anyone wondering, if you want to capture the computer audio (for games for instance) you can simply choose the option to capture everything BUT the selected executables (I would add obs to said list). You could also add obs a a sound source to control alert and shoutout volumes.

      I found the solution. Another creatore made a video about it so I want to give him credit for it. His name is: "woodgnomezombie".
      What you need to do is:
      1. Rightclick the alert box sources, go to properties and select "control audio via obs". That will make it appear in the audio mixer list.
      2. Then go to Advanced audio properties and set the alert box source to "monitor and output", so you will hear it as well when an alert comes in and not only the stream.
      Enjoy =)

    I have a few issues, if anyone knows how to help, that would be greatly appreciated.
    1) I am on a later version of the Win-Capture-Audio Plugin, which has a different in-OBS UI. I think I navigated it pretty well, but it didn't have a few of the options that you mentioned in the video.
    2) Whenever I put executables into the OBS sources, through the Audio Plugin, they work fine and audio is sensed, but only for that executable's session. Once I close an executable and re-open it, the audio is no longer sensed in OBS's Audio Mixer. I believe I can just remove the executables and re-assign them and it'd work fine, but that's just a hassle that I'd like to avoid messing with every time I want to stream/record.

    Thanks for the video! This is the first video of yours that I have come across, and I found it because I was searching for comparisons between using this method and Steelseries Sonar in Steelseries GG. Even though Sonar seems much simpler than Voicemeeter, it's pretty annoying having to change my default sound devices in Windows every time without completely closing out Sonar when I am not using it, and I notice a lot of duplicate audio sources in Sonar as well (OBS Studio 64-bit popping up as an unmapped audio source like 3-4 times). It also gives me a hard time with dragging sources to certain categories, like some will disappear entirely and reroute as an unmapped audio source, or revert back to where it originally was despite trying to change the source.
    As a new streamer, I think I am going to give this a try first even though it is in Beta, but I feel that this will give me more "peace of mind" than having to use an external piece of software to manage all of my audio. It's a shame because the ClearCast AI Noise Cancelation feature in Sonar was very nice, but again, it could probably be done in OBS as well.
    Just a question I have: In the Nested Scene, I assume I need to add separate audio source for each game I play for it to have its own slider, right? For example, Helldivers, CoD, and Fortnite should all have their own slider in audio mixer?
    Many thanks, and looking forward to seeing other videos from you.

    • @MatrixProHD
      @MatrixProHD 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think I found the answer to my question, and I believe the answer is no. I downloaded the latest version of this plug-in and now it lets you add a list of executables for a single capture.
      For example, I created an Application Audio Output Capture and named it Comms, then I added the Discord executable and Xbox Game Bar widgets for chats and parties. So, I created one named Game and added all of the game executables I’ll use for my stream so I can manage the audio for any game on that one mixer/slider.
