Classic RPG franchise, Suikoden, will return in 2023 with the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars. Announced by Konami at TGS 2022, the games will feature a variety of improvements and quality-of-life features, including auto-battle, double-speed battle, enhanced pixel sprites and environment art, HD character portraits, new sound effects, and more.
Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch in 2023.

It's not a coincidence, this track was made by the "Konami Kukeiha Club," the internal Konami sound team, which did the OST for Symphony of the Night. Michiru Yamane is a member of the team and has done Konami soundtracks since even the Game Boy. She did the OST to Fall of the Foot Clan as well as the OST to Castlevania Bloodlines on the Genesis.
This track is an obvious and direct homage to Castlevania, deliberately set apart from the tone of the rest of SKII's soundtrack.

Few games are as deserving of remasters as these two games. The only thing marring these incredible games was their English translations, now perhaps they can finally shine as brightly as they truly deserve!

Ikr but damage wise the best attacker is killey, Hai Yo, and Sheena. The had 3 empty Rune Slot

This is great and as much as Konami is a shadow of what it once was they handle the remaster packages pretty well imo. Finally these two great JRPG's can be a lot more accessible superior to the originals which go for ridiculously laughable prices on the second hand market.
Whoever in charge of the game UI should be fired. They should respect the game artstyle and making the UI that compliment to it.

Can't say I'm a big fan of the new sound effects, however I'm still so excited for this. These are my 2 favorite games of all time!
The sound effects were bugging me too. Still gonna get it though because it might just be the nostalgia talking.
And the font and the looks is slight off (window pane)

You are aware that they released the Cowabunga Collection and made a LOT of people happy just about two weeks ago, right?
Suikoden 2 is my second favourite game from PSX, second only to Xenogears. Unfortunately, Xenogears is one of those ultra complex games to remaster - it’s huge in scope, it begs for extra content toward the end, and (most importantly) most of the dev team works for Nintendo now-specifically Monolithsoft.
This is the best news to come out of TGS so far, shame capcom didn’t have anything to show for the breath of fire community

Some of the new menu sound effects aren't doing it for me. Would like to see a customizable menu where you can choose between retro and new sound/design for different things
Suikoden has amazing ost's, rearrange albums, vocal albums, and piano arrangement albums. great boss battle music!
I'm glad the quality and effect the same as Octopath.
I'm absolutely buy this remaster and starting to nostalgia again :-D

My all time favorite game, and definitely favorite RPG of all time. Have mixed feeling about this. Looking to get PC version for simple aesthetic mods, but I'm wondering how they're going to handle the re-translation. Then there's always the possibility that if this hits big, we may get a Suikoden 6 after all.

Hope they didnt remove the squeal like a pig scene of Luca Blight. This is where you will feel rage. BTW Luca is the best Antagonist in all JRPGS. Brute strength, a human with no powers but still can beat around 3 teams and catching hundred arrows. He is so cool . Hope they buff him also and making it harder .

...Konami know they wrong. The original Suikoden team had been begging for them to greenlight Suikoden, and now that the original team has Eiyuden Chronicles they want to cash in. I'm gonna get this, of course, but it's gonna leave a bitter taste in my mouth until they get on board with the OG team.
The remasters look and sound like an RPG maker game.
The sound effects and 1's new art is absolutely awful. What was Konami thinking.
