During my most recent playthrough I felt we got a small taste of that as we go through the castle at L’Renouille. You see the war room that was likely a parallel to the war room at Dunan castle.
Oh how i have been waiting. Suikoden was my first step into the world of JRPGs. And boy, what a world it is. Suikoden will always hold a speacial place in my heart. I can't wait to step into the magic once more.
Your video showed up on my feed randomly. I’m glad that it did and thank you. Suikoden I & II were my absolute favorite games as a kid, and what got me interested in RPGs. I had no idea that they were doing a remaster of these games. I’m super excited about this.
I'm glad it helped you find out about the remaster! They were my favourite childhood games too, and still are my favourite games today! Suikoden is what got me into gaming.
I completely understand that the character model sprites are the same original one and they had to redo the background art to fit the modern display screen. It's understandable. What I don't understand is that the original showcase of the game was on a CRT tv of which, the graphic is not looking pixelated like this before. Thus, they must give us some kind of CRT shader option to tone down it's horrible pixelation of the characters. Because the one we have presented today IS NOT WHAT THE ORIGINAL SCREEN LOOKED LIKE BACK THEN on a CRT TV screen.
I think instead of an instant level 99 and potch cheat/feature, they could introduce a New Game + and let us carry over levels, potch, equipment, etc. Might go down better with more fans.
Agreed! Though my physical copies have been nice and snug on my shelf, and for the last 10 years I've been emulating them instead of playing my physical versions.
My wishlist includes :-) (which is more for a REMAKE LOL) Suikoden 1: - 3 Rune slots for playable characters - Joshua is playable with his Dragon Rune being usable - Random characters/races like Wingers from Jowston makes a cameo/appearance (for continuity) - Showing the short alliance between Liberation Army and Tinto-South Window Forces Suikoden 2: - A Prologue showing the events after the Gate Rune Wars where Toran recaptures the territory lost to Tinto and South Window - Badlands can be explored - Moon Rune is usable via Sierra - Luc’s True Wind Rune is usable - Rune of the Beginning is usable
Unfortunately, I think the preorder page confirmed that characters are limited to a single rune in Suikoden 1. The preorder bonus is a fortune and prosperity rune and it states that the main character can not equip them.
That's a big wishlist. Being able to have 3 rune slots like in Suikoden 2 would be cool, but sadly it's already confirmed Suikoden 1 will remain as 1 rune per character. Moon Rune and True Wind Rune are fair requests, but probably won't happen. The rest is definitely more remake territory, you can dream!
Spain Spanish and Latin America Spanish are quite different. It's like the difference between British English and American English. There's different slang and intonations. Lisps from my experience are more common in Spain.
DLC DLC DLC!!!! Clive and Elza DLC Pesmerga DLC George Prime DLC Lucia DLC Creating some bridges between the second and third games would be amazing! This would require all new story writing though, and I think it’s a big dream to think they’d go that far.
Bridges between the second and third game already exist. Suikogaiden Vol 1 and Vol 2. They're visual novels that follow Nash. Suikogiaden Vol 1 takes place during Suikoden 2 and shows a lot of off screen events, and Suikogaiden Vol 2 takes place a few months after Suikoden 2. Lots of recurring characters and stories told. But yes, I agree I'd love to see some character based chapter dlc that flesh out their stories some more. Sadly, that probably won't ever happen though.
@@uggabugg The Suikogaidens have English fan translation patches. They're playable if you can find the roms. Unless you mean if they were turned into an rpg since a lot of people don't like or won't play visual novels.
Many people in the comments seem to be in agreement with you about wanting more secrets and story added. But it probably won't happen, it'll be a faithful remaster with no additions.
Hello, first of all great video, your love and affection for the suikoden saga is evident. I am from Argentina and I wanted to answer your question about the difference between Latin American Spanish and Spanish, the big difference is the way we express ourselves, the Spanish say "coger" and we say "tomar" when we talk about having something, or they say "liar" (getting into trouble) (which in English would be liar to someone who doesn't tell the truth) for us (argentinian) to "liar" we use "meterse en problemas" Basically they would say "la has liado", we say "te has metido en problemas", there are several differences, subtle but they exist, as an Argentinian I appreciate the use of Latin American Spanish. Finally, I wanted to say that I played Suikoden 2 for the first time when I was 13 years old and I really enjoyed it and replayed it several times as an adult. I am looking forward to this remaster on PS5. Greetings
Hey. Thank you for the kind words and for the detailed description of the differences! Glad you're looking forward to the remaster. It's going to be awesome!
My Wishlist includes a lot of Quality of Life changes. 1) Inventory management simplified across both games (I think 2 had it better). 2) Key Items menu in the first game (no risk of losing the Blinking Mirror). 3) Infinite warehouse storage in Suikoden II, as in the first game. 4) Up to three rune slots for characters in the first game. 5) In the first game, let Olan actually dish out the gossip, similar to Richmond's investigations. 6) Recruit Tessai (the blacksmith) much earlier in Suikoden 2 (he's one of the LAST recruits normally). 7) Customizable New Game+ (Keep inventory, characters recruited, levels, bits/potch, collectibles such as old books or sound/window sets, etc... in any combination). 8) Expanded rune options in the first game (Blue/Pale Gate Rune comes to mind). 9) Get rid of unremovable equipment (Luc in the first game being stuck with a guard robe the entire time). As for achievements, I think some really out there ones that'd prove annoying would be getting ALL of Richmond's investigations (which, depending on character death could be impossible if a character dies before all the investigations for them are completed), collecting every rune (which would probably require New Game+ with runes kept), and perhaps a few hidden events, such as taking Meg to Lenankamp to see her parents at the end of the first game, or bringing Clive to the graves at Rockland, for those little scenes to unfold. Recruiting Anita with Valeria in your party, or Lorelai with Killey, would be nice too, a smattering of achievements that let players know about these obscure interactions when they might otherwise never learn of them.
1) Suikoden 2 inventory management is already well simplified. 4) Unfortunately, it's already confirmed that Suikoden 1 characters can still bear only 1 rune in the remaster. Totally agree with everything else.
Suikoden 1 and 2 were relatively easy enough already, from looking at playthroughs. But I still hope they fixed the Mother Earth rune bug from 1 among other issues. I'd love to challenge myself by mixing up my parties and using every unit to the best of their ability, whether they are "good" or "bad".
They were quite easy games. Suikoden has never been a challenging series and has always put more of a focus on the narrative. The Mother Earth Rune from Suikoden 1 definitely needs to be fixed.
I would like an option or improvement on the clive quest whether by turning off the time limit or doing a save limit where if you save 5 times or more the quest fails or they could do a time limit reset where you complete one quest and the time resets and try another.
Yeah I was going to say, the code for the secret dungeon in Sajah and new game was still in the original code, accessable with gameshark in three different sections. Would make sense if they completed it and added it, but it is Konami.
That'd be a cool little unlock, if a little lore breaking. People are going to cheat him in anyway just like they did with gameshark codes back in the day and when emulating.
@@CulganValya I think so. I’m a pure console gamer so no cheating for me 😭. I always liked the offensive nature of the Black Sword Rune. It’s why I always utilized the “Matilda Glitch” (which I don’t expect them to keep in the game) so that when you get the runes, Jowy just decimates. Otherwise, you really only have that staged battle against Gorudo to see it on display, and it just feels like it’d be cool to unlock for full playthrough if/when you 100% the game.
What I'm more curious about is the inclusion of the two Suikogaiden soundtracks in the upcoming Suikoden I+II Remaster OST set. Is this a sign that we may finally see localized versions of the two unreleased Suikogaiden games? Maybe as future DLCs? Why would Konami bother to include these soundtracks in the box set, if they weren't part of the I+II remaster project?
We can dream. I would love to see them included, but I'd be surprised if it happened. The Suikogaiden soundtracks are only being included with the soundtrack boxset in Japan, but not with the western boxset. Seems like we won't be getting it. Or if it does happen, it might only be included in the Japanese release of the game. I hope I'm wrong and they do get included, as they've got great stories and it'd introduce a whole bunch of people to stories they never got to experience. Or they may be saving it for a potential Suikogaiden Vol 1 & 2 + Suikoden III HD Remaster package if the Suikoden I&II HD Remaster sells really well.
A higher difficulty is a very popular request. I hope they listen and include it. Would be cool to see extra new content like you mentioned too, probably won't happen, but it'd be cool.
Hard mode is a much requested feature. I really hope they add it. The demo would be a great way for them to build up some hype a month before release, whet everyone's appetites and get some extra hype and pre-orders going.
As much as I would love the fact, that the original games would be included, I highly doubt that. Those images from Amazon and co. were just references to old vs new graphics. Maybe to avoid confusion they took them down. The FF Pixel Remasters didn't include the old games either, so why should Konami bother? Also, it's Konami we're talking about. A company, who has abandoned most of their beloved, fan favorite series for years and now they seem to have a grand comeback with new stuff from Castlevania, Silent Hill, Metal Gear and Suikoden. Maybe they learned their lessons. What I would love to see is like a 90s filter, which Blooper Team did for the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake, which is a nice flashback to the nostalgic days. For Suikoden I would love to see maybe some kind of 90s filter, or the choice between new and old character portraits or UI. Maybe adding the old font or menu would makes fans happy, which aren't a fan of this new UI engine. Anyways, I'm happy that this beloved series is back and I desperately hope, that Konami will keep the series alive from now on (which the series producer already stated they will), so that we will see future remaster projects for III, IV, and V. Maybe even the handheld titles Tierkreis and the JP exclusive one (forgot the name lol)
That's what I suspect too. Likely to show off the differences between the originals and the HD Remaster of the game. But the TGS demo showed the originals as playable, albeit from a debug menu, so it's not an impossibility. I'd love to see III, IV and V get remastered too! Fingers crossed the I & II Remaster sells well!
already the double speed on the psp remaster version helped me to get the colour intro in like 20 minutes instead of an hour... and now even faster, this will be amazing.
Maybe someone is familiar. So, on suikoden one, there's an upstairs room that is locked away that I've only been able to access on one playthrough. It is the small town adjoining to whatever that magical forest is that you can only pass through with an elf in between the small village and Kobald town. My names might be incorrect. I mean, they are but anyone who's played gets the gist. Anyhow. So Vicky transports you improperly and you end up in the upstairs and there's chests up there that I do not remember what are in but I've only experienced this once. I remember when I had done this, I would do a lot of foot travel and not fast travel and I was grinding unnecessarily, cuz I think there was a battle that I could have went to or something. I remember Vicky said, "oops something went wrong". She did not say her typical line and I was transported there. If anyone is aware, please let me know🎉 Shalom! All praises to Yeshua and Yahweh.
The 2nd floor of the item shop in the Forest Village is inaccessible. You're confusing it with the 2nd floor of the item shop in Radat Town in Suikoden 2 that Viki can accidentally teleport you to which has 3 chests.
frankly as a fan of the series as a whole including the manga i wish they acknowledge the character that are in genso suikoden like main character that was the guard in the camp that let them into the food reserve in suikoden 2 was actually a character in suikoden 3 and it would be funny to have the guard name or his thought included in a bubles to laugh a bit.
i think the one thing i'd wish for but its not something that will be done given this is a remaster and not a remake, but i wish some characters in suikoden 1 and 2 got more story to them. for instance Quincy in suikoden literally has like no story you go to him at a certain level, he joins and thats it, we have no clue why hes standing at that bridge, where hes from, or what his personality is like. there are a couple of characters that are kinda like that through suikoden 1 and 2 and idk i'd like a little more with them but again its a remaster not a remake so its something i'd want but not something that will happen.
I know exactly what you mean. A lot of characters have absolutely no story to them whatsoever. McDohl: 'Hi. Join us. Them: 'Sure, why not' And then that's basically the end of their involvement in the game. One thing I loved about Eiyuden is that they gave all of the characters a line or two of dialogue in each of the story events. That really fleshed out the characters and let their personalities shine. It helped the player form attachments to characters.
That's a good idea. Most people either missed out on the krakens either because they didn't know about them, or because if you recruit them, you can't get the 108 stars. Giving us two extra crystals to recruit them all would be awesome. Problem is Abizboah counts as a star of destiny, while Rulodia and Chuchara don't. They'd have to remove Abizboah as a SoD for them to give us extra listening crystals.
I try my best to avoid spoiler talk, or at least to very clearly label any upcoming story talk to give people a chance to not have the experience ruined.
I'd love to see the post-game extra dungeon and NG+ features that were scrapped but still remain in the code for S2 finished and implemented, but that is probably a huge ask. All I really want is for this version to have care and love put into faithfully remastering the games. If they want to put in little easter eggs wrt bugs from the originals I think that'd be cute - like pushing the door off the matilda gate. AFAIK they have confirmed that the saturn version content will not be in the remake, but who knows. Maybe they'll push out updates later on. It's Konami tho so let's just say I'm doubtful about their charitable spirit.
I have a possibly silly question: Are they retranslating/relocalizing the English scripts for either game? I didn't see that listed in the store description anywhere.
They are indeed. That was one of the things they announced way back in 2022. The game will be receiving a reworked translation. They didn't elaborate, so I'm not sure if it will just be minor changes to clean it up and fix the errors and mistakes or if it will be a total overhaul. We'll likely find out more about that closer to release when they reveal more footage and details.
@@KingBuilder525I think it just needs some minor tweaks to clean it up and fix the mistakes and I suspect that's what they'll do, but we'll probably see more at Tokyo Game Show.
@@KingBuilder525I've been watching Lucahjin's playthroughs of the first 2 games, and there were many cases of spelling errors, lines being told by the wrong person in a scene, the usage of third person vs first person, etc. it's rough around the edges but still understandable. If anything is gonna be re-localized, I imagine silly things like Matthiu's infamous "See the power of the science!" are gonna be affected to make more sense and line up better with the voice-acting they're gonna include. And another example: the seduction scene at Swallow Pass was HEAVILY implied without conveying it through dialogue, so I wouldn't worry too much about tonal changes.
Release these games on smartphone! They are small enough that they could run without issue. Just look at all the Final Fantasy games on IOS and Android! Also, add some post game or secret content Add some references to Suikoden 4 and 5, which are cronologically before Suikoden 1!
Suikoden 1 and 2 were actually released for mobile phones in Japan in 2008 and 2009. They could definitely release the originals on phones if they wanted to. Post game content would be the secret dungeon that was unfinished and cut from the original release. It would be cool to see that get finished and implemented. Probably won't happen, but would be cool if it did. Some references to 5 already exist in 2 through Richmonds investigations. But more references to link the games and the stories are always welcome!
I completely agree. The Clive timer is awful. People who play rpg's generally want to pace themselves and become immersed in the world and the story. Having to rush through it in a panic ruins the experience of the game. It's definitely a nuisance having to travel to and from Gregminster by foot every time you want to add McDohl to your party. I wonder if they could maybe add Gregminster as a teleport option at Viki.
Im so happy that they are not died T.T i legitly think that this was going to get abandoned by konami, they just radio silenced for almost 3 years. Now i have hope again. as for my wishlist: make the kraken family (rulodia & chuchara as SOD)
Agreed on the krakens! It always sucked that Rulodia doesn't count as a SoD and recruiting her means no perfect ending. I really hope they change that.
I believe they mentioned back in 2022 that they worked on removing the character restriction that dialogue boxes had in the western release of the originals, so the remasters will be much closer to the Japanese versions this time around.
it might sound petty but that Rune Artwork from Suikoden 2 is what made me gave up playing eiyuden chronicles. Runes are one of the most important aspect of the game and it only shows as a shiny bead on Eiyuden Chronicles. Felt like I am playing a half baked game. It really feels incomplete compared to Suikoden 1 and 2. It is engraved in my heart and soul.
Eiyuden Chronicle did lack a lot of the charm the Suikoden games had. It scratched some of the Suikoden itch, but it just wasn't quite the same experience and didn't leave the same lasting impression.
Do you mean the Matilda glitch in Suikoden 2 to recruit Humphrey and Futch early? We don't know what glitches will or won't be fixed yet. But if the remaster is based off of the PSP ports of Suikoden 1 and 2, then the Matilda glitch will likely be fixed.
@@CulganValya ahhh . Yes . “Matilda” glitch . But thank you kindly for your answer ! And that’s alright . Love the game ! Beat 1-5 100 times and been waiting forever for the news .
I would love end game dungeon for Suikoden 2. This game is perfect except one thing. S2 has no endgame, strongest enemy is final boss and that is it. For a game with so many possible team compositions and good battle system, there is nothing to try out all thay end game gear and runes.
Agreed. Some kind of end game dungeon, or perhaps even an Endless Mode or something, similar to the Hero Mode Dungeon that was in Eiyuden Chronicle. I spent a nice chunk of time in that dungeon and it allowed me to experiment with and test out a lot of characters that I didn't normally use.
excuse me, but I am german and I didnt quite understand 😀 WHERE can I preorder the special collection of the remaster? I dont see a link or hear it out of the video, I am sorry. Hope you can help me!
Limited edition versions of the game are Japan only. Konami haven't said anything about the west getting a limited or collectors addition. I don't know if they ship outside of Japan, but here's the link. You might need to use a dropshipping company to buy from them. www.chara-ani.com/details.aspx?prdid=B24803953
i hope some modders could mod the characters 3d models. something like the ninostyle chibi mod in ff7. or at the very least make a mod to upscale the character models too. i enjoyed replaying it before with upscaling using duckstation.
I think you're definitely in the minority on that one. Most of us love the pixel art the characters have. Making them 3d or chibi models would ruin them. I'd hate everything about that mod.
Make the battles in Suikoden II end with either side armies destroyed or annihilated. Not scripted. Its boring when its scripted. Add some new features and events
The reason for some of them being scripted is because they existed only to advance the story, altering the scripted battles would require altering parts of the story. That won't happen.
A short chapter being able to play through the story from his perspective would be cool. Similar to how they done the antagonists chapter in Suikoden 3.
I don't really care about autobattle honestly, but a 'save anywhere' feature would be better than just autosave. And yes, BRING BACK THE CUT CONTENT!!!!!!! Oh, sound test.... I'd like a sound test. NEW GAME PLUS WOULD BE AMAZING!!!!!!
A save anywhere function would be great. The mobile phone ports of Suikoden 1 and 2 that Japan got in 2008 and 2009 actually included a save anywhere function. New game + is a big requested feature, so I hope they listen to fans and include it.
You need to show what you're talking about. When you compare character portraits you need to show them, etc. - only if you want your channel to grow. Otherwise, keep up the good work, as I enjoyed your opinions!
Thanks for the suggestion! It didn't occur to me to put in the old portraits as most people watching my videos are long time fans of the series. But you're right, I should've done so for people who are new to the series.
@@CulganValya yeah, always to try to go the extra mile audio visually. Even old-school veterans love old to new comparisons. Expand this to other topics to make it not only a podcast experience in the kitchen but also interesting to watch.
@@DezorianGuy I really appreciate the feedback! I'm still incredibly new to this and I'm learning as I go. Thanks for the suggestions and the advice. It really helps!
The devs should just fix the head sptites of the archers that lean on the left side and the foot sprites that slightly off. They should not be lazy about this, because some fans notice this in Suikoden 1 including me 😁.
i hope they implement the convoy system in suikoden 1. having flik and victor as set characters for the last dungeon is the thing i hated most about suikoden 1. it limits your free choice of short range characters to 1 which destroys the whole idea of choosing your favorite party.😢 😢
The original versions of the games are poorly translated. They're filled with mistranslations, factual inaccuracies, errors, grammatical mistakes, as well as having missing dialogue due to character restraints in the dialogue box.
With Taking this long to release i hope they have some extra content these games have been done dirty over the years by konami my fav rpgs of all time 1+2
I wouldn't expect any new or extra content, but it would be nice. Updated versions of the originals with a bunch of added QoL changes is what it will likely be.
I hope the lvl99 glitch is fixed. As I never used the level 99 characters. Not only were they OP, with no level progression they feel "done" so to speak. And I am very glad they redrew the Suikoden 1 portraits, as they always looked really rough to me. I also completely forgot about the character of Boris, I've just never been able to bring myself to recruiting him.
I think leaving the glitches in is fine. If one is aware, avoid them. If they remove that, they remove all the other glitches people remember as part of the experience. There will likely be enough added options to make the game "accessible/easy".
@@blumiu2426 I hope they keep the Matilda gate glitch for posterity... but the lvl99 glitch really sucked IMO and made certain characters unusable for me. And since two of them were Pesmerga and Georg Prime, that really sucks. Having them be noticeably higher levels than your party/the stage of the game you're in is neat, having them be literally max level, is not.
I totally get where you're coming from with the level 99 glitch. Whenever that happened I tried not to use them. Part of the fun was levelling them up myself and watching them get stronger. As you said, they felt done, like there's no reason to put them in your party. Boris I've only gotten once, and even though I really like his character. I felt bad for the rest of the game because I willingly let Ridley die. I just can't bring myself to recruit him anymore.
I sooo want a harder difficulty! The Games are just way to easy. I like to train and level my group, sharpen the weapons and expermiment with all the different runes. But in the original there is just no point in doing that, because the difficulty is just to easy. 😞 I hope they add the option to choose a difficulty (easy/normal/hard), but I dont think this will happen..
Hard mode appears to be a highly requested feature. It's something a lot of people seem to be interested in. I hope they do add it for people that want an extra challenge.
Good vid brother, I really doubt theyll do a lvl 99 achievement unless they rebalance exp drops at the higher levels. I wonder if they are crazy enough to do an all cooking recipes achievement lmao
I doubt it too, it'd be a ball breaker of an achievement for sure. A recipe achievement maybe not, at least not unless they've managed to fix the recipe bug, but I definitely expect one for completing the cooking minigame itself.
Is the Saturn content actually good, or is the assumption here that 'more content = better game'? The pirate kidnappings look interesting, but I'm not impressed with the rest of it. The fact that Murayama's team apparently wasn't involved in the Saturn ports isn't a plus either.
Depends on your perspective. Most people agree that the pirate kidnapping scene was fun and gave a bit of extra involvement for characters. The other scene that I won't go into detail on was interesting, though nothing special. The battleground / arena with Eikei was fun, and the items like the Darkness Rune and Silver Armour rewards were actually recommended by Murayama as he planned to include them in Suikoden 2. The minigames are a mixed bag, some people like them, some people dislike them. Marco's cup game was replaced by a game of heads or tails which I liked, but wasn't as fun as the original minigame. Gaspars Chinchirorin dice game was replaced by a guess the sum of the dice game which I didn't like, and Georges card game was replaced with Blackjack which was fun. So really just depends on your perspective. If they get added, I certainly don't want them added in place of the original minigames, but I'd rather they get added alongside the original minigames.
I would like characters to be remade as well, it looks weird when the backgrounds are beautiful, sharp and modern, and the characters are old and pixel art. It don't looks good
Regarding Spanish, think of the difference between American English and British English. Not a huge thing, in the end, but there are different expressions, regional accents and stylistic preferences.
fix the bug on import that my biggest dream in suikoden like item for main character ( example ) teo shoe I can't witch item you suposs to get that big fat spolier but in og that the bug hope they fix it
If you're talking about the save file import bug in Suikoden 2, that bug only existed in the North American version of the game. It was fixed in the European release. It should be safe to say that bug won't be a problem in the remaster.
There are many things I dislike about Eiyuden Chronicle, but a good feature is a good feature. Don't dismiss every aspect of a game because you disliked the game as a whole.
All i'm asking is to please for the love of all things holy don't botch the script or any unnecessary changes. The games are timeless masterpieces and id rather not see their scripts get butchered with modern slang or memey dialogs like we've been seeing in other titles.
The game will be receiving an updated translation to bring it closer in line with the Japanese version, as the original games on the ps1 were poorly translated, filled with errors and had many missing lines due to character restraints and limits in the western release.
Finally, he shows his true colors in his portrait. Something I really hate from him is precisely that, he likes to pretend to be. nice guy, when he isn't.
19:55 Him: Let's talk about achievements... 21:37 Also Him: I don't care about achievements and never did!! moving on..... Me: Huumm....then why did you wasted my time?? talking about this for 3 mins if you don't even care!! hello?!
Because as I very clearly said in the video. While I personally don't care about achievements, a lot of people do care about achievements. And because it's something many people do care about, it's worth discussing despite my personal thoughts on them. Whether I like a feature or not is irrelevant, it's still a feature in the game and worthy of discussion just as equally as any other feature that I am interested in. Talking about a feature that many people like doesn't in any way "waste" your time just because I personally dislike that feature.
I can see Konami avoiding a translation for the Suikoden Gaiden games. At the same time, I'd only trust the fan translations anyway. If smart, they'd just pull those.
I can see them avoiding it too. They may not see it as worthwhile to translate for the west. But at the same time, if the Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster sells well, I could possibly see them doing a Suikoden 3 remaster with the Suikogaidens included.
I know Japan's economy is having a time, but c'mon lol! Cheaper and you get more. Then again, maybe it is deserved with Konami handing out their IP to the west and getting...not the best results. A small consolation. JRPGs are safe, unless it's under Square-Enix. I wish PCs had physicals still as I don't want to buy a PS5 and need to get a Switch at some point.
Works out about $12 cheaper for the Japanese 9 CD set. Their economy is in the dump right now, and the Yen has lost a third of its value, so you can forgive the cheaper price. But getting 2 extra soundtracks stings. It's one thing not to translate the games and give them to us, but to not even let us get the soundtracks is a strange decision.
Latin American Spanish is the "commoner's tongue" sort of speak, while the Spanish is what the higher born used. So Mexican is less eloquent compare to what is spoken in Spain.

Nothing is permanent, whether in love, friendship, or politics, as beautifully illustrated in both games.
I wish they would add instant level 99 and potch because lots of us here are all about replaying the game like re-reading a novel.
I think instead of an instant level 99 and potch cheat/feature, they could introduce a New Game + and let us carry over levels, potch, equipment, etc. Might go down better with more fans.
Its gonna be so nice not having to bust my ps3 out to play the hard copies!
Agreed! Though my physical copies have been nice and snug on my shelf, and for the last 10 years I've been emulating them instead of playing my physical versions.
My wishlist includes :-) (which is more for a REMAKE LOL)
Suikoden 1:
- 3 Rune slots for playable characters
- Joshua is playable with his Dragon Rune being usable
- Random characters/races like Wingers from Jowston makes a cameo/appearance (for continuity)
- Showing the short alliance between Liberation Army and Tinto-South Window Forces
Suikoden 2:
- A Prologue showing the events after the Gate Rune Wars where Toran recaptures the territory lost to Tinto and South Window
- Badlands can be explored
- Moon Rune is usable via Sierra
- Luc’s True Wind Rune is usable
- Rune of the Beginning is usable
@@JeannieLove Thank you for the explanation. That's along the lines what I was thinking, I just wasn't sure.
DLC DLC DLC!!!!
Clive and Elza DLC
Pesmerga DLC
George Prime DLC
Lucia DLC
Creating some bridges between the second and third games would be amazing!
@@CulganValya would be fun of those were made into playable games 🤔
@@uggabugg The Suikogaidens have English fan translation patches. They're playable if you can find the roms.
Unless you mean if they were turned into an rpg since a lot of people don't like or won't play visual novels.
It's Konami so.... i can't wait for the pachinko machines DLC!!!
I would love to see some added secrets & story that we haven't seen or expected before.
Nostalgia, gosh the music😢😢
New Game Plus Dungeon. Also Gold trophy for Clive's Quest completion.
I agree with these 💯
The three rune slots always blew my mind in Suikoden II - so useful, so much more character customization!
Those are all excellent requests. 100% agree with all of them
Difficulty modes options! I would LOVE to play Suikoden at Hard Mode! If leaks were true 3 difficulty modes are going to be selectible. So much hype.
1) Suikoden 2 inventory management is already well simplified.
4) Unfortunately, it's already confirmed that Suikoden 1 characters can still bear only 1 rune in the remaster.
Totally agree with everything else.
@@Kris95x. This one would be a wish come true, but I doubt it, otherwise they would have mentioned it with the new features.
I hope they will bring an entire Krin backstory to the new game.
We need a Krin spin-off game.
Silly change i want: kage, pahn, cleo, etc to all have portraits with their cameo scenes in suikoden 2
I get that. It's something quite a few people over the years always wondered. It'd be a nice addition.
The extra scenario with hard difficulty that they talked before, Táctica ogre time traveling feature
I think many people like like that time limit disabled, or at least increased. It's a quest many have never completed.
More than fair request about unfinished dungeons and Sega Saturn content
It probably won't happen, as I doubt they'll be adding any additional content. But it doesn't hurt to hope!
Yeah I was going to say, the code for the secret dungeon in Sajah and new game was still in the original code, accessable with gameshark in three different sections. Would make sense if they completed it and added it, but it is Konami.
It'd be nice if they completed it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't expect it to happen.
My wishlist is one thing, I want to unlock Jowy for a new game+ in S2 if you achieve the perfect ending.
I’d really like to see a higher difficulty setting, some new runes, and some new enemy types/hidden bosses in the over-world.
A higher difficulty is a very popular request. I hope they listen and include it. Would be cool to see extra new content like you mentioned too, probably won't happen, but it'd be cool.
Hope for all the cut content to be added indeed!
I would love to see a hardcore and insanity mode. Would be amazing for replaying.
Absolutely. Some people find the games too easy, and a hard mode would add a lot of extra replayability.
A Easy, Normal and Hard mode were selectible as well in the demo back then, I'm REALLY excited for it, I hope they didn't cut it!
Hard mode is a much requested feature. I really hope they add it. The demo would be a great way for them to build up some hype a month before release, whet everyone's appetites and get some extra hype and pre-orders going.
I'm going to be pissed if there isn't an achievement in each game for choosing Schtotleheim Reinbach IV and Schtotleheim Reinbach V as your alias.
Damn, that's a good one. I didn't even think of that. it'd certainly make for a funny achievement.
Can't wait!
Me neither! 6 long months ahead of us.
New Auto-Battle and battle speed will make that 108 Battles for the color opening in Suikoden 2 way less of a grind. I approve.
It really will. Most people didn't have the patience to do that fight 108 times. These new features will be a god send.
already the double speed on the psp remaster version helped me to get the colour intro in like 20 minutes instead of an hour... and now even faster, this will be amazing.
When modders sneak peek the game later, it will unlocked many things! I kinda sure about that. 😁
Some remade or remastered games have the option in game at any time to change to original or new. Thats probably what theyll do.
I hope so. It'd be a really nice inclusion if they did. We may find out more at Tokyo Game Show in 2 weeks time.
frankly as a fan of the series as a whole including the manga i wish they acknowledge the character that are in genso suikoden like main character that was the guard in the camp that let them into the food reserve in suikoden 2 was actually a character in suikoden 3 and it would be funny to have the guard name or his thought included in a bubles to laugh a bit.
I hope they fix the recipe bug in S2. I wanna have all the good food!
@@Triwaan An interview the developers had with Famitsu around TGS confirmed the recipe bug is fixed.
i think the one thing i'd wish for but its not something that will be done given this is a remaster and not a remake, but i wish some characters in suikoden 1 and 2 got more story to them. for instance Quincy in suikoden literally has like no story you go to him at a certain level, he joins and thats it, we have no clue why hes standing at that bridge, where hes from, or what his personality is like. there are a couple of characters that are kinda like that through suikoden 1 and 2 and idk i'd like a little more with them but again its a remaster not a remake so its something i'd want but not something that will happen.
I know exactly what you mean. A lot of characters have absolutely no story to them whatsoever.
McDohl: 'Hi. Join us.
Them: 'Sure, why not'
And then that's basically the end of their involvement in the game.
One thing I loved about Eiyuden is that they gave all of the characters a line or two of dialogue in each of the story events. That really fleshed out the characters and let their personalities shine. It helped the player form attachments to characters.
I'd just like to have 4 Listening Crystals so I can just recruit everyone in 2.
I like how u don't spoil the extra scenes from saturn
I hope they add more dificulty to choose more ☝️
That's a highly requested feature from what I can see. Hopefully they add a hard mode!
All I want
Suikoden I, in Forest Villiage, finally let me up those damn stairs!!!
Wow!
Technically, they could do a star ocean 2 remake portrait change
They could do that. They might.
I hope there's difficulty setting, the originals were way too easy.
A very popular requested feature. Fingers crossed they listen to the requests.
@@CulganValya A total overhaul of the dialog? I shudder at the thought
@@CulganValya Ah, dunno how I Missed this - thank you! I'm glad they're gonna be fixing stuff at the very least!
I hope that they will remaster the rest as I only played Suikoden 5
If the 1 & 2 HD Remaster sells well, I fully expect them to do remasters of the other games in the series.
Release these games on smartphone! They are small enough that they could run without issue.
Just look at all the Final Fantasy games on IOS and Android!
Also, add some post game or secret content
Add some references to Suikoden 4 and 5, which are cronologically before Suikoden 1!
@@CulganValya wow! Are the Suikoden games still available for smartphone in japan?
@@matinazadeh6870 Unfortunately not. They were only available through Konami's Konami Net DX service which was taken offline in 2016.
Hopefully they add in any cut content
A lot of people are hoping for that, but don't expect it to happen.
There should be a feature where u can find the 108 stars more easily
remove clive timer and make mcdohl easily accesable no need to go to town to put him in party.
Maybe instead have the timer be slightly more lenient. Suikoden II was easy enough as is I'd still like some challenge.
I wonder if the 2x/4x battle speed would affect the in game timer for the Clive quest?
@@Patenhire Good question. I'd be very surprised if it did.
I really hope they change that.
i know they cut lots of the dialogue in the original games hope they restore some of the loss dialogues.
Do you know if the “Humphrey glitch” is accessible in the remaster ??
I spent a nice chunk of time in that dungeon and it allowed me to experiment with and test out a lot of characters that I didn't normally use.
excuse me, but I am german and I didnt quite understand 😀
WHERE can I preorder the special collection of the remaster?
I dont see a link or hear it out of the video, I am sorry.
Hope you can help me!
Limited edition versions of the game are Japan only. Konami haven't said anything about the west getting a limited or collectors addition.
I don't know if they ship outside of Japan, but here's the link. You might need to use a dropshipping company to buy from them. www.chara-ani.com/details.aspx?prdid=B24803953
Indeed, change your profile
My cursed profile picture shall remain!
i hope some modders could mod the characters 3d models. something like the ninostyle chibi mod in ff7. or at the very least make a mod to upscale the character models too. i enjoyed replaying it before with upscaling using duckstation.
I hope there's a 110 Star of destiny. Black sword version
A short chapter being able to play through the story from his perspective would be cool. Similar to how they done the antagonists chapter in Suikoden 3.
I would want a hard mode but I doubt it will be there
Hard mode would be a welcome feature for sure!
3 selctible modes are rumored to be there!
I just hope they don't patch out the Matilda glitch....
@@paine_inflicta That was fixed in the PSP ports of Suikoden I & II, so it'll very likely be fixed in the remaster.
New game plus
Definitely! I'd love to see a New Game + feature.
@@CulganValya that's the spirit!
A convoy system would be wonderful. As much as we all love Viktor and Flik, it gets boring being forced to use them every time. It's very restricting.
Fixing localization? New dialogue to fix the text?
Lv. 99 glitch? Never thought that it existed. All I know is the Mathilda gate glitch in Suikoden 2.
@@CulganValya. How does that glitch trigger?
It never happened to me.
I sooo want a harder difficulty!
The Games are just way to easy. I like to train and level my group, sharpen the weapons and expermiment with all the different runes. But in the original there is just no point in doing that, because the difficulty is just to easy. 😞
I hope they add the option to choose a difficulty (easy/normal/hard), but I dont think this will happen..
If they get added, I certainly don't want them added in place of the original minigames, but I'd rather they get added alongside the original minigames.
after Hd remaster 1 and 2 i think Suikoden 6 will happen
I hope so! But I suspect they may play it safe and remaster the other mainline games first.
Ahhh, that's kind of what I was thinking. Thanks for letting me know.
I can't get on board with "sweekoden" as a pronunciation. I have been calling it SooKoden since I was 10 and that's how it will remain.
When I was a kid, myself and a friend used to call it Shoe-Ko-Den. I don't even know where we got that pronunciation from.
fix the bug on import that my biggest dream in suikoden like item for main character ( example ) teo shoe I can't witch item you suposs to get that big fat spolier but in og that the bug hope they fix it
If you're talking about the save file import bug in Suikoden 2, that bug only existed in the North American version of the game. It was fixed in the European release. It should be safe to say that bug won't be a problem in the remaster.
Never, EVER suggest this game should follow ANYthing Eiyuden Chronicle did. EVER.
There are many things I dislike about Eiyuden Chronicle, but a good feature is a good feature. Don't dismiss every aspect of a game because you disliked the game as a whole.
Nah Fvck Konami. Why just now? Again, only Remastered just like what they did in MGS.
Would looking forward for more Eiyuden than Suikoden now
Bak-el
takehiro sakeyama LMAO
They should have added an hq option for battle sprites. Those pixels look like potato big and ugly.
I love the original sprites. I think they're perfect as they are.
Jowy new portrait its so ugly, he looks like a bad guy now
I mean he is 😂
Finally, he shows his true colors in his portrait.
Something I really hate from him is precisely that, he likes to pretend to be. nice guy, when he isn't.
janko kowano lmao
only thing they better not do is tone down Luca Blight. If they do they ruined it
100% agree. If they tone him down in any way they'll completely ruin his character,
19:55 Him: Let's talk about achievements...
Thanks for letting me know!
