the damage on most of these are weaker then if they each individually mashed the generic attack command mindlessly. its just eye candy and nothing else for alot of them.
It's mostly just that from a tactical perspective, they're almost always weaker than each of the characters just acting independently? Like if the damage output of the combo exceeded what the involved characters could do on their own turns I think people would love them, but as it stands their effects at just too weak to justify ever using them except a couple in very narrow use cases.
Yeah, they need to adjust it; either decrease the SP cost or increase the damage amplifier so that it becomes more useful. The Hero Combo has a lot of similarly damaging scaling to Suikoden's Unite Attack, but Unite Attack doesn't use SP
From what i can tell it seems to be a bug / unintended. The Combos, after adding the damage together, divides it by number of participants, so you end up with worse damage, ESPECIALLY on the ones that only target one enemy.
Honestly feel it was a missed opportunity to have a Nowa, Lian, and Perrielle combo where it's just the two of them doing the girls combo on him and he hits the enemy with powerful attack afterwards.

The only combo I used: Francesca and Falward My complaint: Fran said "Light" while Falward said "Darkness" while their elements are the opposite of it. It bugs me so much!

More or less, the amount of SP to use this is quite high especially with how little damage they do in comparison to normal skills. The only time I think it's worth it is if you have a character with no skills. Also for the 0 damage, I'm pretty sure that's due to the enemies casting a buff/ they had taken enough damage to be killed or something. This was recorded in the abandoned mines so all enemies were super low level.
After 68 hours run around playing this game, i found that COMBO ATTACK is a not "worth it attack" except the AoE or healing combo...especially those 6 character combo "eiyuuden"...
honestly the combos are freaking amazing but it's too long to use it as u wait for the SP on all character, also the damage is not that great (sometimes it's just better for each char to use their own skill for maximum damage) but then again you might as well enjoy the gameplay to the fullest!!
Garr only having 2 and him doing the same thing in both bothers me. Could have easily had an all beastkin combo or even apassing the torch combo with nowa
HE'S 14?! He comes off WAY older than that... like he always sounds so world-weary and tired of everyone's shit. I would've placed him in his early 30s, maybe mid-late 20s minimum.
Real shame only a handful of them are actually worth using, typically the ones the cause secondary non damage effects. Far too often its better, sometimes significantly better to simply attack alone with each character.
About that for games that have TOO many party members Barely 10 of them don't SUCK even out of Chrono Crosses 45 total party members I still find all but 10 of them to be pure CRAP.
On Steam there was a lot of review bombing regarding the localisation because people were complaining that it wasn't a one-to-one translation as the localisiers took too many liberties.
unfortunately the english localizer was woke and you know USA everything is political, it was annoying and cringe at first when i started playing but it's not to the point that it's unbearable that you will not have fun. it's still super fun. i rate the game 8.5/10 despite having issues.
@@grimshock6983 Apparently it started with a dialogue that change "But where did this giant thing came from?" (after a boss fight) to "Are you sure it's a male?". Then I don't know if this one is related or not, but I saw another dialogue that got changed, where 2 characters said toward 1 female character that she is an idiot (which she actually is), and it changed into something different to remove the "idiot" part. Since I understand some japanese, I didn't bother reading the rest.
whoever creates first this genre will be called creative. if eiyuden released before suikoden, suikoden will be inspired to eiyuden. example we saw goku first ssj and now all ssj characters are not unique or creative because we saw goku first.
im kinda dissapointed in some combos, its just more fun to watch the suikoden unite series, and the runes are so common, no runes that gives a massive animation just like summoning a ship and bombart the enemy like in suikoden 2, and the lightning wrath animation from suikoden 2 is more intense
The six man combo is so NOT worth it. All of these combos are merely eye candy. Compared to Suikoden 2, the combos are worth using until the end. The only combo here that's 100% worth it is light and darkness combo for the heals.
@@animeindofunny9725 For damage there are 2 choices: 1) the fact that it doesn't add up visually for some, even when they chain the shots 2) the levels of the characters, in the videos some are probably low level. Otherwise, given the number, the animation doesn't follow too much, most of it is just their powerful attack that they do one after the other.
@@faiziqbal5199 it’s been going around on Reddit apparently the formula is bugged out and halves the damage or something the more people the combo has. As an example nowa and seigns hero combo should do like 0.6 in the damage formula but the bugs causing it to half to 0.3. Sorry my explanations kinda wonky 😭
I was wondering who the green haired magical gear was. So the blonde uses cheap hair bleach and winds up with green hair, thats kinda funny. Shame combos are so laughably bad in this game. Except for francesca and falward. No MP full heal was quite nice, for general exploration and bosses.
I'm gonna say it these are bad animations like most of them are sp skills + sp skills of another character and nothing really special......it's sad and like i would rather have characters be unbalanced and unusable for 1 turn rather than wait 5 turns to fill up the sp gauge and use a hero combo once in a battle......

My game of the year. Brought me back to jrpg’s. Thanks to the creators. We really love this game. Hope they continue to make games like this
I am glad someone uploaded these they are cool, but the only ones i ever really used was the cheap aoe with seign and nowa when there was 6 enemies
Light and Darkness heal is fantastic, full party heal with a buff to offense 0 MP cost.
same that's the most useful thus far. low sp cost and a cheap way to dispatch normal enemies.
i hope they boost the crap out of the damage with these hero combos because theres just unfortunately no reason to do them.
it depends on the combo, the Francesca Falward one is amazing, a full party heal and offense buff for 0 mp cost really cannot be beat.
They'll fix the bug that divides the damage before it applies. Any day now...

The hero combos are currently bugged at the moment and aren’t working how they should. Hopefully they’ll patch it
