My Gosh, Split Enz on the tele in England! True Colours was the first Album I bought. Great to see/ hear a live performance/ recording of both these songs from the album. It was an interesting point where their vaudaville art-rock beginnings merged with beatlesque riffs and a jaunty new wave intensity. Through their lifespan, I wonder how many people were in the band?
Check out how Tim's fully in character on Nobody while his strapling brother can still only manage silly grins even performing one of the most powerful songs he ever wrote.
Awesome old grey whistle test footage. I enjoyed the detailed history from 1977 to the present! Epic!!!!
I've heard 2 songs by these guys and they were way beyond great 👍

Wikipedia says 17 all up, but I’d only count 11 of them as real members
I love this. I wish it was louder.
Tight😎👍
Awesome performance. This was when the jumped from the weird, artsy band to becoming the Squeeze of Australasia.
What an interesting take on the songs, Neil's voice still sounds impossibly high compared to later!
yet Tim is singing a higher harmony, staying out of the way!
hehe nah just trolling. this is great, thanks for sharing. split enz deserved more recognition in the UK than they received.

I did a search last night fro Split Enz on the OGWT, and I couldn't find them!
Thanks for posting this, been wanting to see it for years.
these guys were great , better than crowded house and tim was so into it .entertaining to watch and good musically too.
Ms Nightingale drunk again... lol - love this band.
I generally like Annie Nightingale, but her intro here is absolutely pathetic and way too long winded, I wish she was edited out of this video.
Worst presenter , great performance
