Everything in US is extremely expensive, if you don’t have insurance. 4000 sounds even reasonable after some experiences in hospitals and how much they charge you for simplest procedures
Thank you very much for the informative and specific example. I feel really motivated after watching the talk. I will apply the advice from the expert with my child.
Thank you for this information. I live in Melbourne Australia and wondering if your clinics have any connections here. I would love to seek a similar type of treatment but alas I do not live in the US
If possible get into family therapy (I know that’s not an option for everyone) Focus on what you can do as an adult. Start with a brief ( ten min) conversation letting them know you are concerned, ask what they think, and then start with some changes you can do yourself. Also control device time. Kids really do want connection with parents & to feel valued. School counselor have good knowledge of resources in local areas. Good luck, not easy but kids are worth it.
Try to build trust-spend quality time together, play a board game, sports, have fun, make them laugh often, be kind/thoughtful. Eliminate all the negative talk, accusations, drama. Kids/teens are prone to open up to someone they like and trust.
Always come at them with compassion. I know how hard it is.. parent of an 11 yr old high functioning ADHD/ASD gifted child who no one will play with as he wants to talk about Winston Churchill or the Russian revolution, rather than talk about Minecraft or football…. I find when he doesn’t want to talk…… sometimes he struggles to talk as he reads my face for a reaction, am I sad or angry etc… so we go to seperate rooms for big problems and text each other… letting them start… if they can’t, asking open ending questions and assuring them that this is a safe space to talk without judgement or ‘consequences’ etc… not having to face someone can be less confronting. Good luck… no matter what you’re doing , you’re doing your best you can, you’re doin* awesome! You’re an amazingly strong parent… x x x love and light to you
It's not easy one bit since age 9 have asked for help turned down / away from everyone no one ever listened to me , now aged 30 I get the blame , he always knows what to say to turn everyone away . No ine could have loved and cared more for their children its been heartbreaking I did my best !
Hmm, you have a curious approach to behavioural psychology, it's intriguing and you clearly have a lot of experience with the stories you tell. There's a lot more to you than I previously thought, I highlighted you in my brain as someone who wants to change the world of psychology with brain scans and the information feedback, but you combine all methods to make the best approach with your experience and knowledge.
I'd gladly pay _all_ of my money to see Dr Amen and have him scan my brain. But. That's not saying a lot since I currently have no money. 😂 Please give actual reasons behind your comment. I'm saving to see Amen. It's going to cost me _almost_ as much, however, I'm including travel and stay expenses from FL to CA for a month. More info please.
And your reasons are? Please explain. I have not seen Dr. Amen for my son. I have SPENT much more than what you said within our community over say 20 years. The outcome for my son was not good. Worst. What he says in this video is spot on. At least that has been our experience.
@@dennisharris850 We received NO HELP. The doc that was assigned to me came back from cancer surgery and he did not help us at all. I have a tbi. Don’t go
This was great!🎉🎉🎉 Im a therapist and I aproved this message for the mental health of our children.
It's easier to build strong children than it is to mend a broken adult
Thank you for EVERYTHING you do Dr Amen 🙏
Dr.Amen is incredible. 💙
Thank you for educating this mama ❤
If you really want to help. Please lower the cost of your services, the spec scan cost over $4,000 without insurance.

I wasted $10,000 here. Don’t !
May I ask what you wasted money on?
Why was it a waste? What was your experience?
