    Great job. Imagine you have to do this in your garage with a few jack-stands. I had a guy replace the rear main seal on my 1989 Jaguar XJ6 in my garage years ago. It was quite challenge, but he pulled it off.

    It did not appear that the flywheel was installed according to the WIS. Using new bolts, torque to 45NM, then 90 degrees. Requires using the flywheel holding tool (remove starter to use tool). WIS: BA03.30-P-1002-01D Notice that he is trying to torque them, but the flywheel is moving.

    This is similar to how I did it. I too used the Mercedes rear seal install tool, but I used the tool with an arbor press and pressed the seal in the cover first. Then I used the tool to install the cover and seal as a complete assembly. This worked perfectly. When using this tool to press on the new seal you MUST make sure the two bolts on the oil pan to the rear cover are installed or you risk breaking the cover. I know because I broke the cover.

    Great video. Need this done on my 2018 e63s at 40k miles. Design flaw likely. Mb wants $13k and indy shop wants $8k. This guy seemed to do it before lunch!

    Impressive! I wish all techs would do the job right and not cut corners. This is how it should be.

    I didn't see if you had used any type of a gasket or sealant for the large I want to call it "backer plate". Was any applied and should there be some applied? Any time period of waiting before reinstalling?

    Nice job. I need this done on my 2k E430. I do some DIY but this job is for the professional. Where's your garage located?

    Can you buy a new seal housing with seal already installed and then just bolt the housing with seal or do you have to use the press tool the way you did it? Many thanks from the UK considering doing the job myself, ugh!

    Great work. How much time did it take? Is the process the same for a 1994 C280 W202?

    How do you unbolt and bolt on the converter to the fly wheel?

    • @MercedesBenzTipsTricks
      @MercedesBenzTipsTricks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you look from the engine side on the bet housing, you can see a cut out hole to access those bolts. Remove the cover and turn the engine by hand slowly, you could see those bolts.
