as a Mercedes-benz master tech/ shop foreman I'm going to give you some tips.. #1... that locking clip for the shift linkage on the shifter is a single use clip, if you re-use it, the linkage will fall off and you will need to be towed home. #2 M113 valve cover breathers are a known leak point. take the breathers off the valve cover, clean out the sealant and re-seal using new M4 screws, #3 if you remove the pilot bushing from the trans, there is a good chance it will break the conductor plate. us extreme caution and the install torque is only 4nm. btw.. it's a 7mm bolt. #5 make sure you replace the rear main plate along with the seal and you MUST use the correct seal installer or it will leak. the installer will locate the new rear main seal 2mm deeper on the crank and onto fresh metal and the seal won't roll. #6 , when you pull the transmission, cover the 02 sensor connectors. if you get a drop of trans fluid in the 02 sensor, it's gonna be trash and the check engine light will come on. other than that...... good work. I've been a benz tech for 16yrs... LMK if you have any other questions.... I too own a E55 as well.

@@turbocraz1 going off of memory, if the hard pipe on the back side of the drivers side valve cover is leaking, that will cause the fault, also the big o ring between the charger and the bypass valve can leak. the best advice is to get a cheap smoke tester and smoke test the engine. cap the throttle body and fill it with smoke.

@@malloymotorsports780 I did a VRP bypass delete so there are 2 gaskets and new seal there now, and a new rubber gromut in the metal pipe behind the SC I'll have to do another smoke test again then.

What a Mission... I've to do the same thing on our 2005 E55 with 160k miles. Not looking forward to it. Just a minor leak at the moment.
Thanks for posting. Looking forward to the next episode...

Bro what? Say that shit again. I need a lift so bad for my e55. Do all my work on the ground. I’ve replaced engine mounts, transmission mounts, longtube headers. Never have I done this but I know for a fact it will come one day

@@LOONIBEATS I feel the same way. My whole life I’ve been working from the ground and ramps. So over it just know someday I’ll have a shop with a lift. Just can’t do it in the state I live in due to the cost of living
