      @@MrTriPie when I export obj with all the textures and principled bsdf nodes colors
      The problem is that when i pack resources and expprt OBJ them import the OBJ and materials in a new file all bsdf only colors become white and I have to readjust them!
      Is there a way to save the bsdf setting and export it with the obj?

    Ffffffffffff ok now I understand why my characters had blue bags around their eyes and mouths, I didn't know the radius was 3 values for RGB I thought it was something like how deep the light can go from... different angles or something?
    Wow, ok you've solved a big headache for me, thank you :D
    I rescind this remark, it's as you later describe a side-effect of the scatter type being random walk, but even using random walk by manipulating the values I was able to reduce the appearance of the errors.

    I have a question relating to the Principled BSDF. In the version of Blender that I am using, there are two setting that weren't in your video: Subsurface IOR and Subsurface Anisotropy. When entering in the Subsurface IOR, would you enter the actual IOR of an object or a different number? And if it is a different number, how would you calculate it?

    • @MrTriPie
      @MrTriPie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The default Subsurface IOR value is in a similar range to the values on charts like this: pixelandpoly.com/ior.html so I'd guess just use the actual IOR.
      I think it would make sense if the default is approximately what human skin would be (looking around online I'm seeing 1.3 or 1.4).
      For Subsurface Anisotropy, the Blender Manual says it "Controls the directionality of subsurface scattering", so it would be for a surface that would have a different structure from different angles (maybe a piece of cloth, or a leaf), though I'm not sure how it would affect it
      These two settings are both currently Cycles only.

    HELP! I accidentally erased my Material output box next to the Principled BSDF box how do I replace it? I also made duplicate names in the material for naming the materials how do I erase those without erasing the cube too? HELP PLEASE!

  • @Ciprian-Amarandei
    @Ciprian-Amarandei ปีที่แล้ว

    IOR is index of refraction. It can be a simple index or can have special curve.There is no such thing as index of reflexion. There is however a such thing as reflectance.

    What to do if i don't have metallic?

    • @MrTriPie
      @MrTriPie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the only way for the principled bsdf to not have metallic (unless there's a bug) would be for it to be hidden. Pressing Ctrl H with a node selected will hide all the inputs and outputs that have nothing connected to them. Pressing it again will show everything

    • @MrTriPie
      @MrTriPie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a material made in the shader node editor in a recent Blender version it should be there by default (and easy to add in the menu that comes up when pressing Shift A)
