Being an owner of the C6 ZR1 and have watched every review it seems like since i was 9 years old. I would have to say this is one of the best reviews i have seen.
Enjoyed the video. I own C6 ZR1 owner and I've driven the C7 ZR1 many times. The updated dash and technology inside the C7 is cool. But from a driving experience the C6 ZR1 is more raw and fun. Not to mention nothing can beat those smooth clean lines of the C6. The C7 has those weird lines and front openings. I understand the reason for them. But I think the designers could have done a better job with that. Just my opinion.
I totally agree, that huge wing on the back of C7 ZR1 looks ridicules, I own a mint C5 and C6 ZO6 I hate the look of the C8 and C7 that’s just me though!
100%. Ive never loved the point of the shenanigans that GM does like the plexiglass hood buldge on the c6zr1, but I understand it has to be a track car that sells to its base… which unfortunately isnt track guys, for the most part, but retirees going to cars and coffee…but the c6 never lost that raw unwieldy spirit that made barebones race cars like the viper, Carrera GT, stratos, 911 and so on such more than wheels but an experience and a lesson to learn every time you turn it on. Love you guys and the car world and drive on and drive safe 🤟🏻
The C6 in my opinion is the best looking modern Corvette. It gives you a little bit of technology and a little bit of old school. The C6 Z06 is my favorite followed by the C6 ZR1. I love the round tail lights. I have never gotten used to the back of the C7 or the C8.
Man I'm debating a C6Z or C7Z. I really like the 7 but the 6 just has the best ass. Don't care for the 6 headlights and don't care for the 7 taillights.
And you don't think the C6 ZR1 is too much fun and perfect personally I like the C7 zr1 better looks wise but driving the C6 ZR1 all day long not even close didn't have the computer crap the sports car new ones are for pussies and women with the computer driving it for you that C6 ZR1 fun as hell in fact the C6 Z06 regular one is more fun to drive then the C7 ZR1
Any owner of a C6 or C7 ZR1 is fortunate, I own a ZL1/1LE oem parts added and I'm very grateful, The C7 ZR1 6 speed is the one I would pick because it the last front engine direct injection and port injection with a 2650 supercharger that with just a few mods 1K hp is possible, that's enough to destroy a plaid !😂 Power to weight baby !

As a C6 ZR1 owner, I love my car. Comparing the C6 638 hp 3373 weight vs C7 755 hp 3560 weight. C7 has 117 more hp. C6 is 187 lbs. lighter. Just added a few mods to my C6 this will easily bring this past the C7 ZR1 hp. Lingenfelter snout ported, Supercharger ported, runners ported, NW 103 throttle body, 1300 ID Injectors, Dual fuel pumps, E85 flex fuel, Kooks 2” to 3” headers with green cats, larger intercooler, catch can, reinforced bricks, Pro Speed Inlets, high flow CF LMT air intake. Haven’t done the cam yet’ This is’ One Raw Power Monster!

You should add a C6 Zr1 to your collection. When you own one of these you want to drive it nonstop there so much fun to drive. Imagine a built C6 Zr1 with a cam, headers, x pipe making 780hp its the best. I took my car to LMR (Late Model Racecraft) the best corvette modification shop in the world

Yeah, stock tire in that beast unless you ease into it goes up in smoke. Its tough though, the Michelin cup2's are beasts for lateral and the track but linear, nope. I remember when i got my c6 zr1. I had a c6 z06 and that was a beast stock at the time. When i got into the zr1 it was like a whole different warp drive. That zr1 beat the enzo, carrera gt, slr and gtr around the nurburgring badly. Think it ran like a 7:17 or 7:18 and even then there was an issue so it could have gone faster. On average it beat all those cars like by 6 seconds. Insane. Slight mods on the LS9 are all you need. Favorite vette of all time in my book. The torque is insane. Great review and reaction. Grab one while you can.
I love the raw power and looks of my cammed C6 ZR1. Cars a beast! As far as the C7 ZR1, didn’t like the big wing (ZTK package) at first, but it grew on me. Love the power they made with the C7 ZR1 and the 7 spd manual. I still prefer the raw power and looks of the C6 ZR1, but the C7 ZR1 is an awesome car!
1979 was the first year for a factory rear spoiler as an option and were standard on 80 to 82 Corvettes. I don’t believe there were any C4s or C5s with a factory rear spoiler; however, there were dealers which offered various body kits on the C4 including the Greenwood body kit which included a rear spoiler.
If the C7 was a manual I’d choose that one but since it’s not I’d have to go with the c6 LS9 because to me the whole driving experience is to have fun shifting through the gears .
The C6 is superior to the C7 in all categories IMO. Very traditional with the round taillights to complete Vette look and charm . The C6 ZR1 is my dream car. I will make it happen! C7 IS AWESOME JUST NOT MY STYLE. Great video.
Nope, only categories I’ll give to the C6 Zr1 are weight and rawness. You can’t discredit 9 years of engineering that went into the C7 Zr1. The four round taillights are a thing of the past. The original Corvette didn’t even have them. Not to say the C6 Zr1 isn’t amazing. It’s just that saying it’s superior to the C7 Zr1 is asinine
I’m partial to the N/A 7.0L LS7 427CI V8 in the C6 Z06, which sounds awesome and with forged pistons is easily capable of handling 1000HP. However, I love the C7, but in Z06 form also, with the Supercharged 6.2L LT4 376CI V8 married to the 7-speed manual thanks. 🤤
i use to like the c6 the best but i finally came around to the c7 and like it so much i traded my 370z nismo for a 2015 stingray z51. i am on my 4th corvette and this is by far the best
I'm headed the opposite direction. Forever loved the 7M C7Z but the C6Z has been growing on me like crazy. I always told myself I would own both. Already did the C7Z, ready for a C6Z. 😈
Do you find your C7 ZR1 to be nose heavy with the bigger supercharger? I found my 91 ZR1 to be very nose heavy with the LT5 engine. Great review of both. Buying a C6 ZR1 soon.
The traction problems on the C6 ZR1 are definitely tire related. 1st of all, those are probably pretty old tires, and tire technology has come a long way too. With a pulley and E85, the poor stock tires on mine couldn’t hold on. Some stickier tires made a world of difference. Also the C6 is super loud when you’re behind it and the valves are open! I think these cars shooting the exhaust straight out the back makes it hard to realize how loud they are! And yes, the C6 ZR1 is the best and always will be!
In my eyes, the C7 Stingray is absolutely the most beautiful & badass looking Bette ever made. But there's something about a 1980 C3, that just does it for me. Also, I can afford a good condition C3!

At 15:07 You mentioned that the wheels are the same size all the way around. Not true. C7 ZR1 wheels are available in size 19 x 10.5 front and 20 x 12 rear. The recommended tire size for the ZR1 wheels is 285-30-19 front and 335-25-20 rear.

Both are great cars. But, as an owner of both, the C7 ZR1 is light years ahead of a C6 ZR1. The weight difference between my two is $150 pounds, What did the C6 ZR1 run at The Ring? The Domestic Proving Grounds - VIR? Or the fastest quarter mile time from the famous Will Farmer who owns the records for both? If you know, the C7 ZR1 beat the C6 ZR1 in all of those as well as everywhere else, as it should. As an owner of both, I like them both, but the C7 Z06 replaced the C6 ZR1 when it came out and again, beat the C6 ZR1 in all of those same categories I mentioned earlier.

Despite having a C7ZR1 myself and had C6 in the past, I still will watch videos like this. And while just about all of it was no surprise, I did not know that the Sebring Orange Design Package also gave you the bronze seat backs. Really kind of digging those. What’s crazy between those two cars stock to stock is the C6 ZR1 probably edges out the C7 ZR1 (with ZTK) in top speed despite being down well over 100hp. All the aero downforce and cooling of the C7 really hurts the top end. And yeah yeah the manual is more fun to drive in a lot of situations. But for any type of racing situation, that A8 is the way to go.

I chose to keep the power low at the time I just shipped the car back and we are going smaller pulley and it should make 1,000 on E85 and a tune

Not nose heavy at all. I had a C7 z06 before and they feel pretty similar but the zr1 is just on steroids haha

Both AWESOME! But with the crazy pricing of the C7ZR1 I'd rather own the C6. And a good alternative to the C6ZR1 would be to pick up a nice C7Z06.

For me, I think the bang for the buck on the C6 platform is a modded C6 Z06 over the C6 ZR1. Get a 700 HP N/A package C6 Z06.

Both are great cars. But, as an owner of both, the C7 ZR1 is light years ahead of a C6 ZR1. The weight difference between my two is $150 pounds, What did the C6 ZR1 run at The Ring? The Domestic Proving Grounds - VIR? Or the fastest quarter mile time from the famous Will Farmer who owns the records for both? If you know, the C7 ZR1 beat the C6 ZR1 in all of those as well as everywhere else, as it should. As an owner of both, I like them both, but the C7 Z06 replaced the C6 ZR1 when it came out and again, beat the C6 ZR1 in all of those same categories I mentioned earlier.

Despite having a C7ZR1 myself and had C6 in the past, I still will watch videos like this. And while just about all of it was no surprise, I did not know that the Sebring Orange Design Package also gave you the bronze seat backs. Really kind of digging those.
What’s crazy between those two cars stock to stock is the C6 ZR1 probably edges out the C7 ZR1 (with ZTK) in top speed despite being down well over 100hp. All the aero downforce and cooling of the C7 really hurts the top end.
And yeah yeah the manual is more fun to drive in a lot of situations. But for any type of racing situation, that A8 is the way to go.
Non-ZTK and it’s no contest, the C7 Zr1 pulls on the C6 Zr1, can’t beat 117 more hp even with 200 less pounds
