It's 111 degrees out today, and my garage door wouldn't close. I got out my phone and searched, your video came up and I had the door working again in just a few minutes. THANK YOU!!
Thank You! I just finished cleaning out and organizing my single car garage, parked my car inside yesterday, closed garage door only to find this morning the garage door would open but not close. Your troubleshooting video herein almost immediately solved the problem: The receiving sensor somehow got out of alignment and a simple adjustment - i.e., loosened wing nut, centered sensor horizontally, and retightened wing nut - and presto! fixed just as your video explained. Again,, thanks for your troubleshooting guide.
Thank you. Couldn't figure out why all of a sudden my garage door wasn't working. As simple as making sure the sensors were "communicating" with each other. Realized I'd moved a box in front of one which interrupted the signal. !!!!!!!!👍🏼
Thank you SO MUCH for making this video and explaining how the problem can be fixed! It ended up that my sensor needed readjusting. I'm grateful to you.
Thank you for the information. It’s great to watch your video. My garage the receiver is not red light and I have to hold the button garage opener on the wall press longer to close it. None of my remote doesn’t work to close it.
thanks for your video, we went through your list but - in our case, the rollers on both sides needed some oiling and the garage door closed again, hmmm!
How about a garage door that closes fine, but when it gets to the bottom of its run, it comes up a few inches, rather than close flush to the ground? I guess it's also a sensor issue from what you said?
The Chamberlain style sensors get misaligned easily from the vibration of the door opening & closing. A couple times a year I have to adjust the receiving sensor. 🤦♂️
So the door won't close at all even when you hold the button on the opener down? Can you manually close the door? So if you manually close the door and then test the opener you should be able to determine what the issue is. If you hit the button and you hear it click on the opener but the chain/belt doesn't move you probably need a new opener. If it moves you may have an issue with the travel limits or weight of the door, so the spring. I haven't actually pulled one apart and replaced the motor I usually just change out the opener.
@@HomeRepairHub I tried 2 remote openers and the one on the wall. Still won't close and/or goes up a little, comes down and up and down and up and down over and over again.

What about if the door still won't go down after trying this?

It most likely just needs to have the travel adjusted.

Do you want to try our fix for this and the other issues with standard sensors lack of coverage and usefulness! Let me know!
That didn't work. My garage door guy says I need to replace the motor. The lights are fine on the sensors. HELP!
