The poppin red paint with the forged wheels on the Type S and the perfect sparkle of the iridium blue on my Q50. Performance deficiencies aside of both cars, they're beautiful. Your trust in me is greatly appreciated and I appreciate your edits to remove some of my stuttering and general repetition. The comments about how irritating and annoying I was seems to be without merit. I'm my own worst critic and I only cringed once or twice. This car will be well respected after the proper tune is available also it may not be quicker than most in its class but the handling is far more superior than it's competitors also better looking than all of them
The interesting part is this performance platform vr30 came out in 2016 for the q50. (I own a 2016 red sport). Just goes to show you how acura still hasn't brought something that it should have. This also shows how much infiniti was ahead of the game.
@hon solo neither is the q50 an M3 competitor. Also you can always get a q50 without DAS (direct adaptive steering). Believe it or not, normal TLX had softer suspension than the type S. Q50 has softer suspension than type S but it does not handle as good as type S.
Having said that, it's pretty much only the straight line performance that the type s is lacking. All the areas the Type S is better at. Hopefully Acura can have that resolved sooner rather than later.
At this point, the new Acura TLX Type S is pathetic. Why in the world did they design a loser to the Infiniti Q50 RS. That makes it way slower than the $39K Nissan Z, Toyota Supra, BMW Z4, Audi S4, and Mustang Mach 1.
In a vacuum, the car is far from pathetic. What’s pathetic is the low bar set by Honda. The Type S could be much more if not for corporate bean counters.

Yes they could’ve made the Acura a bit faster and they didn’t, that’s their fault at the moment. However, they can make some significant chances in the upcoming years. They’re not pathetic, they just need improvement.
I must admit, I clicked "thumbs up" 👍👍👍 before watching the video. O M G, loved the close up exhaust revs!!! look forward to it on all your future videos! Great races! Q50 just has a stronger motor. I think most people wouldn't tune either cars to maintain warranty and reliability. But I think a FBO tuned TLX Type S still won't have a chance against a FBO ECUTEK Q50 3.0. Wish there would be a future race with both fully tuned. Please get back behind the wheel Sam, miss seeing your expressions and reactions. haha
Thanks for this video! I was considering buying the type S but glad I went with the 2021 Q50 RS. I do love the interior of the type S but the exterior and performance of the Q50 sold me. This video reaffirms it.
Until the value drops and the problems start. Infiniti’s are nice for the short term. The Acura will hold its value like no other. Also, wait till people start tuning it.
I have never been so relieved because of a video. I bought my Q50s in January 2021 and test drove the Acura at that time. I went with the Q50s and shortly after learned the Type S was coming out in 2021 with a turbo V6 . I preferred the Acura interior to the dated Infiniti which hasn’t changed much since 2014. Luckily the performance has made up for it . Edit : I don’t have the RedSport but I spent $2000 for an Ecutek tune and upgraded heat exchanger .

This S-Type keeps popping up everywhere in races. I have a Lincoln MKZ 3.0t AWD, and I bet it would be a awesome race with this car. If you could make that run happen I bet it would grab a lot of interest

The results are as i expected. The Acura having better gearing for low end and has matching torque keeps up with the infiniti for a few. But in the end that almost 200lb weight advantage and 50 more hp helps it edge the acura
Agreed! I also expected as much, the beautiful Acura is too heavy. What I’d really like to see is how the Acura goes against its competitors around a twisty track or mountain 🏔. Other than that, I’d like to also see how the Acura goes against a brick 🧱 wall… it’s too damn heavy!
@@frankiegarza3002 Just because it's faster, doesn't mean it's better. I owned a 2018 Q50 RS for 3 years and in that time it had a lot of issues. I now own the 2021 Type S and I can say for certain that even though it's a little slower, it's a superior car.
@@vandy2019 you can tell yourself that all you want all day but after it's coming from a 2008 type s that had nothing but problems after another especially electrical Gremlins s***** ass automatic transmission not to mention the front end suspension just waiting to pop off just like every other car the crack dashes and everything yeah I'd rather have a twin turbo Q50 then a 2021 that's already starting to show problems just like everybody else is posting already this early into owning the car not to mention I'd rather have a real-wheel drive... With more horsepower high compression v6s are beasts. But that's your opinion and you can go ahead and stick to it but I know mine and I have the pronounced approve how much faster my old type s feel sick compared to this car that I'm currently driving and it's not even tuned yet.
This just shows that all Acura would of had to do was give the car an extra 25hp or so and it would of been fine....When I first heard about the Type S coming out I kept having this HP number of 420 in my head.I never would of thought the stinger GT and q50 Redsports would have been lighter and more powerful. I'm hoping Acura learned there lesson and bumps up the power for there refresh of this model in the future
And its extremely heavy, 4200lbs? A car of this caliber should be in the 3600-3800lb range and it makes sense strip 500lbs off the acura and i guarantee it would edge the infiniti

I loved my 3.7 liter v6 acura tl in 2010 with SHAWD but it was just missing that acceleration. Imagine a decade later and Acura doing the same thing again. Acura Honda needs to be called out for always failing it's fanbase. They have all the tools but constantly miss.

I think Acura left some meat on the bone, just as long as it’s tunable to some extent. 3rd Gen TL-S we’re notoriously tough to crack and no turbo meant no extra headroom.
Even though the TLX is slow (relatively), it doesn't mean it's a bad car. It has good power, good dynamics, nice looks ?, and a reasonable price compared to it's competition. But drag racing isn't its forte!
Imagine a world where Acura could ACTUALLY be the best performance focused brand, regardless of cost, utilizing as much exotic weight savings materials the true top performance brands use that, COMBINED with Honda finally allowing their engineers to create something that's fully representative of THEIR full capabilities, utilizing everything they learned from creating lawnmowers to airplanes. (They have a storied history that should be celebrated, and fully realized) I KNOW this won't ever happen. BUT at least there's the CTR (a vehicle that's pure Honda) - it's definitely NOT compromised, allowing for it be one of, if not the best handling and performing front engined, front wheel drive vehicles ever, which still gives us a little taste of what they can really do - that manual being so very precious!
The Q50 Red Sport has more hp and weighs less. I expected this outcome. Acura needs to shave alot of weight and needs more hp and torque to compete against the competition.

As much Acura isn't as fast as it's competition it's still a great looking car. Was fortunate to test drive a tlx s at a customer house and it drives great. It definitely feels fast, crazy how fast it's competition is.

the JATCO 7-speed isn't really a major weakness in the car, or at least not a serious one; the biggest weakness is handling and steering. It's a very tough transmission that supports drag racing quite well.

im 19 and it cost 30k and with 5k in mods you can have 450 hp plus and the one im getting is a luxe which has white leather seats and boose speakers im comming from a 2009 corolla with a check engine light im hella excited
I got a 2019 Q60 RS for 30k. Came with 18k mi. definitely best bang for your buck. Ppl hate on the interior but the car still looks better than most other daily’s I see around.

I own a q50 and an Audi s5 coupe. I really like the Acura, but right now they leasing for more than the price of my Audi. Not sure what the issue is. The q50, in my opinion, is a perfect daily. Comfortable, reliable, big enough for people and things, and fast enough to keep things interesting. I also like how the snappy the apple carplay is, light years ahead of the Germans. The Audi will run circles around it in the twisties and in a straight line I suspect. At least it feels that way .
Where is car’s specs? Are they all stock , tuned, or he just compared straight 3.0 single turbo all wheel drive VS V6 3.0 twin turbo All wheel drive. I don’t get it.

I take delivery of a 22' TLX Type-S Apex Blue with the performance wheels in March. I currently drive a 2021 STI. I paid off my STI & don't wanna put miles on it. The following were my choices: MK8 Golf R, M340I & TLX Type-S. I ultimately settled on the Type-S. Lol at these comments most of these haters can't barely afford a new Civic, let alone a brand new STI or Type-S lol...hahah
Although discontinued, stack a 2019 Cadillac CTS V-Sport against the Stinger and/or Q50 Red Sport. 420 twin turbo V6. It’s a sleeper for sure. I hurt people’s feelings all the time. Where are you located? I’ll even donate mine for the races.
Was impatient to see this one.a buddy just got one of these Acura and cant wait to race me...but i have to admit after several pulls the Acura will win..it comes with a proper heat exchanger while the RS doesn't

We haven't been able to link that up yet. The G70 is faster (barely) than the stinger and my q50 is faster than the G70 in sport and sport+ so I think the results will be close Qfif. It'll be reaction time and launch quality. Either way would still be fun?!

@@jimwallace4164 G70, Stinger, Q50 RS, are all pretty close. I've seen good drivers in G70/Stinger beating Q50 RS. Similarly, a good experienced driver in Q50 will beat Koreans but only slightly and also depends on reaction time and launch quality. I'd gladly buy G70 or Stinger over Q50. No offense but Q50 has to be one of the ugliest sedans. Camry's exterior looks better ... lol

The TLX type S still looks really good and probably most people that buy it are not buying it to race. If it's a go to work and back home car it's going to be fine enough for most people. About half or more of the cars on the road are four cylinder cookie cutter SUVs anyway..lol If you want good passing power and good merging power that car will be more than good enough. These videos also forget how the car handles. That is half the fun right there.
I own an 21 TLX awd. In the turns its amazing for its weight. I owned 370Z ( with Bolt-ons ) and a 05 STi ( Upgraded Turbo w/ 400bhp ). The AWD in the Acura is Amazing and more forgiving than my previous cars. You only notice the lack of power on the freeway. Street light to street light its faster than my Z and dang near close to my Subie. I don't plan on adding performance parts since, so this car is a happy medium Pending the stage in your life. FYI, LA Traffic gets me 23.5mpg so far on 91. Be prepared to change the factory rims btw.

A new hot sport sedan that acura was bragging about got beaten by a dated and old infiniti, did acura put any effort into making the new type s? They really need to shave weight off this tank and give it a more potent engine closer to 420hp. But can't deny the beautifully sculptured design with a beautiful long hood.
@hon solo this is a type s for a reason, it should have performance and also luxury, but this is a type s, even the kia k5 gt beat this in a roll with only a 4 cylinder, this car is not sport sedan. It stll has 355hp same as the 2019 acura tlx A Spec, sure it handles nicely but it has little of understeer and you can't drift it and turn traction all the way off and have little fun. It's overegineered and heavy, also the bmw m340i and c43 sales numbers are on the top, so yeah people do buy bmw and Mercedes over the competition most of the time. Acura should've tweaked the engine to make a little more power and shave weight off, why would anyone pick this over the Germans except for price and styling? The acura type s is what the tlx A Spec should've been. G70, Cadillac ct5 v, s3, c43 are better choices in my opinion. If you forget about speed and focus on handleing, its very heavy and it's not very nimble, cars like the g70 are better value and are more nimble even though it's OLDER? This has the same power as the previous gen A spec, acura performance made zero progress so far.

I own a 2018 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 AWD, it’s a scary BEAST (whenever it’s 70’ out side)!!! Those turbos love the cool air. Super fast! Loads of FUN!!!!!!!!!

Because the K5GT is no slouch. Slap good tires on it and the dig race will be closer. The roll... We know what happens. Still, speed ain't everything. Type s is plenty fast and handles great not to mention great looking inside out.
i think its meant to be modded. One guy has just a downpipe, bigger tb and metal charge pipe and it went 12.6 in the quarter without even touching the ecu.
For us car nerds we would like to see quarter mile times at least and maybe some 0-60s but we can kinda guess that depending on the turnout, but would also be cool to see equal weight runs such as is if one car is 300lbs heavier or so throw a passenger in the lighter car to balance the scales for a real world stop light event. Btw I really enjoy your channel 👍👍
Never worried about when a stock car vs stock car. If you are a car enthusiast who advocates on speed and acceleration, tunning will be a huge part of the game. Both cars are nice. Beauty is in the eye of beholder. Great vid guys. Keep up the great work.

The TypeS should’ve been a twin turbo 3.5 V6 with at least 400 HP 390 Torque. Maybe 3800 pounds. Thing is FASTER doesn’t always mean better. However value for the money means more than a great looking car that may cost more with less power. I wouldn’t give up that TypeS for anything in its competition level. It’s a sexy ass ride! Remember there will always be someone FASTER than you no matter what you drive.

The look of pure laughter from his passengers as he got drug to gapplebees was quite invigorating. I couldn’t help but laugh I knew I was gonna win by some cars, but it wasn’t even close.
Two time owner of the Q50 Red S AWD. Its the most underrated car and engine on the market. Easily runs 0-60 in 4.4 secs or better on a consistent basis. Type S had nothing for ya. Acura puts all it's efforts into the NSX. Infiniti needs a beast too
@@WiscoMTB37 That's my problem with them, the interior. The VR30 is a little animal with mods, I agree, but I don't buy a car solely for the engine. I was really looking at a Q60 before I got my Stinger.. And it didn't have Android auto. Damn 55k sticker, but no android auto and the double screen thing was weird. Also I hate DAS steering. The Q60 is beautiful and I still get neck injuries when I see one on the road. I just really wish Infiniti gave a fuck about keeping them relevant.
@@WiscoMTB37 mostly just dated with low tech. The materials used and build quality are very good. I have 3 years and 60k miles on my 19 red sport and still don't have a single rattle or or leather creasing. Seats are ultra comfortable too, just with they were cooled 😮💨
Acura needs to remove weight from it for the next Gen, it’s literally the slowest and heaviest out of its class. What were they thinking? It’s 1200 pounds heavier than the Accord Sport.
@@limitedreach4446 agreed, but seeing as the car is already here, I think it’s a lot easier to just add 50hp as opposed to reducing weight without losing luxury features. The motor is overbuilt and can take more power, I think that’s what Acura should focus on.
Yea I hear you and understand but the fact is you know how the Japanese are they want you to enjoy the experience and also for it to be amazing around the track I think that power is just perfect for a track they never make cars that are meant to go really fast in a straight line. But I do wish they would make it lighter and give it 50-75 more HP or maybe they shoudl have made it twin turbo instead.
To be honest, the HP is actually great power for an Acura the only problem is it’s way to heavy , it’s almost the sz of dodge boats lol, but they have v8’s with more power.
@@hondass98 yea I hear you the weight is a little issue but there is a lot of luxury stuff that’s high Quality that’s in there. Also the car is kind of big and wide but the good thing about how Honda does things is that they make it so easy to tuning so that people can do what they want and how they want. Also they make them so they can hold so much more power from the factory I think they do this on purpose with the low HP and TQ so we the people can hook them up as much as we want. Once hondata comes out with soemthing I beat you they can make close to 400-425 or even more with just a tune and it will be able to hold it with no issues.
a 3600lbs type S would do 60mph in 4.3-4.4secs compared to its current 4.9-5secs. it would beat everything but tie the Audi S4, lose to the c43 and lose badly to the m340i. Germans might be unreliable but they have no competition in drag racing.

That's not a stock TLX TYPE-S. It's got exhaust and lightweight wheels.. Someone pointed out that Acura was doing 13.3s in the quarter when the stock one is good for about 13.5~ 13.7s.. That TLX is probably doing upper 4s (4.8~ 4.9 sec 0-60) so yeah the difference wouldn't be big to a stock Q50RS.
I've never been a fan of Infiniti and I used to love Acura. But Acura as of recent has been able to find a way to blow goats and screw it up! The latest offering of the Type-S is no exception!! Acura is goofy!!
I would agree it seems the guys running the design part at Acura just aren't on top of their game or maybe they were told what to do from higher ups but either way it comes across bad!
The Golf R would likely wax them off the line. I'd be interested in how it held up on a roll vs the Infiniti. And of course with mods those things are fucking broken lol. Still boggles my mind how much they get off their ass with the simplest of mods from a 4 cylinder.
Golf R would be an interesting match up against the Type S. I think from a dig the golf should take the type S up til maybe 100. But a roll could be neck n neck
The Q50 with 330HP would have been a better match..I'd like to catch a Q50 Red sport in my TL just to see how fast it is from a 90mph roll. A 355 HP acura vs a 400hp Infinity, it's lacking in HP, and the infinity didn't gap it by very much. Sam, if we get a tuned version of the Acura bumped to 400hp. Let's have this race again.
No....the older TLX v6 fwd....beat the 330 hp Q50 and g37....I did it in mines...and it's all over TH-cam.....so the type s would definitely beat the 330hp Q50....

I think most people wouldn't tune either cars to maintain warranty and reliability. But I think a FBO tuned TLX Type S still won't have a chance against a FBO ECUTEK Q50 3.0. Thanks for this video! I was considering buying the type S but glad I went with the 2021 Q50 RS. I do love the interior of the type S but the exterior and performance of the Q50 sold me. This video reaffirms it.
Until the value drops and the problems start. Infiniti’s are nice for the short term. The Acura will hold its value like no other. Also, wait till people start tuning it.
I have never been so relieved because of a video. I bought my Q50s in January 2021 and test drove the Acura at that time. I went with the Q50s and shortly after learned the Type S was coming out in 2021 with a turbo V6 . I preferred the Acura interior to the dated Infiniti which hasn’t changed much since 2014. Luckily the performance has made up for it .
Edit : I don’t have the RedSport but I spent $2000 for an Ecutek tune and upgraded heat exchanger .

It’s a phenomenal car . I own a Q50 RS, 26k miles … AWD. It’s a rocket ship. Handles great… Even light mods can put this over 500 whp.
This S-Type keeps popping up everywhere in races. I have a Lincoln MKZ 3.0t AWD, and I bet it would be a awesome race with this car. If you could make that run happen I bet it would grab a lot of interest

The results are as i expected. The Acura having better gearing for low end and has matching torque keeps up with the infiniti for a few. But in the end that almost 200lb weight advantage and 50 more hp helps it edge the acura
Agreed! I also expected as much, the beautiful Acura is too heavy. What I’d really like to see is how the Acura goes against its competitors around a twisty track or mountain 🏔.

@@frankiegarza3002 Just because it's faster, doesn't mean it's better. I owned a 2018 Q50 RS for 3 years and in that time it had a lot of issues. I now own the 2021 Type S and I can say for certain that even though it's a little slower, it's a superior car.

This just shows that all Acura would of had to do was give the car an extra 25hp or so and it would of been fine....When I first heard about the Type S coming out I kept having this HP number of 420 in my head.I never would of thought the stinger GT and q50 Redsports would have been lighter and more powerful. I'm hoping Acura learned there lesson and bumps up the power for there refresh of this model in the future

I think Acura left some meat on the bone, just as long as it’s tunable to some extent. 3rd Gen TL-S we’re notoriously tough to crack and no turbo meant no extra headroom.
Even though the TLX is slow (relatively), it doesn't mean it's a bad car. It has good power, good dynamics, nice looks ?, and a reasonable price compared to it's competition. But drag racing isn't its forte!

As much Acura isn't as fast as it's competition it's still a great looking car. Was fortunate to test drive a tlx s at a customer house and it drives great. It definitely feels fast, crazy how fast it's competition is.

the JATCO 7-speed isn't really a major weakness in the car, or at least not a serious one; the biggest weakness is handling and steering. It's a very tough transmission that supports drag racing quite well.

I got a 2019 Q60 RS for 30k. Came with 18k mi. definitely best bang for your buck. Ppl hate on the interior but the car still looks better than most other daily’s I see around.
Loved my RedSport 400. Plug in a simple JB4 and bump the boost up 4lbs and you'll run mid 12's at 115mph.
Mine ran 12.5 with just LDP, fully stock otherwise

I own a q50 and an Audi s5 coupe. I really like the Acura, but right now they leasing for more than the price of my Audi. Not sure what the issue is. The q50, in my opinion, is a perfect daily. Comfortable, reliable, big enough for people and things, and fast enough to keep things interesting. I also like how the snappy the apple carplay is, light years ahead of the Germans. The Audi will run circles around it in the twisties and in a straight line I suspect. At least it feels that way .

I take delivery of a 22' TLX Type-S Apex Blue with the performance wheels in March. I currently drive a 2021 STI. I paid off my STI & don't wanna put miles on it. The following were my choices: MK8 Golf R, M340I & TLX Type-S. I ultimately settled on the Type-S. Lol at these comments most of these haters can't barely afford a new Civic, let alone a brand new STI or Type-S lol...hahah

We haven't been able to link that up yet. The G70 is faster (barely) than the stinger and my q50 is faster than the G70 in sport and sport+ so I think the results will be close Qfif. It'll be reaction time and launch quality. Either way would still be fun?!

@@jimwallace4164 G70, Stinger, Q50 RS, are all pretty close. I've seen good drivers in G70/Stinger beating Q50 RS. Similarly, a good experienced driver in Q50 will beat Koreans but only slightly and also depends on reaction time and launch quality. I'd gladly buy G70 or Stinger over Q50. No offense but Q50 has to be one of the ugliest sedans. Camry's exterior looks better ... lol

The TLX type S still looks really good and probably most people that buy it are not buying it to race. If it's a go to work and back home car it's going to be fine enough for most people. About half or more of the cars on the road are four cylinder cookie cutter SUVs anyway..lol If you want good passing power and good merging power that car will be more than good enough. These videos also forget how the car handles. That is half the fun right there.
Curious to know what kind of facility are you testing at? That's a lot of pavement and it would be awesome for street tuning.

I own an 21 TLX awd. In the turns its amazing for its weight. I owned 370Z ( with Bolt-ons ) and a 05 STi ( Upgraded Turbo w/ 400bhp ). The AWD in the Acura is Amazing and more forgiving than my previous cars. You only notice the lack of power on the freeway. Street light to street light its faster than my Z and dang near close to my Subie. I don't plan on adding performance parts since, so this car is a happy medium Pending the stage in your life. FYI, LA Traffic gets me 23.5mpg so far on 91. Be prepared to change the factory rims btw.

I think the Acura looks awesome, they need to make it 400 hp to be the top one against there competitors. The rest look blah but have the HP.
A new hot sport sedan that acura was bragging about got beaten by a dated and old infiniti, did acura put any effort into making the new type s? They really need to shave weight off this tank and give it a more potent engine closer to 420hp. But can't deny the beautifully sculptured design with a beautiful long hood.
@hon solo this is a type s for a reason, it should have performance and also luxury, but this is a type s, even the kia k5 gt beat this in a roll with only a 4 cylinder, this car is not sport sedan. It stll has 355hp same as the 2019 acura tlx A Spec, sure it handles nicely but it has little of understeer and you can't drift it and turn traction all the way off and have little fun. It's overegineered and heavy, also the bmw m340i and c43 sales numbers are on the top, so yeah people do buy bmw and Mercedes over the competition most of the time. Acura should've tweaked the engine to make a little more power and shave weight off, why would anyone pick this over the Germans except for price and styling? The acura type s is what the tlx A Spec should've been. G70, Cadillac ct5 v, s3, c43 are better choices in my opinion. If you forget about speed and focus on handleing, its very heavy and it's not very nimble, cars like the g70 are better value and are more nimble even though it's OLDER? This has the same power as the previous gen A spec, acura performance made zero progress so far.

The kia has a decent weight advantage of around 700lbs so its power to weight is right around the type S
i think its meant to be modded. One guy has just a downpipe, bigger tb and metal charge pipe and it went 12.6 in the quarter without even touching the ecu.
For us car nerds we would like to see quarter mile times at least and maybe some 0-60s but we can kinda guess that depending on the turnout, but would also be cool to see equal weight runs such as is if one car is 300lbs heavier or so throw a passenger in the lighter car to balance the scales for a real world stop light event. The TypeS should’ve been a twin turbo 3.5 V6 with at least 400 HP 390 Torque. Maybe 3800 pounds. Thing is FASTER doesn’t always mean better. However value for the money means more than a great looking car that may cost more with less power. I wouldn’t give up that TypeS for anything in its competition level. It’s a sexy ass ride!

The look of pure laughter from his passengers as he got drug to gapplebees was quite invigorating. I couldn’t help but laugh I knew I was gonna win by some cars, but it wasn’t even close.
Two time owner of the Q50 Red S AWD. Its the most underrated car and engine on the market. Easily runs 0-60 in 4.4 secs or better on a consistent basis. Type S had nothing for ya. Acura puts all it's efforts into the NSX. Infiniti needs a beast too
It is rated at 400bhp and is significantly slower than 382bhp M340 that runs 0-60 in 3.8 sec. It does not look underrated to me.

I sold my third gen type s and now I'm in a G37 too bad the gap between them isn't as bad as the gap between the third gen and 09-13 g/q models

I’d take a q50 cause they respond to tuning well but the the Infiniti interior is pretty trash compared to all other brands.
@@WiscoMTB37 That's my problem with them, the interior. The VR30 is a little animal with mods, I agree, but I don't buy a car solely for the engine. I was really looking at a Q60 before I got my Stinger.. And it didn't have Android auto. Damn 55k sticker, but no android auto and the double screen thing was weird. Also I hate DAS steering. The Q60 is beautiful and I still get neck injuries when I see one on the road. I just really wish Infiniti gave a fuck about keeping them relevant.
@@WiscoMTB37 mostly just dated with low tech. The materials used and build quality are very good. I have 3 years and 60k miles on my 19 red sport and still don't have a single rattle or or leather creasing. Seats are ultra comfortable too, just with they were cooled 😮💨
hopefully they update the interior of the q50 as the 400z will just kill the q50 and q60 for infiniti if they dont update

Acura needs to remove weight from it for the next Gen, it’s literally the slowest and heaviest out of its class. What were they thinking? It’s 1200 pounds heavier than the Accord Sport.
@@limitedreach4446 for perspective, it weighs the same as the 3rd generation MDX w/SH-AWD. ‘Weigh’ too much for a mid-size sports sedan.

@@limitedreach4446 agreed, but seeing as the car is already here, I think it’s a lot easier to just add 50hp as opposed to reducing weight without losing luxury features. The motor is overbuilt and can take more power, I think that’s what Acura should focus on.
The 2.0 accord may be fast from dig but tops out at 120mph....blow them away on the interstate in my v6 tlx fwd......

The issue is, that Acura is a damn boat, there fine with the same amount of hp, with at least 600 pounds less, that thing would be a monster!
Yea I hear you and understand but the fact is you know how the Japanese are they want you to enjoy the experience and also for it to be amazing around the track I think that power is just perfect for a track they never make cars that are meant to go really fast in a straight line. But I do wish they would make it lighter and give it 50-75 more HP or maybe they shoudl have made it twin turbo instead.
To be honest, the HP is actually great power for an Acura the only problem is it’s way to heavy , it’s almost the sz of dodge boats lol, but they have v8’s with more power.
@@hondass98 yea I hear you the weight is a little issue but there is a lot of luxury stuff that’s high Quality that’s in there. Also the car is kind of big and wide but the good thing about how Honda does things is that they make it so easy to tuning so that people can do what they want and how they want. Also they make them so they can hold so much more power from the factory I think they do this on purpose with the low HP and TQ so we the people can hook them up as much as we want. Once hondata comes out with soemthing I beat you they can make close to 400-425 or even more with just a tune and it will be able to hold it with no issues.
a 3600lbs type S would do 60mph in 4.3-4.4secs compared to its current 4.9-5secs. it would beat everything but tie the Audi S4, lose to the c43 and lose badly to the m340i. Germans might be unreliable but they have no competition in drag racing.
I expected the Q50 to be faster than the Type S and that’s the case, but I thought the Q50 was going to beat it by more and the Acura was actually really close to that Q50

That's not a stock TLX TYPE-S. It's got exhaust and lightweight wheels.. Someone pointed out that Acura was doing 13.3s in the quarter when the stock one is good for about 13.5~ 13.7s.. That TLX is probably doing upper 4s (4.8~ 4.9 sec 0-60) so yeah the difference wouldn't be big to a stock Q50RS.

I've never been a fan of Infiniti and I used to love Acura. But Acura as of recent has been able to find a way to blow goats and screw it up! The latest offering of the Type-S is no exception!! Acura is goofy!!
I would agree it seems the guys running the design part at Acura just aren't on top of their game or maybe they were told what to do from higher ups but either way it comes across bad!
Both are terrible car company's with laughable products that the only people get them is cause they can afford precision German engineering

The Golf R would likely wax them off the line. I'd be interested in how it held up on a roll vs the Infiniti.
And of course with mods those things are fucking broken lol. Still boggles my mind how much they get off their ass with the simplest of mods from a 4 cylinder.
Golf R would be an interesting match up against the Type S. I think from a dig the golf should take the type S up til maybe 100. But a roll could be neck n neck

@hon solo Quarter mile isn't everything. Beating something there doesn't mean it wins a roll. Trap speed would be a better indicator of that.
The Q50 with 330HP would have been a better match..I'd like to catch a Q50 Red sport in my TL just to see how fast it is from a 90mph roll. A 355 HP acura vs a 400hp Infinity, it's lacking in HP, and the infinity didn't gap it by very much. Sam, if we get a tuned version of the Acura bumped to 400hp. Let's have this race again.
No....the older TLX v6 fwd....beat the 330 hp Q50 and g37....I did it in mines...and it's all over TH-cam.....so the type s would definitely beat the 330hp Q50....

@@burnt_type_s I don’t doubt that. There’s this dude on TH-cam, “Honda mobile mechanic” that’s hitting 4.3 seconds to 60 and mid 12 seconds in the 1/4 mile, with 3 simple mods.
