Excellent installation for the tlx type s. Can you do more builds and installs for the tlx type s, especially the PMC edition. Tuning, muffler delete,downpipe, oil catch can, cold air intake and dyno results as well. More TLX Type s videos please. Keep up the awesome work.
Solid video! I plan to do this as well as an exaust swap since the aspec rear bumper bolts straight on, get some sound and the look it should of had from jump, have you installed a s-vcm or anything of that nature to keep vcm off to have full engine power at all times? I plan to do that as well

For sure the rubber trim piece has to be eliminated? PRL description says utilizes factory air ducts/shrouds. Just wondering as mine is in order. Excellent descriptive video!!!!

Are you guys located in Houston? I'd drive down there to have you do this to my Type S! I'm afraid of someone else messing this install up (including myself) after watching this.
We are in South Florida
The TLX is more sporty than the Integra, and that's the one I'd buy and put integra on it. The new integra is more luxury than sport body wise.
How Much for a Install on this....I have 2023 Tlx Type S does it fit this year model?

Intercooler kit will comes with the coupling that will connect to the stock pipings

So is upgrading the inter-cooler on the TLX just a straight upgrade, or are there some downsides to changing the factory cooler to an aftermarket one?
We can't see any downside on the upgraded intercooler, specially if you live in hot climate like South Florida

We have been using PRL's products for a while and love the fitment and finishes. They engineered their products very well to the specific vehicle. As you can see on this one, they are perfect.

Would this complete kit work on my MDX Type S given the engines are similar?
Unfortunately this kit will not work on the MDX-S
I will use red in the intercooler, it's will looks awesome from the outside.

I would recommend a wire mesh behind the bumper grille opening to protect the intercooler from rocks and debris damage...

What is the difference between the factory intercooler and the new one? What does it do to the car and how does it help ? I know it helps with cooling and such but I would like specifics comapred to the orignal intercooler.
Keeps the car cooler, therefore slightly enhancing power, charge pipe upgrade may add a little sound to the intake, this was all said in the video btw

JB4 has very promising result already but it's not a fully tuned system. K-tuner should be available very soon

Funny thing about these type of cars is that’s all you can do. There’s no turbo upgrade or bigger intake manifold. Always a set limited.
For the moment, but soon aftermarket support will be available
P2R has ported intake manifold, throttle body, ported heads
@@robertragland6084 that’s pretty much it. Unless we have more grassroots racer willing to go above and beyond I don’t see to much aftermarket support for high horsepower.
@@pawg206 with ported heads, custom downpipe and Exhaust (many shops can do them locally) PRL working on charging pipes for intercooler, ( I have MDX TYPE S) k & N drop in filter, jb4 tune (with Ktuner coming soon) I can see 500hp coming, which is more on par with the weight of these vehicles...because the handling and overall feel of the vehicle is to most of our likings....Higher hp vehicles of course can be had, for 90k or more 😀
@@robertragland6084 not really, you can buy a base gt mustang for 40k and a whipple supercharger kit for 11k and with tune it’ll make 800whp on pump gas. Not near 90k. And about the same weight as the TLX.
Phewwww... 9,000 screws, clips, pieces of plastic and other stuff just to take the front bumper off. That's why I like old school Hondas. Four bolts, six screws and the bumper of my DA is on the ground in under five minutes. I'd hate to schedule two weeks of vacation time just to swap an intercooler. 🤣
Haha, due to the complexity of the safety regulation and advance technology, there's a lot jammed into these used to be simple components.
@@ahcgarage Lol. Yeah. Truth be told, I don't totally dislike working on the newer ones. It's fun to stay up to date. I just greatly prefer the older stuff. The only downside there is that genuine parts are becoming almost impossible to find. :(

Lol so that intercooler is supposed to give you extra horsepower by cooling it BUT... at the same time I'll make the car front HEAVIER !!! ... unless it weigh less than the stock one ? The PRL description didnt mention anything about their intercooler being lighter though.

They will not. However, they are already in the development for the MDX-S. We will have coverage video also once becomes available. Stay tuned.

Interesting how small this intercooler is compared to b9 S4 aftermarket from Wagner. This one is tiny.
We are sure there are plenty of factory R&D to the stock intercooler, but PRL upgraded intercooler definitely more efficient specially in the hotter climate

I own a 2021 Acura TLX Type S and I would never put that aftermarket crap on my car.
I always get a good chuckle when I see videos like this and hear these modifications being referred to as "upgrades"
I kind of like this car think it's a little too pricy also move away from all those silicone hoses you want your plumbing to be as solid as possible
