this seems like it would be really good with the PE Mod on the PCB and maybe sorbethane only around the perimeter so it still has plenty of flex but to take out most of the sharp noise it provides

It's great to see that Q1 has been mostly praised in review videos. I hope that Keychron sells enough of these to justify making the 65% Q2.
I recently got my first mechanical keyboard which is the Keychron K4 with gateron browns and I absolutely love it. Keychron is a really good brand imo and I can’t wait to be able to mod mine and start my own collection from there

Keychron keyboards in general are really good for value, you get pretty solid manufacturing in pretty much any kbd size at this point for like 100$, so it’s nice especially for like newer ppl
favorite part when glasses and jamini neo called each other. loved when glarses was really happy about the browns!
They made a v2 version that I bought as my first ever mechanical keyboard and am genuinly enjoying, I'd be curious to see your opinion on the changes they made

I just got mine in a couple days ago it is much better than the prototype models they sent out for review. There is still definately ping, but adding a couple layers of tape completely fixes it (it also makes the switches sound a lot poppier.) The stabs also seem to be better, still not the absolute best possible but good enough that I dont think I need to mod them. Overall a really good keyboard, especially for someone who wants minimal to zero modding.
I have both the Keychron Q1 (new one with the knob) and the GMMK Pro. Both feel and sound good after installing Durock v2 stabs and further modding. Ultimately, I prefer the GMMK Pro because it has four keys on the exploded right-most column which I like to map to home, page up, page down and end.

Im getting the keychron q1 for my birthday on march 26 and man I cant wait I'm getting alpacas v2 and I'm gonna mod them mod the stabs and the board as well as get a GMMK keycap set (not a clone set)

GMMK Pro owner... Got the Q1 as well... Anne Bonny build: black body with brass plate, orange & black SA caps, Healios v2 switches and smoky Durock V2s.. Can't wait to take my time with lubing the switches and putting her together... My Pro is also black with brass plate, lubed Glorious Pandas, stock stabs for now and Miami Nights SA caps -- Annabelle Lee build. . Really got no trouble with the original stabs, Permatex works better than the stock grease, and the only space bar has a tiny rattle. In comparison I have Durock V2 plate-mounted stabs on my GMMK1 and the space sounds comparable.
Also, even though I admire your attempt at getting rid of the pinging; How would someone go about doing the opposite? How can we make this board be the absolute King of Ping (tm)?

btw, the reason that the arrow keys are pinging is due to the top and bottom case pinging together. the way to fix this is to put two layers of small pieces of tape near the screw points on the bottom case to create a small gap between the two housings

Hey Hamaji! Love your videos! Was wondering if you can compare the typing feel compared to different higher tier boards? Most compare it to the gmmk pro and i feel like it’s kind of a given that the keychron is much flexier at this point hahhaha.

Hi guys, I have a Keychron C2, and it's my first time trying to mod it. I just added foam to the bottom housing, and went for some akko cs ocean blues. I have them lubed up, and i'm pretty happy with the results. Anyway, can some of you more experienced modders pls recommend a few things to me
1. Another full sized keyboard to mod, maybe slightly higher end.
2. Some slightly higher end/thocc-er? Tactiles switches.
3. Apart from maybe working on my current kb's stabs, anything else I should try doing? Thanks a lot!

I think the reason why the tape mod didn't work is because it acts like a lowpass filter, so pretty much all the high frequency ping would be unaffected
