    Just to confirm again, the car in this video did have LED headlights but only because it was a pre-production prototype model. Hyundai says the production N-Line will come with halogen headlights!!🥺 hopefully, Hyundai fixes that mid year, perhaps if we ask nicely, they will make that change quickly!

    • @hellkitty1014
      @hellkitty1014 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Halogens are a bad look when a Jetta GLI, new Civic, Mazda 3 Turbo, and I believe the Kia Forte GT all come with LED. It just screams extreme cost-cutting.

    • @tonyiafolla1448
      @tonyiafolla1448 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You drove a pre-production manual vehicle, and reported limited features/options on it (ie. Smaller head unit, no advanced safety features). But don't forget that on the last gen Elantra Sport and Elantra GT Sport/N-Line, those had the manual in base trim only. You could get an Ultimate trim for a few thousand more that was DCT only, and had more options on it. I would suspect that Hyundai will keep to the same path with this car. Let's wait until the production is released and I bet there will be a DCT only Ultimate trim with all of the features you are missing on this tester.

      @@tonyiafolla1448 thats what I'm wondering. I know that Hyundai, Honda, and a few others are notorious for decontenting manually-equipped cars.

      They should be an option. This decision makes zero sense- especially when almost all of the competition now offers LEDs as standard equipment (correct me if I'm wrong)? I'm fairly certain the Jetta has them standard. Then Honda did it, followed by Toyota and maybe Kia (I don't remember ever seeing a Forte that didn't have LEDs)...

You should go back 10 to 15 years ago. This includes honda nissan toyota hyundai all of them....and u will realise what u were getting for the money compared to now. The issues is people dont know when to say thanks. They want every single thing for less money. The fact that the 2017 sport had LED headlights and this doesn't is just ridiculous. One of things I've come to appreciate about my Veloster N is the headlights. Obviously in a different league in terms of performance, but if this is meant to be a sportier commuter car, it should have good lighting.

    Not bad. I bought a 2020 Elantra GT N-Line. While my car has been discontinued, I prefer it to this new model. My N-Line has leather seating, the lines on the body are much cleaner, it’s a hatchback (which I prefer) and offers the Technology package (with the 7 speed dual-clutch automatic transmission). This new Elantra? I dunno... Maybe if or when the Elantra N shows up I may decide to pull the trigger. Better yet, bring the i30 N hatchback and then I’d be happy to trade my N-Line in. In the meantime, I’ll keep what I’ve got.

    So out of all the N Line's they plan to produce, what percentage of them you think will actually be in manual? Maybe 20%, 25%? One out of every five or 6 produced I'd gather. So you'll most likely either have to settle on whatever color is available at the time, be patient and wait for your preference or have to expand your dealer inventory search radius to 500 or 1000 miles out I bet. Hoping that won't be the case when they do finally arrive...

    It's so hard to move away to a boring car under 400 hp for a daily commute. Manual would be awesome, but I'm always finding myself hoping that Subaru comes out with a better WRX STI with some electric range or really good fuel mileage. I would take any other well built fun car that has an awesome AWD system. had a '13 500hp WRX STI and a 490 hp Audi A6 and they are both just excellent in any weather, but take too much gas and depreciation hit to drive 250 kms every day.

    I don't see much reason to upgrade from a '18 Elantra Sport. At least that one has standard HID headlights. Also, I still like the '17-'18 rim design the most, it just looks both classic and sporty at the same time. The only pluses I can find in the new N-line are the added active safety systems (though those already became available in '19), and the added rear legroom. Am I missing anything? Somehow the area around the infotainment screen looks cheaper than the '19-'20 model, especially those very simple buttons alongside of it. The double 10.25" digital gauge cluster and media screen in the SEL/Limited really lifts up the whole dashboard, it looks rather bleak without.
    Anyone else hesitant to upgrade after seeing the very small number of improvements? If I had to pick a new car right now, I'd be inclined to go with the Forte GT. Comes with LED headlights, optional adaptive cruise control and a few more goodies you kind of expect in 2021...

Nothing beats VW and Mazda clutches, which feel super natural. Is this the same setup as Kia GT? I sat in it at the car show. You don't need to drive one to tell, this is junky in the clutch and shifter department.

    I really like the exterior styling direction of this car. I didn't have high hopes after the refresh of the previous generation was so bad. Unfortunately, I think they need to spend more money and time on the interior. It looks too plasticy (the cheaper looking kind) to me. That bezel around the base radio is an absolute embarrassment considering the cars this thing competes with. They can't even match that plastic with the bezel around the gauges? And how does the base have the wireless Carplay and the bigger one needs your phone to be wired?
